Brookdale

Based on the experience we have had so far with Brookdale Tequesta we would recommend the community to other families. However they could improve on the communication with the residents and their families. They need better internal coordination and responses including the nurse practitioner and outside services.

It took awhile to get things going. The staff was good and this is based on the first few weeks I was there getting my loved one settled in. My loved one has said some of the lunches and dinners weren't that great. I don't have first hand knowledge. My loved one especially likes the outings in the van.

The meals are served very formally and the food options are a huge perk. The place is currently being updated with new fixtures, paint, and flooring. The main staff is amazing (they have been around the facility and are very seasoned employees), and there's a lot of support staff, but there is sometimes lack of follow through on each residents unique needs. The activities are often limited due to outbreaks of flu/Covid etc, which can be hard on the residents and the staff as well. The community feel is better here than in places with larger apartments.

We picked this community, because of the location and I was pleased with the look of the facility and the staff. They are endlessly patient and polite with the residents. I would recommend.

They have a year around heated pool for water aerobics and then a huge discount over their normal price to move in before the start of the month.. There is problems with billing, and understanding the meal plan.Most people are on different plans so it can be difficult getting accurate answers to questions. Overall, it's good.

Brookdale Paulin Creek could have a staff technician to deal with TV and internet set up and other problems. They could also have a healthier menu and a little more help finding people more like me.

We toured with Brookdale Greenwood Village and it was very nice, but the facility was definitely darker and was more expensive too. We also did not see as many residents that were out and about as we would have liked to.

The community is reasonably priced, well-kept, safe, and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, although it's a larger facility, so the staff-to-resident ratio is a little low in assisted living. A smaller community may be a better option for someone with significant care needs. The independent living part of the community was terrific. They also have a fully furnished respite care apartment that was incredibly helpful for a short-term option.

Our loved one is basically very happy and they are great with her, and I don't want that to change. I am grateful she is happy there. She is happy there and the staff is wonderful and very patient with her.

Overall we have had a positive experience for the last 2 1/2 years. Our mom seems content. Any issues we have had have been resolved. Do agree that the director needed to be changed. Do think the rooms ([name removed]) could be refreshed.

During my 5 years of residence, I have been quit pleased with my tour experience. We have gone from a pre-covid existence through extreme covid times and after covid. Through all of this, our staff and associates have performed effectively.

It's a nice facility. Although repairs to a faulty door lock and to walls after a freak thunderstorm downpour causing water damage were slow to be repaired. We really liked the administrative staff ([name removed], [name removed]) and especially the Clare Bridge Program Manager ([name removed]), but she resigned when we were moving my mom out, which would have been a concern. [name removed] in particular saved the day at a crisis point with my dad wanting to spontaneously take my mom home when he wasn't dealing well at all with my mom's condition and the change. The attending staff were friendly and seemed to be doing a good job, although understaffed at times. We moved my mom out primarily because of the financial model and high cost. My mom is in a place now with a benevolent fund which guarantees her care through the stages of Alzheimer's even if my parents run short on money eventually.

Didn't care for Brookdale. Although aesthetically pleasing, the atmosphere seemed dreary almost. Figured that maybe the vast majority of residents receive a high level of care. My aunt's not "there" - yet.

We picked this community, because,they had immediate availability, were able to provide required care services, and price. No place is perfect, but Brookdale tried very hard to meet the needs of my dad. They are easy to work with, have a good facility, and are caring/nurturing. I would return, if the need was there.

Overall the experience has been great especially for my dad, however their is room for improvement. We have noticed there is shortage in aides. Some of the aides are wonderful, and others not so much. According to our mom, the food is sometimes bland.

Overall, I'm thankful to have found this facility with your help. My family member is very happy there and thrilled that she could afford her own room with a kitty! She has made new friends there, something my loved one hasn't done in years. We just hope they get a new bus driver and I wish they had access to a pool. The facility does offer several movie nights, religious gatherings, and recreational classes which my loved one takes full advantage of. Regarding the food- it is plentiful and residents love it!

Brookdale Champions is very nice and would provide a comfortable place for a family member. It's a little on the pricey side and my biggest complaint would be lack of proactive communication from the staff. We picked this community, because they had a locked down memory care unit, were close to where my mom lived, and located in a part of Houston that I was familiar with.

It has been a huge relief knowing that Mom is safe and being monitored. The staff is wonderful with her, and I am shocked at how well she has adapted. Considering the other options we looked at, this is a good one for her and I would recommend it.

Brookdale Jones Farm has had staffing problems so things like housekeeping has not been able to keep up. The meals are good but the dining service has been slow - again due to the staffing problems. However based on the experience we have had so far with this community, we would recommend them to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.
