Brookdale

Facility is very warm feeling. As with every facility maintaining consistent staffing is hard. But the ones selected are caring and know the residents well. I would recommend this facility to others and have.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They have awesome activities Monday-Friday. The activities are enriching and the staff are the best!!! The food choices offer a good variety and are balanced. Facility is neat and clean. Housekeeping services are solid. They all do great work. The nurses and their aids do a heroic job! On the down side, my issues are with responsiveness of outside nursing. Not the PT or OT personnel, but the NP. It is nearly impossible to talk to them. I have left numerous messages with zero follow up…unless I catch them in the facility. The other item is the noisy dining environment from the kitchen. The dining staff are less than friendly and treat some residents disrespectfully. Unlike everyone else in the facility, I firmly believe they hate their jobs.

A place for mom introduced me and my wife to Brookdale Chambrel in the Spring of 2014. We have never regretted our decision to make this place our home. The facilities are well maintained and our meals are always a pleasure to sit down to. The entire staff if Brookdale has adopted my wife and me as family. Additionally, The fellow residents have always made us feel at home.

Everything has gone down somewhat since [name removed], the Director, left in July 2024. The food is not good. My aunt says if the electricity goes out, they don't get anything to eat. The food is not good. My aunt says if the electricity goes out, they don't get anything to eat.

Let me preface this with overall I am very pleased and I think it is a perfect match for my mother-in-law. She is not somebody that would do anything additional even if offered, but I do think there is a room for improvement for activities. I would recommend this community to other families. Again, it really depends on the type of person that needs to live there From my mother-in-law just to eat with a group of other people and to play bingo is a big improvement to what she was doing before. She's not interested in going on any of the little day trips or attending many of the happy hour type things. If it's for someone that needs to be busy all day, this is not the place for them. They have very limited offerings

I have been a resident for 7 years. The staff is excellent, very friendly, know your name and very patient, We have a wide range of activities and can be as busy as we want to be. The library is very good. I'm glad I am here.

Family members toured and checked 4 care facilities in the area and chose Brookdale. Two of the other care homes were more upscale but they had somewhat of a steril atmosphere. Brookdale is more like home , employees and most residents are friendly , and the food has been good and healthy. I have been To Brookdale to see my spouse every day since [date removed] and nothing has changed.

The staff was great but not enough of them for my family members needs. In their defense he was a lot to handle....hence the reason we put him in memory care. I would also like to say that their main memory care coordinator (or manager...can't remember her title) [name removed] is absolutely amazing!!

The community itself is very nice. When we moved my aunt in, they were having a stomach flu lockdown so she was not able to come out of her apartment for two weeks. Also, during this time there executive director and I believe wellness director had left and they were changing senior management. I think this caused a lot of miscommunication and things falling through the cracks. However, now things seem to be getting better.

My mom was very sick and on hospice and she was not there for very long. I wish my mom could’ve participated in some of their many activities. The staff at Brookdale were very kind and compassionate and made a very hard situation easier and I thank them for that.

Brookdale has been the right fit for our Mother because it is more personable than other places that we visited. Mother loves the food and the entire staff. It has been a blessing that she can have her kitty cat there with her. And her room is just the right size for her own personal furniture and other belongings. Mother’s fellow residents have been very kind and friendly. The entertainment Brookdale has provided has been exceptionally good!

You need to be active with your family members care, but give the staff time to know them.

I feel like there's something for everyone. If you like music or playing cards or whatever-they have a wide variety of activities. Yes, I would definitely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Caretakers are great! They are friendly, polite, and helpful. Executive director doesn't handle problems when advised of them and has to be followed in order for them to be resolved. She isn't respected by the residents. Food has improved but still needs improving. Menus are not always reliable. Things that are on the menu sometimes are not available but not corrected on the menu. They want us in the dining room 15 minutes prior to dining time, but food isn't taken to tables until 15-30 minutes after dining times.

The place is immaculate. Virtually never a nursing home odor. Everyone is friendly. In house medical care is a big plus, don't have to go out often. We find the aides to be lazy, like they often are...not better here. Don't change the bed weekly, have brought it up many times. Slow to respond to requests for medical or medicine issues, because it all has to go through an outside Dr. I think staffing is tough, they get what they can, so they don't stay on them about losing sheets, making beds, putting clothes away, etc. Personal hygiene care is good, food is excellent...I'd eat there if I could. Low score on value is because it's much more than some other places, and it should be PERFECT for that $. Overall, she couldn't be in a better place.

This is a great facility and people are friendly. It's really better for people who can eat and toilet by themselves. Staff are stretched a bit thin. I overheard some ladies yelling at my parent while helping in the bathroom. But with that being said, everyone can get frustrated, and I also overheard people being very kind when they didn't realize I was listening. Overall, I think this is a great place.

Residents and staff are very friendly and helpful. Laundry and cleaning services are great. Assistance when needed is prompt. It’s really a great place to live. My only complaint is the meals could be better . Breakfast is fine but lunch and dinner could be better.

Brookdale is a very friendly caring facility. The rooms are spacious enough and many residents feel comfortable leaving their doors open to welcome neighbors and staff to stop by for visits The building is older and has had leaking roof issues, but maintenance gets on it quickly, though corporate has not given it a permanent fix The sales rep, DoN, receptionists and many of the nurses and CNA's are kind, considerate, and take a real interest in the residents. The activities and food are average and do the basic job, but needs improvement. The administrator is very new and is not as welcoming as the previous one. This director tends to stay in office and really has not reached out to families or all the residents. As with most ALF's it is decorated in drab colors and matching carpet. Seems that a good update would be welcomed by all. With that said, our relative has made good friendships with both residents and staff and feels strongly that this is her home. She enjoys the weekly bus trip for shopping, the Friday happy hours and her "lunch table ladies" who have been essential in bonding friendships. Compared to other ALFs I visit, Brookdale rates high!

Good value for the money. My mom lived there for six months until she passed. The rooms are very nice. Everyone we encountered there was very kind to her.
