Brookdale

Initially I was not given a guide to how things were done there; I had to ask for something. That was disappointing. My sister's furniture was in bad shape so they did lend her a bed, dresser, kitchen set and nightstand. She didn't participate in any activities but she was informed and invited to join. As far as I could tell she received good care.

We were attracted to Brookdale, because it was an immediate choice. I would recommend to others.

Very nice facility and a nice tour. I was very impressed and would like to move my mother. I am just concerned about the pricing as my mother only amenities such as activities, church service, and housekeeping, and dining.

They are open communicators and take good feedback. As with many communities, staff is often stretched thin.

Improve food with a salad bar Provide snacks for after hours Make sure hot is hot and cold is cold Enough staff to properly wait on tables Over the staff is great but often there are not enough for good coverage.

On first appearance the facility needs a brush-up. The outside needs a good power washing. There are many places that need paint/repair. The room we met in had several chipped places and needed paint and repair. The community ladies room had 2 very large ceiling water stains. One of the main reasons we looked here was because of the pool. First of all, it is not accessible for disabled and secondly it is not heated (heater broken since Hurricane Ian). Next, there are no roll in showers. While we do not require a roll in shower having a 2 inch step in is not what you would expect in assisted living. Our only contact was with the sales director, [name removed], and she was lovely. She was very informative and answered all of our questions. The lack of activities was very discouraging.

They've been good and address my issues. Just with anyplace some are more patient with my mom vs others. The food is not good...We are paying 8k a month and the food is worse than kids at elementary school lunches. Every blue moon something is good. I take mom dinner most days.

Very friendly and accommodating staff,just too many rules and regulations that make this more an assisted living facility than an independent living facility This is an older facility and with that being a lot of equipment is older eg heating and air. The outdoors is well maintained but the gates are not very efficient and the gates and doors are not able to be monitored by the front desk. Very few activities for people to stay active in the community and lots of things get canceled. There is a large amount of sedentary residents who spend their days sitting in their rooms and their only activity is dining The physical therapy area is well maintained and inviting but The workout and areas for activities are very small,dark (main sitting area) and not inviting You cannot opt out of the meal payment which makes it to me more assisted living and attracts dependent residency with all the restrictions and rules in the dining area

The in house staff was 100% dedicated to making every resident comfortable and happy, and safe. I think residents do need to have their own primary care physician if they have any medical needs at all. One area of improvement would be increasing staff and whatever insurance and budgeting needed to be able to take residents to appointments or regular events, like church, or just any event outside the facility. The van driver was wonderful but the van was not always in use or available. For residents that need physical help but still want to go out and do things that would be a big add to this facility and a huge help to the family members that cant afford additional caregiver service and also just can't be in two places at once because they have other family obligations. Also - this is very specific but I think potential residents should know the limitations - if the resident needs to be in an electric wheelchair, as opposed to just a walker - the van transportation had limited capacity during the large group outings to accommodate an electric wheelchair. Again, very specific! But thats the situation my father was in - he was right on the border of assisted living and a skilled nursing home. So some things, like the additional licenses Brookdale Coventry has for skilled nursing - were an absolute game changer for us. (Continence care!) But then other things, where he could be more independent, like to go out for an outing - it probably could have been more comfortable for him if he could have been in his electric wheelchair. It's a balance, and Brookdale staff were amazing honestly. They really did their absolute best to give him the best experience he could have.

Moving my father from living independently in another town was a difficult decision to make for my family. Knowing my Dad is less than a mile away from me is such a peace of mind. Brookdale is home now and he is adjusting to a new life in Fort Worth.

I came here because of my wife, [name removed] When [name removed] was feeling well, we were able to enjoy the activities the community offers. We enjoy the food. I am able to eat most of the food dispute my diet limitations.

The activities and care team work well together to make it fun and keep your love one staff.

The employees are very professional. The employees make it a point to know you name. The employees go out of their way to assist me in whatever I may need. The quality of the food here is good and has increased considerably over the past couple of months. The resident engagement coordinator assist with other things outside of activities such as internet questions when asked and able to assist. The premises are exceptionally cleaned and well maintained. The only thing I request is there should be a nurse on duty 24/7.

I enjoy most of the activities. I enjoy most of the people. The food for the most part is fair to good. Enjoy going on the outings for we do a variety of things. I enjoy the One Day University seminars. Transportation runs fairly smoothly for appointments. The landscaping is beautiful in the backyard and garden

Parking is terrible reserved space is often parked nursing wonderful, food and dining enjoyable by communication us terrible. Changes aren't always come for residents. Residents should have to pay a small could charge for happy hours, parties etc.

Good overall- 2 months since move in.

Ok-Enjoy living here.

Challenging must be flexible and recognize nothing us perfect. Repairs taking time.

Nice she didn't want to move to SL but its all good.
