Brookdale

Only complaint is the food is hit or miss. I like that he has others around him. He does not have to eat alone or be alone if he does not want to. The place is clean and the people are friendly. I am overall happy with Brookdale. Just wish my dad would not complain about the food as much as he does. For the record sometimes he is happy with it. Most times not. The community is very nice. I have recommended already Brookdale to a friend of mine

Very homey atmosphere...just the right amount of resident for an elderly person to get to know... she rates the food very high... I have excellent communication with them...she is happy!

The entire staff are friendly and proactive. So many activities that keep us involved and stimulated, to challenge our mind and bodies. Being animal friendly is a big plus. All the residents are all very welcoming.

Brookdale-Everett Senior Living is a blessed to me. Residents are friendly and staff is caring, and hand workers to make residents happy. My Happy Place.

As you know my Wife was diagnosed, by the VA with dementia. I moved into assisted living to be with her Once I moved in it was determined that she passed all the dementia testing and no longer needed to be in Memory Care. Rather than pay for her to move in with me, we made the decision to relocate permanently to a 2 bedroom apartment at [community name removed] enabling us to utilize Long Term Care Insurance. Brookdale at Oakwell Farms is going through a transitional period following an ineffective Executive Director. The transitional administration is working hard to restore this facility to its previous state of the art facility

We highly recommend Ocean House , if you have only minimal needs for assistance, of if you just want a really lovely community around you in your home at the beach! The facility is beautiful, and some of the views are spectacular. The food is excellent, and everyone we encountered working there was friendly, caring and hard-working. The only drawback? If you need medications or like being taken to meals in the dining room at specific times, you may have to wait a while. The caregivers worked very hard, but it seemed like there just weren’t enough of them. I know they were actively looking to hire while we were there, and they were clearly concerned about hiring only the best. This place is ideal if you are basically independent, and if you take advantage of the many activities and opportunities for fun.

It should be noted that my parents were only there for a temporary stay and returned home in [date removed] . Overall they really liked the staff with the exception of one of the nurses that they didn't care for. The food definitely needs improvement. About half the time they didn't get what they ordered. Most times food was served like warm or cold. Their biggest complaint by far was the food.

Unfortunately we were limited on facilities due to financial difficulties. It was one of two that she could afford. The staff has been helpful in getting mom settled in and address her concerns.

Overall the place has positive energy that our Mother thrives on. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is really nice and we all love the outdoor courtyard. Lots of fun and engaging activities for resident and family. At times, our Mother's room was dirty and family has stepped in to help keep things clean. Sometimes, takes awhile for laundry to get done. Our family that our Mother is happy and thriving at Brookdale

They were very kind here at Brookdale. He has succumbed to his chronic illness suddenly in February. But his time there was much more pleasant than where he was previously. He even called it home, which he never did for his previous place, even though he was there much longer.

The staff was beyond helpful [names removed] truly went above and beyond. They were patient and available to answer our questions. They spoke to my Mom with love and respect to help support her making this difficult decision.

What we like the most about Brookdale Redmond is the compassion and friendliness shown by staff to my brother who is now on hospice and bedbound. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families, with the understanding that their rates go very high with each additional care need.

Mom seems happy, and she's busy. Food is just not good from what she says. It's expensive, it takes all her social security, and O have to supplement. But she's happy and safe.

The aides are great but not enough of them and you can wait over an hour for help, even to use the toilet. The admin staff basically 1 person besides the director and things move VERY slowly. The activity director retired and she was amazing, always tons of different things going on. Now they hired a new one but she's pretty basic so a lot of times is the same bingo and cards. Also, they haven't had a driver for the van to take people out for maybe a year and the van is broken.

Since arriving [date removed] the quality and selection of food has gone down. Also there have been an increase number of days when they didn't have enough help and the dining room was closed and meals were to go.

Mom is very happy there. There was an incident with a fellow resident becoming violent...not towards Mom...but witnessed by her. Otherwise staff is very friendly and helpful and loving. They, like most long-term care facilities have occasional issues with lack of staff. I am very aware that staff retention is frequently an issue. They recently had a covid outbreak which I felt they handled well. I feel very confident in the care they give Mom. Overall, Very pleased with Brookdale and would and have recommended them. Thanks again for your assistance with finding a very good fit for Mom.

About a month ago we were considering moving my Mom to a different facility as she was not happy there but ultimately she will not be happy anywhere so for now she's tolerating it. She does not participate in any activities. They used to have Friday afternoon happy hours with a resident playing a baby grand piano every week. Since that has stopped, she just stays in her room except for meals. My mother tells me the dining staff all treat her very well. And we both adore the nursing staff. They allow me not to worry about anything. Very proactive. Mom's biggest complaint is the food at this point. She says the quality has gone down quite a bit. My low score on value is probably unfair but there have been price increases and for a studio she is paying almost <fee removed> monthly now just for the rent portion. Seems high to me.
