Brookdale

They are wonderful. The staff is great. The activities are great. My mom says the food is great. It's typically pretty clean. I am so thankful for Brookdale the staff and the Bloom doctors for returning my mom's health around so much. My only complaint would be that the staff was not very understanding when she first got there and she was so disoriented and couldn't follow directions. They got pretty mad at her and at me. But so now she's probably their easiest resident to take care of and they all love her. Insert a little bit of an eye roll here.

The staff is friendly and caring. They work very hard to make sure everyone is well fed and comfortable. The atmosphere is very "homey". They could improve on the food choices and quality. The activities are fine for the most part, but many people are just in front of the TV.

What we like the most about the community is that it is not overwhelming in size and we would recommend Brookdale Hollywood Park to others based on the experience so far.

The place is nice and it was reasonably priced. What stood out was that they were more accommodating couple and more apartment-like than other places I looked at.

Better communication between upper staff members, but we would recommend this community to other families.

The price and location were most important . Plus she can have her dogs. We would absolutely recommend Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch to others! They were very easy to work with when transitioning from rehab. [name removed]was great.

The amenities at the community are good, the care has been good and we like the options that are available on campus for the different kinds of needs. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families.

Positive- mom is gaining weight from the dining service and staff are friendly and helpful for the most part Negative- Care response time is much slower than promised. Administration office is slow to fill out her insurance paperwork so she hasn't received any reimbursement yet.

Everyone complains about the food. But it is institutional food, not home cooking. My Mother enjoys the activities but wishes for more. However, due to her blindness, she just can't participate in some of the other ones. The staff is very good. They know every person by first name. There aren't any problems with staff stealing from residents. All a resident has to do is ask and they are accommodated. They offer outings outside of the residence and provide the transportation. Overall, I give it a very positive rating.

Experience was great. Very friendly staff and building was clean and neat.

They have been wonderful over all. My mom is not thrilled with the food offerings at times nor the portions. Housekeeping struggles at times. I think they are currently short some staff. I love the facility and think some of the current issues will be resolved. The facility is very responsive to concerns.

The staff are dining staff are attentive and cheerful. The executive staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The common areas and building are kept clean. Activities are varied. Food is adequate. Apartments are roomy with older kitchen cabinets. The residents are very friendly and helpful.

At first when looking into senior living, I was unprepared and unsure on what to look for or what questions to ask. It took me a while to make a decision on where I wanted to live. I initially thought I would dislike moving into Brookdale but surprisingly I don't. I have made many friends and the staff here are so friendly, professional, optimistic, kind, and the most helpful people I have met in my life. The administration and staff are truly the main reason why I was able to adapt so quickly along with my tablemates.

People are friendly here and helpful. There are a lot of activities here with different varieties. If you want to participate you can, if not you are able to stay in your room if you wish. I lived alone before coming to Brookdale and since living here I have made many friends to socialize with.

The staff was very accommodating. My father liked it there and everyone was friendly and empathetic. The only complaint I would have was my father and other residents I talk to were disappointed in the food. The menu selections maybe changed on a monthly basis. I had home health in with Dad 2-3 times a week because he was dealing with a pressure would from sitting all day. The would prior to us moving to a skilled facility was deemed a stage 4. Which meant he was no longer able to be at Brookdale. The male nurse called and left me a vm on [date removed] (day before Thanksgiving) to tell me he had to relocate to a skilled facility. It would have been a lot better for us if he could have waited till Friday after Thanksgiving to let me know. I really liked Brookdale until I found [community removed] skilled facility for Dad. It is so much better and the care he is now getting is awesome. However, the cost increased from $[removed] to $[removed]monthly.

Unfortunately she ended up in the hospital and rehab three times since she was a resident there. So she hasn't been there that many consecutive days. That being said people are very nice. Her apartment is nice and food is good. I'm not totally sold on aids and others. She has to call sometimes several times to get reasonable things done. Sometimes they say they will be right back and they never come back at all! One example is she had an accident in bed in the morning. Aid came and said she'd wash her sheets since she didn't have any other clean ones. She was supposed to come back with clean sheets and I think make her bed. 8:00 at night she still hadn't come back so my sister had to call a few times to get someone to come with the sheets. When they did come they found the sheets still wet in the washer. She put them in the dryer and about 9pm she got her bed made. Luckily she doesn't go to bed early. Not life threatening issues but aggravating. Maybe stuff like that is typical, I don't know.

I would recommend. It costs more than the previous place my mother was staying, and it had an added on charge I wasn't aware of so make sure to ask about those things. The director and financial person are very helpful. My mother is well cared for and someone calls me to let me know how she is when I cannot get there.

Staff is wonderful. The room is substantial. And our overall experience so far has been great. I would recommend them to others who are searching for care for their loved one.

Friendly staff, lots of amenities, huge apartments, too big actually. Just wasn't the right fit for me

As I entered the building, the sales person was very friendly, however the woman at the front desk never spoke or acknowledged us. Everything else went well. We had an overall good experience. Most of the community was friendly as well as staff.
