Brookdale

The only reason why I didn’t chose this facility is because the location was not near my Mother’s doctor. Even though I didn’t pick this facility, I was still rooting for them. The woman who gave me the tour actually worked at this location and another sister location. She was telling me about all of the employees who have been here for 10 to 20 years and I was impressed. Brookdale must be a great employer if they are keeping their employees around for 20 years. I like that because it means that the employees actually want to be there and they will take great care of the residents. I would recommend this community.

We have received help while looking for a place for my loved one. A Place for Mom has really been a great starting point in assisting us to find a community. Out of their recommendations this location is the best fit for my mother. It’s convenient because she is near a few relatives that could visit her frequently. The facility was very clean and it seemed that the residents were well maintained, especially the patients that in pretty bad shape. It also didn’t have a bad smell in the air. Many people that are there have a really serious case of dementia, but everyone seems to be well cared for. In the short amount of time that my loved one has been here, everything has been going well.

When I toured this community it was a nice new building. The staff was friendly and they answered all of my questions. It was just so big just wasn't a good fit for my mom. They had education classes for the family about dementia which is nice.

I toured here when looking for a place for my sister and I liked it. It’s close to home and I was leaning towards it initially but after doing the tour with my sister, it appeared that they weren’t quite ready for operation. It was a superficial walk through of things. The facility was homey. The first time I toured it alone was right after the big storm and they were flooded, they were remodeling it and fixing it all up. The rooms were nice and everything was new because they had redone everything but my sister just didn’t seem to like it and we decided on a different facility because they didn’t seem to be ready to start caring for people.

My Mother-in-law is here. The place is clean and they’re very timely with meals. They don’t have a set breakfast and they’ll serve whatever the residents want. It’s served until 9am but even if you show up late, like 5 minutes to 9, they’ll still serve you. She really likes the idea of being served at dinner with a waiter so this works well for her and it is really nice. There was a place that she was at before here and it took almost 2 hours just to get the food. The residents are allowed to update their apartments and she got a gem of an apartment because the residents before her had updated everything. My only complaint is that the maintenance man is very nice but I think he might have some personal problems going on. He took something off of her door because it had broken, 3 weeks ago, and said he would come back and fix it but he never came back. Housekeeping comes by every 2 weeks to clean the apartment but my Mother-in-law has to wash her own sheets and things like that. She’s been able to plan it out, though, so that when housekeeping comes by, they’ll make the bed for her. There are guard rails along the hallways and in the bathroom for added safety. It’s really a pleasant place. The hallway that she’s in has an outside door that has a keypad where you have to put in a code to get in, so it’s secure. They have some extra TLC it seems with the staff – the waiters will run over and get peoples’ walkers without even being asked whenever meals are finished. Everyone knows the residents’ names and that’s really nice.

This facility is very nice and well maintained. They do the best that they can with what they have. All of the staff members seem to care a lot about my Father. The reason why I chose this community over others is that they have a memory care unit while other places don't. The only negative feedback I have about this facility is that I wish they would communicate with me better on my dad’s health. I would recommend this facility.

I toured here when looking for a place for my friend and just from what I saw, they were impressive. It was hard to make a decision but once I realized they didn’t have a skilled care level, we decided to go with a different community. I didn’t want to have to put my friend through another move because of how disruptive it can be. Things seemed to be gauged for each person and their needs and there were activities 7 days a week. There were plenty of people to help with all of those things. The staff and the communication were really good and they interacted with the other residents very well.

Beautiful facility providing so many amenities. Fabulous place to spend your golden years. Sales Manager, [Removed] goes out of her way to exceed resident expectations in every facet. I attend events there regularly and would recommend it to anyone looking to make the transition from home to assisted living. You will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Generally, I feel that Brookdale is very good. My loved one needs just about every kind of care, and they are able to Accommodate her needs. The staff is very helpful there, and if you get there early, the meals are pretty good. If you get there too late, things are cold. I do wish they had more activities for the residents. Other places I looked at had much more going on, and I'd like to see more exciting, mentally stimulating things rather than just bingo or little things like that. Overall though, Brookdale has been treating my loved well.

Staff is courteous, eager to please and friendly.

Beckett Meadows has been helpful, responsive, and caring for my 90 yr old mother with memory issues. However the memory care unit does not have skilled nursing care, and that is what she needs now.

My mom just stayed here for respite care for about 30 days. I was an Ok stay just in the first week her toilet seat was broken and we put in several request to get it fixed I almost thought I was going to have to go buy a new seat and replace it for her. The staff was nice and attentive. The food was good here. They had lots of daily activities like sewing and crafts they had bible study. I would recommend this community.

I chose this facility because of the location. It was very convenient for me to be able to visit my Mother. When I started my search for places last year, the administrator and his assistant made arrangements for my family and I to take a tour at 9 p.m. This was the only facility that was even willing to accommodate our needs. [Removed], that administrator, worked really hard and diligently to get my mom a respite bed within 4 hours. The staff members were all professional, positive, and considerate. They really understand the population that they serve. I would recommend this facility.

While I was in the process of helping my loved one move to this community, I unfortunately faced some issues with the staff team. The first two weeks that we were there, they did not do what they said that they were going to do even though I was paying for the service and care. No one was helping with any kind of assistance. After those two weeks, I had to complain to one of the team members and let them know what was happening and what we were facing. The lady I had spoken to said “I apologize and we need to do better”. I really did appreciate this apology and they did improve. They even adjusted the billing, so eventually we got it all together. Aside from this little mishap, I would definitely still recommend this community to others. The only thing I would have to say is that you may want to stay on top of things. I call in and I also visit my loved one when I need to just to make sure that she is ok. The cleaning staff has helped her with her laundry and come in to vacuum. They keep the facility clean. My loved one likes the food, she feels comfortable, and the medical team takes good care of my loved one’s medicine which was really important.

I took a tour here when I was trying to find a place for my loved one and I felt like maybe we wasted each other’s time. I was told that the room was one price at the beginning of the tour, but then everything else is a la cart almost, like everything is an additional cost. I kind of wish they had been straight forward about that at the very beginning. The person that gave me the tour seemed knowledgeable and nice, so there’s nothing bad to say about them in that aspect. The facility looked a lot nicer than some other places, but there was a big price difference.

Very nice, but on the high end of cost

From every facility I have toured, this place has the best nursing staff in my opinion. Most of the staff has a 15-year average. Also, there is a very low resident and staff turn over rate. The only downside to this facility is that the rooms are smaller than what I was needing. The facility is older which is why the rooms are smaller. I needed a room to fit both of my parents and a nurse that I have hired for them. If it wasn't for that one problem, I would have picked this facility and gave them a higher rating. This community just didn't fit my needs. I would recommend this facility.

Mom is here at this community and loves it. The only thing I have any issues with is that they need more staff at night. The staff is very friendly and caring. The dining area is nice and the food is good. It is always clean. They also have a bus to take them to doctor's appointments and such. The grounds are well maintained. I would recommend this community.

[Removed] was very helpful, she explained everything & answered all my ? I liked the facility & what they had to offer. It's a little pricey I think for us, & after viewing the other facility, I am thinking my dad may be ok in just an independent living facility where they fix there meals & house keeping. We'll see.

Thank god every day that I live in this community. The building are very clean and well kept. The staff is very nice, very friendly. They know everyone’s first names. The food is very good. I saved about 30# the first year I was here. I like the activities. I am kept busy and mentally and physically.
