Brookdale

They have great potential at this community. However, I feel like they are currently understaffed just like any other community right now. I think that they try but at this time they have limited resources to execute as far as personnel. The have games, bingo, bible study, work out classes and more for the residents to do to keep busy at this community.

Make sure you visit them before you make a selection. Based on all the places we have looked at. They have a very good maintenance staff that keeps the place up to date and very clean. My interaction with the nursing staff has been very good.

I really like the cleanliness of the community and anytime I need assistance for something there is always a staff member available. They could work to improve on the quality of the meals - sometimes they are just not very good at all.

The tour was fine at Brookdale Niagara. It was the location we decided against.

We had a good tour. They seemed to be taking care of people well. And the fella who talked with me was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Brookdale was a really nice place but it felt like a maze. There were different dining rooms, different common areas, etc and I thought that would get too confusing for my loved one as their dementia progressed.

I liked this community but the pricing was too high for what we were looking for with our loved one. The tour was great and they gave us all of the information that we needed. Also the location was too far away for where I wanted my loved one to be located.

I think they had a very caring staff. It seemed like a very friendly place. The facility was just a little bit dated.

The community is very clean, and the staff are really friendly. We cannot really speak to how well the activities are ran because our loved one does not participate but every time we visit there is always something going on. We would recommend the Brookdale Summerfield community to others.

The people that are there are great but they are currently short on staff. They are really short on the weekends due to staffing and the shortage of workers. They have been so kind to me and my loved one and they try to do what they can do with the limited amount of staff that they have. The food is great and everyone is nice here but they do need more staff. The activities are great when they have them. They have painting, workouts, talks, trivia and more for the residents to do. They are doing the best that they can do under the circumstances of not having enough people to work here.

It's expensive but it's a good place to be.

Our loved one was there for a short stay due to increasing health issues. But I Thought the community was very supportive and helpful. The process was very easy, and they made it convenient for us. And the facility was very clean as well.

I feel like covid is stopping the activities and once things open up that the activities will get better. Right now they have live music once a week, bingo and they still have church services going on to keep the residents busy and occupied. They have some really good meals and then some meals that are not so good. I would say to do it and check into it and look into this community. I looked at a lot of places and I feel like this was the most affordable and best place for my loved one to be.

in the beginning our experience with Brookdale was good, they were very responsive. we put down a deposit for my loved one to move in, but unfortunately they passed away before being able to use Brookdale's services. we've asked for a refund of the community fees/deposit and have yet to receive it. my only complaint would be that it took a while and multiple phone calls to receive a response.

We live across country, and our loved one is still adjusting to everything since they were pretty restricted still, however it has been a positive experience so far. When we get to speak with her on the phone she talks about how much she likes her apartment, and the food. They are now able to eat in the dining room and she always has positive things to say about the chefs in the kitchen. She really appreciated the access to help, especially at night time there is always someone there to assist if needed. They also take the residents out once a week and give the a tour around town.

Make sure you get what say in writing before you commit. It is a good value for the money. They have updated staffing. They have finished remodeling. This place did not have add on's and it was all included. Plus it has dedicated memory care. Those are the key factors. No place is perfect. This is the closest thing we could get in our time constraints.

This community is okay not too good not too bad just okay. This is a small town and there are not a lot of options. So with the shortages and everything just like everyone else we are dealing with it also.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff stand out to me. The staff are available if I have questions or concerns about my loved one. The food is okay for my loved one. The community has activities for the residents to participate in.

Brookdale Courtyard is a very caring and warm environment, it seemed the most coziest our of the communities we toured. Our loved one has been sick lately so she has not been able to take advantage of the activities but from what we can see on the board they look great. The dining service is no problem, it is the food. The quality at times is just not the best.
