Brookdale

They were one of my top 2 choices. My tour was a virtual tour due to the pandemic. Brookdale has rooms that accommodate only a twin size bed. The resident's rooms don't include a shower, so residents would have to go to a private shower room.

Our family had a virtual tour because Brookdale was under a pretty strict lock down at the time, but the gentlemen that showed us around did a really good job. Given the circumstances the tour went really well.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. Overall, I have been pleased with them. The community doesn't have enough options for dietary restrictions. The staff is pretty easy to work with, and accessible to answer questions or address concerns.

I would tell others that if you like outgoing and friendly people this is a good place to be. Some of the activities that are offered are: local trips to restaurants, and sites in Huntsville, a singing group, puzzles, electronic workshops, and more for the residents to choose from. The food is very good, with a lot of variety, and consistency during the month.

Overall its been a good experience. They're a little slow on the maintenance part of it. There are a few minor things in my loved one's room that haven't gotten the attention that they need. But overall, I would mostly recommend them. Although I'm not sure if I would do it over again. Communication can be somewhat lax. They want you to call a day ahead of time to let them know you're coming to visit, and often that doesn't get communicated to the other staff. So they're surprised when you show up. But the day to day staff seem knowledgeable. Some of the personnel is just outstanding. I can't say enough good things about the activities director. My loved one seems to enjoy the food. And I've really seen a dramatic improvement in her physical wellbeing after the first couple of months. That's gone backward a little bit since then, at no fault of Brookdale Briargate.

The staff are very nice and helpful, and they do a great job keeping the community clean. The meals and dining however needs improvement the quality of the meals are not consistent. When I first moved in they were great for a few weeks, but after that the quality has just gone up and down up and down.

We toured with Brookdale and we felt that the facility was too big for the level of care that our loved one needed.

I wish the community would have been better at communication the changes that was going on for my loved one. This would have made the transition a little easier on my loved one. The food was good for the first month, and now there have been changes. This has caused the food to not be as good as it was for my loved one.

It is a very safe place for a new home for somebody. The community was very careful during the pandemic. The staff took care of knowing what each resident needed. The community is able to meet dietary restrictions, such as pureed food. The director take each residents like their best friend. A lot of the staff feel like family.

Brookdale has been a really good place for my Dad. The staff is very good and kind. They are always very responsive. I appreciate them all very much. It's good to know Dad is well taken care of since I'm not in the same city.

There are always rooms for improvements but we do think they are doing a good job and we know they are a little short staffed. Overall our loved one says she is happy there. The staff do a good job communicating with our family, and any time we have had issues they solve it quickly. Our loved one was able to bring her own furniture into the apartment which she really liked. Also, they are pet friendly so when I come to visit I can bring my dog which makes her and the other residents so happy.

We toured this community and the tour was very good. They answered all of our questions and were very informative. They were very accommodating and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We did not feel rushed at all and they took their time with our family. unfortunately, the community just didn't fit the needs of our loved ones.

Brookdale in South Windsor, CT is a relatively small, supportive assisted living community that strives to serve its residents to the best of their ability, despite the many challenges presented by the pandemic. It is a cheerful and welcoming residence with good nursing care and an attentive administrative staff who help create a friendly family atmosphere.

We chose Brookdale Trail Ridge because they already have all tech if we need it and it was very nice when we visited, everyone was friendly. The room sizes are adequate for what she needs. She really enjoys the food that is served here, they are prepared on site. I would recommend to others looking.

I would recommend this community based on my experience

Our loved one has been there for several months now. I like that when I walk in, the girl at the front desk knows who I am and accommodates me in getting in and out quickly before I go to work. They take an interest in getting to know the residents and their family members, which means a lot. The people who work there are always upbeat, and you see the residents up and out of their rooms and participating in activities. Overall for an assisited living facility, they do an excellent job of communicating what's going on, and they call you back when you call with an issue. I think they do a great job, especially considering we're in the pandemic still. They're conveniently located and close to where we live, so we can drop by often and bring our loved one food. Our loved one is not a huge fan of the food, but I think that would be the case anywhere she were to live. They do what they can with activities considering the pandemic. The value they provide is not just a dollar value. As my loved one's primary caretaker, the weight they take off my shoulders and the improvement in my mental state, as well as all they do for my loved one, is worth so much more to me than just money. They're also less expensive but still a great quality. We were lucky to get in on a great special. For anyone looking for high quality care that's not overly expensive, I would highly suggest Brookdale New Port Richey to them.

Our family was able to have an in person tour and the tour was nice but they only showed us the memory care side and our loved one had mild dementia. Another community was willing to accept our loved on but on the assisted living side, which we thought would be a better living situation for them.

My mom has been there for a year of so and they have taken great care of her and wonderful living space. They have done a great job keeping her from contact with COVID-19. Thanks for all you have done for her in her last years.

In the memory care area they need more cleaning of the rooms. They clean twice a week that is part of the monthly fee for the rooms. There could be more staff available for the residents in the memory care area.

We toured this community and the tour was very good. They answered all of our questions and were very informative. They were very accommodating and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The only issue we had is that the pricing was higher than other places in our area.
