Brookdale

The facility itself itself is very pretty, there is a theater in the main lobby and based on their weekly newsletter they have a lot of activities going on. The dinning room is dressed up nicely, and the backyard has a nice vegetable garden. Also there is a shopping center across the street, and it is very accessible. The residents only have to cross a little side street to get there and not a main street.

We chose Brookdale Mandeville because the convenience to my house was great, the overall aesthetics, and I liked the facility itself and the apartment she would be in. For us the apartment size is great for what she needs. The one negative is that they are not consistent on the cleaning of residents rooms, it is supposed to be cleaned once or twice a week and we do have to remind them often. I would recommend to others looking.

We are very blessed with have found Brookdale, being thousands of miles away from our loved ones in the community, they staff understand our situation and have been very communicative. They are very accommodating when we are trying to get a hold of our loved one, and always answer our questions. They made the transition very smooth and we are so grateful. They are starting to get involved with the activities, for awhile they were limited to what they could and could not do, but the community is now starting to plan outings to different places. Also they seem to be very happy with the meals and dining service.

this facility meets my loved ones' needs.

I think if your family needs very specialized care, for instance extra nursing, maybe it's not the best place. But I think it's a great place if you don't really need a lot of extra care and you can get around and go on outings. For wheelchair-bound people, it's a harder place to get around. I think a lot of these assisted living places aren't really equipped for that in the living spaces - sinks and cabinets and things. Activities tended to be the same thing over and over, bingo and a couple of other activities. Most of the staff were fantastic, just phenomenal and hardworking.

This is a super secure dementia location, so I felt like my loved one was safe the whole time he was there. He didn't have the opportunity to wander much, but I would not have worried about it. The care staff was fine, although I had some issues with the administrative staff. But the care staff's communication with hospice was very good. It was a beautiful place, with nice furnishings. Everything seemed very clean, and I felt it was a very comfortable environment for the residents. And their cost is in line with other care facilities.

So far it has been pretty good experience with Brookdale Union Hills. I know that they have very good staff members and also the staff to resident ratio is very high. I would recommend them to other families who are looking.

The only problem we've had is from day one, we had our loved one's payments set up to be automatically withdrawn form her bank. The month passed, and we were waiting and waiting. Still no withdrawal from her bank account. We called Brookdale, and they said it was all taken care of. It ended up taking two months to get it resolved. And in the meantime we got a nastygram about the overdue account. But that should be all resolved at this point. And accounting /bookkeeping is the only problem we've had. Everything else has been just fine. They seem very involved with their residents. The manager there does a really nice job. And the facility is nicely kept. I haven't seen anything I've been concerned about.

We toured Brookdale Broadmoor and the facility seemed nice and the guy who showed us around was personable and friendly. I did not see many residents or staff members out and about so there was not a lot of interaction. I just did not get the same feel as I got at another facility.

They are taking very good care of my parents. The director is very responsive to any questions or concerns that we may have. They have movies everyday and my parents enjoy happy hour a few times a week. They have socials and musicians come in to the community. My loved ones have also made a lot of crafts. There is also a dining club and they can sign up to go out to a restaurant. They have also made a lot of friends while being here. This community also allowed for my loved ones to stay together and was still close to the area that they were used to.

We did a virtual tour with Brookdale Sevierville. The facility looked very nice, but it did not have a big outdoor open courtyard area which is something we were looking for.

Facility is well run and employees are helpful and friendly. Can improve dining experience by making less order mistakes (lost orders, wrong item) and speeding up service.

The cost is high but compared to everyone else it is a good price. I recommend this property. The staff are very engaged in keeping the residents busy and occupied which in my loved ones case is very important.

We chose Brookdale Farmington Hills because of the value for the money. The apartment sizes are adequate for what she needs. She does like the food but does say that there is not a lot of vegetarian dishes/options avilable. I would recommend to others looking.

We toured Brookdale Mentor and it is a newer, very beautiful facility. We really liked the setting. The rooms here were spacious, it was our 2nd choice.

I would highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff is available to speak to if I have questions or concerns about my loved one. The community is extremely clean. They always have some type of activity going on and they provide a calendar of events.

I think this is a good community. There are several things that worked for my loved one here, and this was a big plus for us. There are views of the garden here. It is a smaller community. My loved one is content here. The staff and residents are friendly.

Our family was able to have an in person tour and Brookdale is a very looking community and kept very clean. We aren't really able to talk much about the staff since we only worked with the one person. However, the biggest thing for our loved one were the room sizes, they were very small and almost economy based. It felt more like living in a box.

During the short stay my love done had here we had trouble with the head nurse. However, the rest of the staff was wonderful to work with our loved one. There were several breakdowns of the elevator within the community during our stay.
