Their MC is super small and only for advanced disease, so much more open and even encouraging for assisted living until progressed. And can transfer to other facilities if I preferred another sites MC

I would recommend the community; however, there is a lack of communication between staff members. There has been a high turnover in the kitchen staff. There are times the meals are wrong, late, or not delivered at all. This seems to be continual and I would like to see a change in the protocols for food. Also, the food not being correct can cause issues with the residents. The community is very friendly to the residents and families.

It's a good group of people. The staff is very kind, which I think is an important and huge part of it. And management does a good job. If only the food wasn't so horrible. They say everything is from scratch, but that's not true. There's never any fresh vegetables, and never any fresh fruit, even though they tell you they provide it. The meat is unidentifiable, tough, and tastes terrible. They also give out lots of processed, sugary treats. From what I've seen, they haven't been cleaning my loved one's room as much as I would like. They also said they would accommodate for disabilities and have all kinds of activities for her, and they haven't. For what we pay, the food is pretty crummy, but the place itself is nice. They're good people, and the community is in a very pretty location with pretty views out the windows. There's a nice walking loop on the property. And they do a good job of keeping my loved one included in the daily walks. Also the director is a really nice guy. Overall it's been a positive experience.

visited Brookdale Lakeway and Brookdale Lohman's Crossing. Lakeway: clean, nice rooms, friendly, multilevel, a few residents reading, game table, not a lot of conversation. Lohman's more active, small, nice outdoor area, a lot of activity, clean, attentive staff. Friendly.

[name removed] was wonderful. Answered all our question, the Facility had a lot of what we would like to have. Enjoyed the tour.

This was a nice community and smaller than we wanted. This was further away than we wanted for our loved one and that was the downfall.

The staff is very good. In fact, a lot of them have been there for over 10 years. They're very attentive, and they've even helped me to get back to somewhat of a normal life now that they're taking care of my loved one. They've made suggestions and things for me to get back to a more normal way of doing things. I find the place to be clean. I know they did some remodeling, so it's all updated. They even changed out all the beds and got new mattresses for everybody a few months ago. Overall I'm very, very satisfied.

Cleanliness was good, maybe a little higher standard than normal due to Covid. They took Covid precautions very seriously, and provided masks and shields for visitors. A couple of times I had to wear PPE gowns/vests. The staff was always aware when we walked in the door, and the residents would always help hail somebody down if the front desk was on the phone or something. The response was always great very time we came in to visit, and everyone always said hello., I have utter confidence in the staff that are there. I think they are all well qualified. But perhaps because it's a larger facility, my loved one in respite care didn't get checked on as much as I would have liked. Also with Covid, I'm sure they had additional responsibilities that spread their staff more thin. But my loved one was pretty much left alone and not really looked at on a regular basis. She spent days in bed because she didn't really feel like doing anything. I was a little disappointed that they didn't encourage her more to at least get up and sit in her chair, and the fact that they didn't try to have more interaction with her other than delivering her meals. I understand she was in quarantine for a while, and she was there on a respite stay, but I just expected more from them and was a little frustrated they didn't help her get up and around more. She also had an ER visit while she was there, and no one had checked her room while she was gone. So there was a bathroom smell in her room when we came back. We decided to move her just so she could be checked on a little bit more. They were very gracious in the move-out process. I had no problems with the staff - from the custodian, to the med techs, to the people at the front desk, the director, admissions, everybody. The director was really wonderful and recommended bringing some things from home to make it feel more comfortable when she first move in. He saw one of the paintings from a local artist that we had brought, and he actually contacted the artist and facilitated getting us another painting, which was really cool. I was just disappointed that they didn't check on her more. The food was pretty good, and she actually started eating more while she was there and gained a little bit of weight, which was healthier for her. In general with any assisted living, its difficult to anticipate the price. There's a community fee upfront, plus monthly rent, plus monthly level of care. So the cost was a lot higher than I was expecting, but it was definitely lower than receiving that type of care at home. They were very upfront about the community fee being non-refundable after move-in. Even losing that community fee after we moved out, it was still less than hiring private care at home.

I think the surroundings and community are beautiful. The entertainment and food from the kitchen are great and the caregiving staff are so friendly. My only complaint is that I wish they would stay longer.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The office staff is very helpful. The community does a great job at working with the residents to keep them motivated and active.

They want everyone to use their medical services so that no one leaves the facility right now. They are still locked down pretty tight and we hope that ends soon. They only have visitation for 2 hours during the day so it can be hard to visit.

The thing I like most about Brookdale West Boynton Beach has been the location of the facility.

The community is clean and friendly. The staff seem to work with you. The community is short of staff, and sometimes they can't get all the residents to activities. They try the best they can to assist the residents.

I would recommend it. They have options for a studio or 1-bedroom apartment. The apartments are very nice, have adequate space, and can be very homey. I like the layout. One thing I like better than a past experience we had at a different community is the director up-front gave me contact information for different people in different departments, emails and extensions, so I don't have to be transferred all over when I have a question. I know who to go to, and they've all been very responsive in returning my calls and emails. With Covid, I haven't been able to be there a whole lot, but they've communicated very well with me. It's super clean in there every time I've been in. They always have activities going on and do a great job with that. I looked at a lot of places, and none of them are inexpensive. But for how nice the facility is, Brookdale Hagerstown was the most affordable.

Our family had a virtual and our experience was good, they were able to take us around and show us different rooms. There was good communication and they followed up with our family in a timely manner after the tour. However we decided to go with another community because the location was better for our family.

Our family had an in person tour and our experience was great. It is a very nice facility and the staff we met with and even the residents we met with were all very friendly and nice.

We chose Brookdale Hockessin because of the convenient location of the facility for family, the food looked really good, and the staff members here are really great. They keep in great communication with us and let us know what is going on. My dad loves the food, they are chef prepared meals that are served. I would recommend to others looking.

It is a very good place for the money. The community is clean and safe. My loved one enjoys the dessert options for dinner. Music, pets, cooking, bringing in therapy animals to assist the residents, bingo are all some of the actitiveres offered.
