Brookdale

Our family's recent experience. Nice environment and community. Management staff is new so a lot of miscommunication. Would recommend but again need to know what questions to ask regarding extra charges.

When help is needed, they are always quick to respond. My apartment size is pretty small. We have resident meetings. I don't like their seating policy in the dining room. Overall I would recommend Brookdale Brea.

I think Brookdale Tanglewood is very nice the staff seems friendly my concerns for my mom is the cost of the care we have to really watch her budget she is paying more than she makes in a month & I know the more care she needs the more they charge we are trying to get some financial aid & if we don't get it may come down to moving her out I'm hoping I don't have to because likes it there & she likes it there . I would say mom really likes it there & that is a huge load off my mind when I started looking at places for her that was a main concern because she had always lived on her on but she is happy there & that's great !

Common areas were updated and attractive, rooms were nice, staff is very friendly, and cost was very competitive. They are very good for fairly healthy seniors but maybe not best suited if someone is completely immobile and requiring frequent support.

It was a good place in general, I would recommend them. The woman who runs the memory care programming is very good.

The staff is great..they are just a little short handed as are most facilities today...the food could be better...and more activities...the setting is nice..backed up to a forest with good outdoor spaces. I would recommend Brookdale Oswego Springs Portland to others looking.

My Mother lived at Brookdale Niagara Enhanced Assisted Living Community for over a year. Her mobility and eyesight were failing. From conscientious aids, she received excellent help and care with showering, laundry, medication, and pain relief. Many were outstanding. She never missed breakfast, her apartment was kept clean, and many outings and events were planned. At the time my mom left the facility, the Management Team in place was top-notch and extremely approachable! I remember asking my Mom if she was happy living there and she answered "Yes, we're family." There were some "trials and errors" along the way, but always with the forward look to improving.

[name removed] was awesome, willing to connect with me at any time to set up tours and visits, and to answer questions. She gets five stars! The only wish I have is that there was more information on each facility. For instance is the food good, are the residents kind, are there exercise classes? The first place we took our mom to had dreadful food, and the residents were shockingly unwelcoming. I asked a table of four if she join them (on her first or second day) and they said “no, it’s not allowed,” and at a second they were saving so wine’s place.we moved her after two months to a place that is much better. If a Place for Mom could provide more detailed information and reviews, that would be a good addition to their services. Thanks for the help.

For my loved one's long term policy, they need a form filled out and sent in at the end of the month and the invoice hasn't been done properly several times. I also didn't receive a statement for September from Brookdale before payment was withdrawn from her checking account. Hopefully these issues improve. I get tired of having to make phone calls to SHIP and Brookdale.

For months they did not have a social Director or a bus driver. The residents were planning their own activities as best they could. Finally, they got a social Director and then that last a bus driver. It is better now, but it shouldn't have taken that long. My loved one is happy there with their care and the activities now.

The nursing staff was wonderful. My dad required more care than they were accustomed to. They worked hard to accommodate his needs and keep him safe and healthy. We had issues with the cost. We were quoted a rate for the care they knew he needed (Hoyer lift and 2 person transfer) but after a few weeks they raised the rate because he needed the extra care. They were aware of this before we signed the contract. I believe there was one person who misquoted the rate who left the company while we were still residents. We were happy with the facility.

Love the larger rooms. Staff has been very helpful and friendly. Really enjoy the monthly family lunch/dinners food is delicious. The only reason I scored a 4 is the remodeling. They have been dragging their feet in getting items completed in her room. She has been there two months and still waiting for cabinets to be replaced, the carpet to be repaired and shelves to be installed in the closet. Also we did have some issues where her room wasn’t getting cleaned and the laundry wasn’t bring done timely. We have since been able to straighten that out.

The employees there are very personable. My dad has transitioned well into the assisted living facility. They have activities to keep him busy during the day.

The staff is very caring and friendly and is very willing to help with family questions or concerns. The facility is very nicely decorated, and our family member enjoys the lovely surroundings. The residents have been very friendly and welcoming to our family member.

We would rate it a 4+ some wait times for services seemed rather long but staff was very helpful. My aunt passed away in early spring At the time she was over 100 years of age. She was of course at first reluctant to enter assisted living but found she was very pleased with Brookdale once she settled in.

Mom has taken her time getting adjusted to the assisted living program, but Brookdale has been very accommodating and helpful with the transition. The facility and staff have been of high quality. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

I don't have anything to compare the overall value to...I mean it is really expensive. And everything is a cost increase. The base price is high and then they add more for anything else you need. $[removed]+ for medication management, $[removed] to remind the resident to eat (not escort, just remind) and it gets a bit out of hand. But i understand that is the norm. Overall I would recommend Brookdale. The people are friendly and the grounds are pretty.

My aunt is with you and we are very pleased with your facility. [name removed] has been especially helpful. The only folks that seem “unfriendly” are some of the kitchen staff. There is one thing that concerns me and that is my aunts ability to be more mobile in your facility. With only one arm/hand to navigate her wheelchair and using her feet to propel her; it seems to me that she would be more independent with one. Thanks for reaching out. I really appreciate it.

The facility is very clean, the staff is competent and caring, and the chef prepares delicious, healthy meals. Residents are treated with respect and their concerns are heard and generally addressed. The only concern during my sister's first two months is that cöphone calls on one weekend were not answered.

The other staff members were also great, just can't recall their names. The food was spectacular! The only problem we saw was they were grossly understaffed & [removed]k a month is crazy expensive when the wonderful people who took care of mom were so understaffed, & exhausted. The staff [name removed], [name removed]& the young man & [name removed] were just wonderful!
