Our interview with the team was great and the face of the company was very straightforward, kind,no-nonsense. We got a helper quickly. After the 2nd week, the helper no-showed. When i called to see if there was a miscommunication, I found out she had quit and no one had been found to replace her: 3 weeks later, still no replacement so I figured contract over.

Your girls are very friendly and try hard but, I took the time to write the details of [name removed] day and needs. I was told the girls did not read or reference them in their daily shifts. I asked that Aquaphor ointment be used for [name removed] 3 areas of radiation. One of the gals said she was using Cortisone cream on the spots. I had called to make sure the girls could read my notes and was assured they could. I even drew diagrams. I know the condom catheter wasn’t rinsed every day. I will also ask if any of the girls saw a glass heart that I gave [name removed] years ago and he always kept it in the pocket of his shorts. It is missing or lost. I really liked your gals but I know they didn’t read my helping notes. I still have them if you were interested. I did go to VT and do what I had to and got back as soon as possible. [name removed], my daughter , was there and her friend to help. I am soooo glad to be back home with [name removed]. It was hard on everyone to care for him in my absence and I know they tried to be ver

I had two meetings with the agency and interviewed two caregivers. The first one, the information the agency gave me about her was not correct and I found out when I was interviewing he. The other one was suppose to be a live-in; the agency asked to have a finder fee even though she was not an employee of them and has not sign contract with them yet, and things got too complicated. And it ended up that I did not use any of their services.

When hiring people for help to remain in our home they should actually help with light chores and not spend there time on the phone

I had high hopes for this home care agency, but unfortunately my experience has been disappointing. The caregivers frequently arrived late, which created unnecessary stress and disrupted my parent’s daily routine. In addition, many of the aides were not attentive to my parent’s needs and often did only the bare minimum. Light housekeeping, which was part of the services we expected, was rarely completed consistently. Tasks such as tidying up, cleaning common areas, or assisting with basic household upkeep were often overlooked. When caring for a vulnerable parent, reliability, attentiveness, and compassion are essential. Families depend on caregivers to provide quality care and support, not just complete the minimum required tasks. I hope the agency improves its staff training, accountability, and supervision so that future clients receive the level of care they deserve.

My biggest concern was the inconsistency of who was coming. Even after we arrived at a seemingly set schedule, substitutes were sometimes good and often not so good. My concerns were addressed by office personnel. In the end the primary caregivers were very good to my husband.

I had hip replacement surgery and live alone. I received a list of agencies from A Place for Mom I chose Alvita. The sales person was very friendly and helpful. I requested 3 nights of Service .. I signed a contract and wrote a check for the agreed amount Before services started they cashed the check.. I specifically asked for someone who could cook dinner for me. Although the young lady was nice. She informed me that she doesn’t cook. So I had to tell her how to cook a chicken breast. I was told that the aide was certified. But she didn’t know how to use my digital thermometer. The worst thing that happened was that I received an invoice for additional charges. I called finance department and never received a call back. It wasn’t until the sales person intervened that I got a call regarding the invoice. The financial person was not at all interested in what I had to say. The company actually deducted the amount from my checking account without my knowledge.

Main office is a little disorganized and seems to be some turn around. Communication between clients and main office could be better. I also think that there could be a little more training for the ladies (possible gentlemen) being sent into the homes. We have been very fortunate to have one lady who takes care of my mom, wish we could have her full. (however not possible due to her schedule) Overall is been just ok.

2 agencies were contracted with. Right at home (3days) and Cornerstone. Neither agency appears to have standards for staff for basic skills, dress code, artificial long nails. Liberties taken by staff that were explicitly told not too. Mom A&O X4, related information to me. Caregivers only for nights. I was day caregiver. My expectations were not met by Cornerstone. They did try to work with me as I needed a good fit for my mom. Finally hired a nurse friend and paid her the same amount Cornerstone charged nightly.[Amount removed] dollars an hour. I did not understand that caregivers are only sitters. No help. I did not know to ask. Cornerstone owner was professional and responsive to my concerns. I wish I knew that caregivers are not Care Givers from the onset. Couldn’t do much. Just watch the patient.

The owner was very nice and helpful. He came here twice. Unfortunately, the 3 different caregivers sent I never got to meet prior as I requested. The first was good and did all I asked but she wasn’t a good fit for my husband. Very soft spoken and had accent. I asked for someone else. Memorial Day I assumed no one would come due to holiday. I get up walk in living room and see a stranger sitting at the table working on my jigsaw puzzle! She said she was a replacement. She was ok but lazy and kept going back to puzzle. On that Friday I had to go out for a couple hours. I had told gal the day prior that hubby would be home alone for a short time until she arrived. I come back and car in middle of my driveway. A woman was in there talking on phone. I asked who she was she said she was replacement for 2nd gal. So 3rd gal was outside talking on phone while my husband was inside watching TV. He wasn’t showered and still in PJs! I told AH I was finished. Sincere apologies from them

I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with the nurse and the owner of Purple Heart. Our caregiver that was provided to us was excellent. I am very disappointed in the way that they closed their doors. They did release us of our contract and allowed us to hire our caregiver privately to which our caregiver agreed.

They were very nice and seemed like they’d be able to accommodate when we did the initial assessments. Unfortunately they couldn’t not deliver on days/times. After we agreed to amend our ask, the person they provided showed up late and left before the scheduled number of hours were completed over multiple visits. Final straw was when they didn’t show up until 30 minutes before they were scheduled to leave and didn’t say to make up the time. Perhaps it works for people who don’t care about who coming or what they do… but I wouldn’t recommend this company

I did not have a great experience with this company. I was initially told it could take up to 2 weeks to find someone who could work so rural which i was fine with however it took almost 3 and when they did find someone, she came to the house for me to meet her prior to starting. She seemed personable and was scheduled to start next day. Start time was 11:00. I had an appointment and had to leave at 12:30. 11 came and went and by 11:15 i texted the owner asking where she was. She called 5 minutes later and had an elaborate story of how her Mom stole her phone, she just got it back and had just filed a police report. I told her if she needed the day to handle her stuff that was fine however she insisted she would be at my house within the hour. Long story short she never showed up so by 1:30 i just told the owner to tell her not to come. I expressed my concerns and let him know that was not only a bad reflection on her but on his company as well.

My only complaint is that I never know when they are going to be here. They don't call a couple of days ahead.

We laid out our expectation as clearly as possible because of our experience with a previous caregiver. We also asked for a male caregiver. We didn’t specify experience with a dementia client but that was made clear who the client was. The few weeks went well and seemed like a good fit but as time passed, I would come home to both on their devices. After short time, [name removed] said I don’t him here anymore. After a short break, we asked for someone experienced in dementia care. There were no male caregivers available. They sent a young woman who is a college student majoring in psychology. She’s great with good ideas but she will be going back to school after 4 weeks. We will have to start over with someone new. Disappointing at best but lack of planning on their part. At least that’s how I feel. There was also supposed to be a team of caregivers so that there would familiar people when one wasn’t available but that hasn’t happened.

What they could improve on would be details about what is expected as tasks other than a general statement that says just there to help.

1) We had the opportunity to work with some excellent caregivers, but stability and consistency was a significant challenge. It is a benefit that they will provide coverage for when staff take off, but the dependability of the staff was sometimes such an issue, it was hard for Brightcare to keep up and provide coverage. 2) Improve upon staff recruitment and screening. For instance, one person did not not have a valid driver's license and insurance and one other their tasks was to take my mother to appointments. Another person we had to insist they never return because they were captured on our Ring camera leaving my mother in the street on her walker and would not assist her with safely crossing the street and making it into our home.

All the office staff and admin functions were great! The aides themselves often fell asleep during their overnight shifts. They would wake up when needed, but it was discouraging for the patient.

The two caregivers were knowable and knew what to do to care for my mom. I would maybe recommend their services to others, I haven't been able to get a caregiver consistently

The director is very helpful. They had trouble sending qualified help. One day she just didn't show up.
