Brookdale

This was a clean community and I felt that my loved one was safe there. There are a lot of rules due to covid and precautions and my loved one struggles with this. The staff are great they just have to enforce these rules and my loved one is not happy about not being able to see us all at the same time.

This is a good community and they have a lot of activities. The food however, is not really good and a lot of the residents complain about to much pepper on the food. Sometimes the nurses miss medications and we have some concerns .

This community was very nice it was just to expensive. The staff were very nice this was just out of our loved ones range.

The community is very neat and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. They do a great job taking care of my loved one and the food and activities are great also. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

This community was a beautiful facility. The only thing that we did not like is that our loved ones apartment was going to be farther away from where the meals and activities were and she needed to be closer.

The care taking staff are phenomenal. They are very compassionate and patient. The activity director is wonderful and has a lot of energy. She makes sure that the residents are engaged in the activities.

We chose Brookdale because it is a lovely facility, we liked it very much. The apartment sizes are great, but the closet space could be bigger. My loved one enjoys the food that they serve very much. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

We read a lot of reviews, and Brookdale Fort Collins had the best reviews that we saw. We've noticed that others have tended to have some of the same complaints as we do, mostly revolving around cleanliness and food. I would say you definitely have to go there and make sure they're not getting complacent with their duties, especially regarding cleaning. I also think they need to look at their food a little bit. I haven't tried it, but I wasn't impressed with a meal I saw the other day. It was just a pile of yellow corn and a tortilla. There was no other color or vegetables on the plate, especially green vegetables. But my loved one seems to be making friends and adjusting well. And I think they're doing a good job keeping the residents safe from Covid, for instance requiring masks and checking visitors' temperatures. I'm hopeful that as Covid eases they'll be able to go on more outings.

Our parents picked the Brookdale Jones community mainly based on location, it is in a very familiar area, and the price was less then others in the area. One thing that was a little inconvenience for our loved ones is that before moving in we were told the carpet, counter-tops, and appliances were going to be replaced, however they did not happen and they had to work around the people coming and going out of their apartment to replace those things.

We toured Brookdale Belle Meade and it just did not seem as kept up or as organized as some of the others that we looked into. The lady who showed us around was very sweet.

We had a great experience with the general manager, who first interviewed us and was extremely nice. I think because of Covid, it was different than it would have been normally. My loved one was one of the youngest people there, and he wasn't particularly happy because of that. But he had a nice room of his own, his own bathroom, and a kitchen area. It was very clean. They would come in once a week to clean the residents' rooms. He was just unhappy because everyone was so much older than he was. He didn't care for the food, which didn't have much salt in it as it was geared toward elderly people with blood pressure issues. To me, it looked appetizing, and the menu choices looked good. There were not many activities due to Covid, although they had things like bingo. But they had stopped the outings and excursions. I thought it was quite expensive, especially when you consider extras for different a la carte care options - medication assistance, depends, showering, etc. But I don't know what other places are charging.

Overall our loved one is happy with the Brookdale community. Our loved one used to be a home chef so when it comes to the meals she tends to be more picky, but we have tried the meals themselves and we think they are good. The staff and everyone we have met with are very friendly and personable. They know all of the residents names and their families who come to visit. It is a smaller community which our loved one wanted, she enjoys the morning exercises and the bingo and card games in the afternoons. However we aren't sure what is happening, our loved one has been in the community for a few months now and still has not seen the doctor one time to get her initial evaluation. We keep asking about it, but so far nothing has come of it.

It is a beautiful spot and worth looking into. The community is finding it hard to find staff, and some of the newer staff isn't as trained as they could be. There were choices for meals for the residents to choose from.

We pleased with the community. Compared to other communities that we looked at, this community's overall ambiance was lovely. They have nooks for puzzles, garden areas. There is always staff around if you need assistance. There are rocking chairs on the porches for the residents to use.

They're pretty communicative in terms of letting me know what's going on with my mom when I'm not there. They send me pictures of her doing different activities, which helps me feel comfortable with what's goin on with her. I wish the doctors would contact me more after appointments since my loved one has dementia, but I don't know that that's on Brookdale, more the individual doctors themselves. The staff are very friendly. I seem them interact with my mom and the other residents, and they're always smiling like it's their own mom or sister, etc. They treat them like family.

My brother was the one who had a virtual tour with Brookdale. He liked the facility but just not as much as the one that he was able to see in person.

I love the community. The community has a very friendly atmosphere. The room is comfy and nice size for my loved one. I've had a great experience with the staff. The food is horrible according to my loved one. The food was bland the one time I ate there. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

I had a good tour with Brookdale Baywood. The only reason we did not choose this facility was because we did not meet any of the staff members. When you are choosing a place for your loved one, you want to feel comfortable with the people who were taking care of them and I just did not get a feel for them at all.

The quality of the staff is excellent. They do a great job with the programs and the staff is very friendly and helpful I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

Our family had an in person tour and we were able to get a good feel for the community. We also were able to eat the meals, and tour multiple different models. They had a newer assisted living building that was extremely nice, and an older assisted living building. We did not go with Brookdale, because they weren't able to guarantee a transfer service for our loved one to get from the newer building to the older building and the main building. They offered it, but it was for a set rate and we would have to pay extra if we wanted him transferred more frequently.
