They are not able to handle a person with physical limitations (like wheelchair user needing help for bathroom). If the patient can dress and use the bathroom in their own, this is a great memory care facility.

When searching for Assisted Living for my mom, we toured Brookdale Hillsborough. The facility itself was very nice! However, it was more expensive than some of the other places that we toured. Also, the residents didn't seem as happy.

They have really nice and sweet staff. We picked this community, because I thought the smaller setting would be more intimate and easier for getting around, but my mom has mentioned she would like more of a chef type menu with different choices in meals. I would recommend to other families.

Overall, most of the residents are friendly. And the staff is caring. The dining service is uneven for dinner meals on the weekends, which can be a waste of our money since it is covered by our rent.

It seemed to be the closest environment to the independent living facility that my mother was leaving, and it was the best value place among the 9 facilities we visited. It has lots of activities for seniors. They also provide transportation to medical appointments three days per week while other facilities only provided rides one day per week. This place also provides rides for shopping trips two days per week.

I'm pleased with Brookdale North! It's clean & well maintained! Seasonal decorations make appealing & changes the look of the facility. In general, the staff is good & conscientious.

I would say Brookdale Northshore is a very good place, with room for improvement, as is the case with many places. I appreciate the available services and regular contact with others. Location is very good. Portland is still a place that is easy to get around and has stores, etc. to meet your needs. And the beach is close with some lesser known within blocks. I would recommend Northshore Brookdale. Value for the cost is reasonable until you factor in the meals. A great deal of the time food is served cold. Brookdale is chronically short handed in proving dining services to the table. Variety is limited. The wait staff, however, is pleasant and attempts to meet residents' needs within parameters set by administrative staff. I appreciate the socializing activities, but again activities show limited variety. Overall, my score would be 4 with areas of improvement that may be coming due to increased specialized staff (dietitian) and increased communication meetings. I have no desire to move and appreciate the socialization, activities, transportation assistance, and regular meals.

I like that several caregivers have recognized my mom's spirit and personal uniqueness. They have some nice activities and services (bingo, volunteer rosary, and salon stuff). I am learning that the caregivers are not medical, but they do notify me of every unusual event (falls, late wake-up, eating/not eating, etc...). Brookdale Arvada is great!

I'm very satisfied with the care being given. The apartments is comfortable. I would recommend this community to other families.

We are very happy with Brookdale Grand Blanc, and based on the experience we have had so far we would absolutely recommend the community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

I toured several facilities in the area, including Brookdale Montclair Poulsbo. I found my tour of this facility to be least useful. It was not impressive when they changed personnel. I visited this facility twice and the person in charge of Marketing had changed between visits. I did not care for this facility, just my general impression. The layout was not something that I liked.

My family and loved on had a good experience with Brookdale Westlake Village. The community was clean and friendly. We would recommend that your loved one is moved in during the week. This will allow the welcoming team to be available to assist with settling your loved one into the community. Overall we would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

The experience my family and loved one had a good experience with the Brookdale. Brookdale is a wonderful memory care and assisted living community. The staffing ratio to residents is not appropriate for the true medical needs of senior care.

Our loved one is very happy at Brookdale and he is treated very well. The staff was exceptionally helpful and attentive when he was first moved there, in really bad condition from neglect at the hospital. They jumped right in and help us get him a new medical care provider, the right PT and OT and he’s back walking again and very happy. He loves the food (which says a lot because he has always been pretty picky) and staff has been very kind to him. Another feature we really appreciate is that the entire facility is memory care and I think the quality of care is better for it.

We have only been here for 2 -1/2 months and we are still finding our way, however what we really like about the Brookdale Chambrel community is that any questions and concerns we have had, have been answered and taken care of immediately with a smile. We haven't come upon an area that could be improved on. It really is a lovely place to live.

We toured Brookdale Allenmore Assisted Living and it was very nice. The atmosphere was great. Everyone was very friendly. The facility was pretty clean. I think they were still getting the room in shape, so it wasn't totally clean. Some of the areas in the kitchenette room were a little worn down, but not too bad. We began the process of filling out paperwork for my loved one to move in, but we were having some issues getting me approved to manage her finances. Also, my loved one's needs became greater than what I felt Brookdale could manage.

Keep in mind that my ratings are based on my loved one being there during the pandemic. Despite all the challenges of that time period, the staff worked very hard to be family. Although it's not the same, I appreciated all their effort. They always made time to talk to me. They were there for her and me during her final days, and you could tell they truly cared.

The corporate billing process for Brookdale Forest City caused me much heartache. I had to move my Mom to another facility due their billing process and how long term insurance paid out accordingly. Brookdale needs to fix their billing to be more cooperative and people need to know this. We ended up having to move Mom to a lesser-quality facility because of this. Also, they were charging $[removed]or so to give meds and if my Mom said no (she was in Memory Care) they tacked on $[removed]. Same with the shower deal. They reimbursed me when I caught this. My Mom was very high functioning and when I told the caregivers how to approach her and told her not to say no, this changed. Everything else was great! The activities were top notch! I am still in contact with some of the caregivers and I have visited the Memory Care residents a few times since. When mom was here, I visited 2-3 times a week and was always welcome. Much of the administration changed after we left, but I do not know anything about that. My Mom passed in November and many times I've wished I would have left her at this facility. But she was in such good health, I thought she might make it 10 more years. (She had a brain bleed) At the next facility, I went every other day to make sure that things were going well. But that's just how attentive I was anyway.

Brookdale Farmers Branch has been a great place for my mother-in-law! The pros are that they have friendly and helpful aides on staff. The rooms are spacious, clean and well decorated. It is one story, and has plenty of planned activities. The cons are the food/preparation - may be limited. Some complain about the food, but I don't have first hand knowledge. The Administration/manager turnover has been frequent, but the permanent position has been filled recently.

The Brookdale Summer Ridge community all around has been a good experience for us. They had not yet been giving my dad one of his meals at all, and he ended up getting sick and then we had realized why.
