Brookdale

Overall the experience has been good. Everyone there is very helpful and friendly.

Price is good and services appear good also. My wife felt it looked too much like a nursing home though.

Staff very friendly and residents seem to be very happy. Dinning area very pleasant.

i really really liked it but it is quite expensive, that is why i am rating it 4 stars. it seems like a very good place though and i liked the staff person who talked to us and showed us around. very knowledgeable and very very nice. would consider if we felt we could afford it.

[Name removed] provided an excellent introduction to this facility. The commons areas were pleasant, well-appointed and well maintained. The interiors of the apartment and the cottage we looked at seemed adequate however the kitchen was quite dated. [Name removed] explained that these features were scheduled to be upgraded next year. At this point in my search, I am most interested in the cottages but find the exterior and landscaping around them to be disappointing. The screen porches on apartments and cottages and allowance for dogs are definite pluses for me.

Brookdale has been a great experience for my husband. He is involved in activities and enjoys being able to have our dog may visit and even sit in the courtyard. The staff is very friendly and caring. There are only a few issues. He would like to have more than one choice for meals, and have more aides understand how to deal with an ileostomy.

Very nice and modern facility. Staff and residents seem engaged. It is on a busy street, but may not be a concern if resident does not drive. Seems like a nice place for the cost.

Nice, active facility. Not the level of care needed. It was a Type A, we needed a Type B. Contact person was very kind and friendly. Welcoming environment.

I toured the Beckett Meadows location not too long ago and was impressed with the atmosphere within the residence. The residents appeared happy and were actively engaged (I.e. with peers, staff, family, games, etc.). I had an opportunity to meet the dietary manager, who was very proud of her dish- especially the desert. This was supported by the few residents who were still eating or returning for seconds. The community was clean and felt very home-like. [Name removed] and his friendly team seem to be doing stand up job in providing a positive culture for the residents, families, and one another.

nice, well kept community. Residents were about but relaxed. ALL staff seemed vested in community well being. Sales staff kind and not pushy. Community areas were very nice and cozy. Bathrooms built for safety. Rooms provide safe and comfortable autonomy, but, if needed, help is seconds away.

I am very satisfied with my mother's residence and care. Nothing is perfect, and I have had some unpleasant experiences, but I have also had experiences when my expectations were exceeded. [Name removed], the sales and marketing manager, will bend over backwards to assist families who need help bringing their loved ones to Brookdale. I couldn't have done it without her. The Clare Bridge program is outstanding, and the program manager, [name removed], works well with my mother. My mother's happiness factor increased tenfold since she's been at Brookdale. Sometimes, the staff doesn't communicate with me in the manner I prefer. Emails and telephone calls go un-returned. I don't mean returned later, I mean completely not acknowledged. We are working on this. Brookdale is clean, modern, conveniently located, with plenty of parking. The staff members are helpful, and most are friendly. The food is great, the activities are numerous, and even pets are allowed in most situations. I am confident in my mother's care and safety.

extremely nice people. When we arrived for our tour, the home van was unloading a group that had been out on a day trip. on a pontoon boat at the lake and a picnic. They were all so happy. [Name removed] answered all our questions and took us on a tour. No way to know what it would be like to live there yet. However, the residents appeared to be happy and content.

The employees at Brookdale University Park are friendly and helpful.

I have lived here for 12 years so I certainly am happy. Best thing about here is that everyone is friendly (residents and help). Yes, sometimes I'm not happy about meal, but I don't have to do the cooking or cleaning! We could use more employees but it is what it is!

Nice facility and location. The building is 3 stories high with courtyard in the middle. They seem to offer a lot of activities for the residents. Have a designated Respite care room on the second floor. Close to shopping if residents are able to walk there.

Liked it here, felt a little like home smaller environment but nice. Our only concern was the staff. The 2 we spoke to had every little time on the job.

I have my mother in law staying there my first impression was place is clean the people are nice.. I went to her room and it is very nice apartment style 2 people have to share one bathroom. But that's not bad I can take her to stores or wherever she wants to go.. The meals are nice and they have a very nice eating area .. My mother in law is better there than where she was staying.. She is Hispanic and loves to talk to workers I think its working out well for her. They make sure she takes her meds and there is a nurse watching each floor I have spoken with people living there and they say they like it there

[Name removed] was fantastic and the community had a very warm feeling. Great rapport with contact liaison and the residents. Sadly my father was not a good fit.

For the price I might as well put her in Apostolic Home and donate her money to them since she is an Apostolic. But [name removed] never called me back.

We only toured the assisted living facility, however they do have a memory care community. The facility was well maintained however, the residence were allowed to sign out and leave as they wanted and the facility was not secured at all times. They did not secure the facility until around nine at night. The few staff members that we met seen friendly and willing to provide any assistance that we might require an provided the pricing for each suite style. all of the suites are on a single floor. The costs for the suites were at the top end of what mom would be able to afford even with assistance from VA. They indicated that I could continue to manage mom's medications and that she could keep her current medical team. The main drawback for us is that they are on the south end of town and about a 30 to 40 minute drive away, not very convenient for the family to maintain contact with mom.
