As for activities, their director left and they were without anyone to fill in. It's been disappointing and quite boring for my mom. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families

We picked this community because it was close to home, activities to keep him busy and it was feasible with our budget. It is nice. People are friendly and they keep you informed of your loved ones' care.

The average age of residents at Brookdale Hawthorn Lakes is higher than my parents expected. The Sales rep was very informative and followed up after move in to insure that the apartment was as promised. All of the staff have been very friendly. The maintenance staff are very helpful. Dining room has had some staffing issues, which have affected service on the weekends. I would recommend this community, but it's definitely for residents who are well advanced in age.

I picked Brookdale due to the smaller size. If or when dementia get worse unless she becomes violent or tries to escape she can stay in hee same room. When her money runs out as long as she has been private pay for 2 years she can stay in her room and be on Medicare. No else offered this. I am pleased with Brookdale.

We picked this community for our loved one, because they have a contract with Medicaid. I would recommend to others. If a friend asked about my experience, I would say "not bad."

The management staff at Brookdale, Novi were wonderful to work with. They made many accommodations for my Mom on very short notice. They truly do care about their residents and communicate well with family members. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Conway and everything has been very good for her at this facility so far. The staff and friendliness are great. The cleanliness, care services, meals and activities are good. I would suggest better communication on contract signing and when payment starts. That communication was not clear for us. Overall, I would recommend Brookdale Conway to others.

Nice facility, rent last year 12.5% excessive. Old heat/water equipment needs to be upgraded. Hot water can be a problem, old system.

Brookdale was chosen because it seemed more homey than bigger ones. Unfortunately, back then the management was friendlier and more activities provided.

What our family likes the most about the Brookdale Muirfield community is the friendliness of the staff members as well as the other residents living there. Based on our experience so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

Wonderful place to reside. Rural setting is beautiful. Staff is helpful and friendly. Immaculately clean at all times. I've made a lot of friends here and hope I can stay a long time.

The move in process was good, still trying to figure out a few things for my apartment and where to put furniture to make it more comfortable, but the move-in coordinator has offered to help. I had a good Welcome Ambassador named [name removed] who is on the same floor. He has been very helpful and I enjoy our conversations at meals. The positives about Brookdale Glen Ellyn are the people - the residents and staff are welcoming and friendly. I joined the health club and attend B-Fit exercise because I know it’s good for me. I enjoy the food and think the fish is unbelievable. I didn’t expect it to be so good, and I’d rate it 8 out of 5 stars!

I would say there is a high staff turnover but I still feel it is the best fit for my husband. I like that he has a private bedroom with a window, personal climate control, and bathroom with toilet and sink. They also have a lovely and well maintained outdoor space surrounding the facility.

When it comes to the meals and dining service our loved one says sometimes the food is cold by the time she is served. We cannot comment on the activities as our loved one does not participate in them. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to others. Overall, very happy with them.

My experience has been excellent. The community of people is what makes this a good living experience. The down side is the Strong Hold of corporate. Food choices; not allowing hiring or contracting with excellent community resources; asking staff to perform tasks way outside of their expertise are just some examples.

My Gammy lives there and most of the staff there are amazing. Mostly through the day the staff are kind and patient. On the weekend the staff seem to be a little disinterested in guests but none the less are helpful when asked. I recommend this place as the staff and director are great overall. The host a family meal where family can come and their meal this evening was delightful, staff are super friendly, and director was present engaging with guests and residents.

This Brookdale is located on the edge of the heart of downtown Oak Park. Across the street to the north are beautiful neighborhoods. Dentist is less than a block. Doctor is 1 1/2 blocks. Restaurants just around the corner. Barber just around the corner. Trader Joe's literally next Door. Dinner is the social highlight of the day for us. There are many activities for those inclined. I love the great library run by the residents. The view from our apartment is spectacular. A wonderful forest preserve with walking trails is about a mile away. We sometimes meet deer on our neighborhood walks.

I'd say my biggest complaint would be the lack of communication. The front staff has been great. Some of the nurses and aids that work with residents can be difficult to deal with or just generally unfriendly. My mom does not like to shower and they tend to let her go longer than they should without a shower. I expected more because the cost was pretty high

My uncle has adjusted very well there amidst a lot of changes. They've worked to help him adjust and made him feel like he'd be missed when he moved from skilled nursing to assisted living. Staff go above and beyond to take care needs. Only area that could use work sometimes is communication.
