Brookdale

I've only done a virtual tour because of covid but have done it twice. I like what I've seen so far. The building looks charming & staff on video seem caring but I would definitely have to visit this place physically before I chose this for my mother. [Name removed], the sales manager has been wonderful to work & generous with her time & very patient with me & my brother's questions.

It has a good location. Some of the staff are fantastic, some are just so so. [Name removed] is awesome she goes above and beyond, some of the other staff are not as great. We like that the memory care unit is larger then many we had seen. We also like the larger courtyard area.The food is average. The downside is that they do not have skilled nursing on site. That is the biggest negative for us. My mom needed to go to rehab. It would have been nicer to have that onsite. I would recommend the community to others.

It seemed to us that the staff at Brookdale Arbor Place often rotated around the building, which meant there were always new people assisting my mother. At her previous community she had around 4-5 caregivers, but at Brookdale she had quite a bit more than that.The staff was always very friendly to her and to our family. The care was always great, however because of the high rotation, they weren't able to get to know her quite as well as at her previous community. My mother didn't often attend activities, partially because the staff wasn't as engaged with the residents encouraging them to be more involved. This meant participation at community events was often low. Brookdale Arbor Place is a large community with a lot of very friendly staff. This would be a great community for a senior who is more active and self-sufficient.

The director of nursing was always friendly and approachable, But once my dad got there, we quickly realized that is wasn't the right fit for him and his care needs. We chose Brookdale in a pinch because my dad was finally willing to move somewhere and they had available. It really is a beautiful facility, always seemed cleaned, and the food was good. We had constant billing issues though.

The Brookdale Claremore is a pretty nice place. We chose it for the location because it is close to my mom's house so she can visit my dad. We thought he would do well there and it's a real nice facility. We really like the honesty of the staff and the care is good. I can call anytime to talk to him and the communication is good. Also, the price is good compared the other facilities.

Location played a big role in our decision. It is affordable. We like that its is a smaller community not one of those bigger places where someone can get lost in the shuffle.They could use more activities.They are taking good care of my mom, she is happy there.

We placed my father here and he is very happy and content. He is in the one bedroom apartment. He loves the meals and the coffee! I get prompt responses when I have to check up on him or have a question. I do feel the staff is somewhat limited (in the middle of the corona virus pandemic) at times. It may have been helpful to receive a list of contacts in the facility to know who to contact for various questions; however, my dad may have received that in-house and due to the fact we cannot visit now I'm not totally in the know. I would also say that the pricing contract was very confusing and not itemized well, there was a hidden personal service rate not well explained during our research. It took several attempts to get the correct figures and there were too many 'hands in the pot' getting it right. Other than that, we are grateful for the kind and caring staff.

[Name removed] the activities coordinator is wonderful if it was not for her I would not be as happy as I am at Brookdale Carriage Club. She is always prompt about calling me back, she lets my mom talk to me on her cellphone and help her Facetime with me. During the Covid-19 crisis the salon is closed she has been washing my mom's hair for her. [Name removed] sent a letter to the families asking them to send letters and photos so she could create a box for each resident that she can go through with them so they do not feel so isolated and alone during this time. The LPN that gives the meds is very personable. The communication with the administration has not been as prompt or clear. They sent us a letter about a missing payment that was actually an error on their part. I looked at 6 places while my mom was in the hospital, narrowed it down to two places and had to make a very quick decision.

Brookdale East Niskayunahas been very conccientious in there care for residents and keeping them safe at this time with Covid -19. Prior to the quarantine my sister was able to attend Mass at the community with my aunt and that was really nice. My aunt has been happy there.

My husband has Alzheimer's and had a stroke and they have been really good with his care. They are very patient and kind with him. The staff told me that they really like my husband, which is nice to hear. I am pleased with his care. They had a beauty salon for haircuts, pedicures and manicures which I like. My husband attended a singalong and he enjoyed it very much. The dining staff did a questionnaire of my husband's likes and dislikes regarding the food and they do follow that. The food is plain, not spicy, and very healthy. It is a beautiful facility and well cared for.

We have had a very good interaction with the staff namely [name removed]. Helpful and compassionate. Housekeeping very helpful. Shuttle driver great The only issue we have is with dinning services. There seems to be a break in the chain between workers and management staff. Food is fair, but the whole food service seems to be in a disorganization. Requests are not honored as stated by management and unhappiness with quality among majority of residents. A good majority of the time food brought to table is cold. My mother has gotten salads from time to time with only lettuce nothing else. When she has requested alternatives which we were assured was OK she does not get them. Last evening she asked for milk and was told they were out. We would hope this will be resolved as the facility seems to be a good place as a whole.

Residents are cared for in a proper manner. Caretakers are friendly and helpful. The sections of Brookdale we have seen are very clean and welll kept.

Not really aware how their billing was done. If you request assistance once you’re billed for that service the entire month. Really hikes the bill up.

Overall my dad and I were really impressed with this community. The floor plans for the one bedroom are spacious. We like the full kitchenette. The staff were extremely friendly. We liked the option of covered parking.

This was a very nice small community in a very quiet location. No freeway traffic. With its size, my Mom would be at ease coming and going and not be overwhelmed. Small enough to know the whole staff and its residence. The place was clean, homey, and had a nice size enclosed outdoor patio and garden. Good for an outdoor family gathering.

Had a great visit today. Met some terrific staff who were fully engaged with the residents.

Lovely facility. My mother was impressed by how clean it was and the size of the apartment. They provided us lunch in the dining room, which was delicious. Everyone we spoke to was very open and answered all of our questions.
