The Citadel is a beautiful and large community. They keep the inside and outside well-maintained and very clean. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The staff is very friendly and welcoming to all of us when we come to visit. My sister in law is very happy with her large two bedrooms, it is exactly what she wanted and she is very happy living there. The dining room is really nice and elegant and the food is excellent. There are all kinds of activities and amenities. She has not had a chance to engage in all that they provide. I would highly recommend The Citadel to friends and family.

We liked the staff we met at this community when we visited. The community looked clean. This community seems to offer some nice amenities and activities. They do allow pets and offer transportation services.

The coordinator from Brookdale was great to work with. She was knowledgable and she let us know that this community would not be the right fit for my loved ones. They needed additional care that this community did not offer. The community seemed awesome. The people were so nice and the community looked very clean.

Very clean, employees seemed to be very friendly. They had entertainment when we arrived and the place was packed. Over all the residents looked very happy.

Not as eager to do things as suggested; however, the location and grounds are wonderful. The food is excellent. Everyone is friendly and, for the most part, accommodating. For the money and for what I wanted and needed, Patriot Heights exceeded all the other options I viewed.

Respite care for 18 days. My sister didn't require care did her own medications. But due to hospitalization and illness previously we decided this was best option. In case something happened while we were out of area. Facility nice, people friendly. My one request was that she be seating at a dining table with people her age if possible (55). And certainly not with people that required feeding help and were less then optimal table mates. Well my sister got the later and unfortunately I didn't find that out until I returned home.? I was not happy. For my 18 days sisters 18 days at the facility we paid almost the same price as the monthly rate. I was told I would need to bring chair, lamp, tv etc. after loading all that up in my car. When we arrived the room was furnished very nicely. So I loaded all my stuff back in the car. It would have been nice to know and saved me ton of labor. I will be in need of a facility again later this summer. I would consider using this facility again because of the friendliness of the staff. However after receiving g a phone call the day I left my sister there. That phone call was not meant for me.. ". So what did you end up charging them" when she realized she was speaking to wrong person she apologized and we hung up.?? So I feel possible a different rate could be negotiated depending on persons needs.

When we went to tour The Citadel, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the facility itself. The problem I had with whoever I was in contact with, when I got there she was completely unaware that we had an appointment. Also, some people walked in and wanted to tour as well, so we all toured together. The tour guide seemed to be oblivious and that turned me off. Also, the facility was almost too big.

My mom doing good and the staff are taking care of her very well, including what the other communities did not want to assist my mom with. The staff are helping her get as comfortable as could be. A Place For Mom gave me a list of places and when we came here, it looked very nice.

I also toured Medalion Retirement Community. This place was very nice and the tour guide that took me around was nice and informative. It was a good experience to tour and there was nothing wrong with this facility, we just found another one that fit out needs a little better.

When I went to tour Healthcare Resort, I realized that they only have Assisted Living there, and we needed a place that offers Memory care. It was a nice community, but not what we were looking for.

My mother has been at The Citadel about 6 weeks and she is still adjusting. They seem to be right on the spot when my mother needs anything. I don't have much to compare the experience to, but it has been good so far. The only thing I wish they would do is to come up with a checklist of things we will need to do upon move in, so new residents are not overwhelmed.

The staff at The Citadel are bending over backwards to help mom adjust to living here. The activities coordinator is good at encouraging her to participate in the tons of activities they offer. They offer activities such as cards, happy hour and church services. It is easy to get around the community and the maintenance staff are quick to respond. The food is terrible, they do not serve food to the residences, they have to serve themselves. Other communities I looked at offered money towards food, but that option is no longer available at Citadel. The place seems clean and I like that there are places outdoor to sit.

My mother needed to build strength after multiple falls and a hospital stay. We chose this place as it was close to family. They accepted her medicare/medicaid and treat her well. She's been there a few weeks. The social workers, nurses, and staff we've met with have been helpful and kind. We visit at least 4-5 days a week and every time there have been activities happening. We typically will wheel her around the facility and the only negative is that in the long term side of the facility there is the odor of urine in the hallway in the region of the laundry. Mom also has incontinent issues so that is not an unexpected odor to smell - unfortunate that its a concentrated odor in that hallway area. My mom is in her late 80's, she's difficult and does not mix well. She was a reluctant rehab patient but the nurses and physical therapists and assistants have been patient, kind, encouraging and are helping her transition to using a wheel chair for safety reasons. She often refuses to participate in activities but they come by her room and offer tea or a treat, puzzles, magazines, etc. She likes the food they serve her too. Recently she's even said it might be okay to live there.

I am happy to know that my grandmother is in great care here. We like the staff and how caring and friendly they have been to our needs. She is happy with the variety of meals. She is offered activities. The community is very clean. I do recommend the excellent care here for other families for a good value and excellent care.

My mother originally lived in Sunrise, about 5 years. She would engage in some activities, rarely, and as her memory left her, the engagement diminished and so did her happiness. Moving to Katella Senior memory care unit was the best decision I made. She is more confused, but less angry and paranoid, and seems to be participating in the activities more. She enjoys the music and exercise classes that are lead by people who are enthusiastic about what they do and it shows. The staff takes time to know their residents and seem to enjoy them. This is a wonderful place to have your loved one.

This is nice community for my mom. A clean community in everyway. The food is very good and a variety. Alot of activities for her to enjoy. I would highly recommend this community for great care and value.

I was surprised at the property and the staff. The rooms were larger than the small community homes. Pets are able to visit.

My parents were both happy at this location. We did move them closer to home, but they were very pleased with the great care they received while they were there. The food was excellent and very pleasing to them both. The staff was wonderful and always wanted to make sure that their needs were met. I would recommend this for good care for family or friends.

The people that assisted me with my tour of this community were nice and knowledgeable. The community looked clean and well taken care of. I was not able to try to food there. They have a swimming pool available for the residents.

Mom was at this community for about 3 weeks before she had to go back into the hospital. While she was there the staff was good to work with. My only concern is that when she had her stroke it did not seem like anyone did anything to help her. The food is good and they offer a wide variety of quality food. I would recommend this community for people that do not need a lot of monitoring.
