Brookdale

[name removed] was very nice and thorough in showing me all Brookdale offer’s for my Dad and Stepmom when needed. I was a little turned off by the expense, but now I understand that it is costly to take care of people. I want them to be happy and I’m trying to be proactive and find a place when they need it and yes, I believe Brookdale is a very nice place.

While I was looking at independent living unit, in the end, the manager called me and advised me that I was too young and independent for facility. She recommended and I agreed that renting an apartment in the area would be a better option for me as I down sized and moved to Framingham. I agreed with her. As for the visit itself, [name removed] who did the tour, talked about a number of ways to financially handle and deal with selling off my "extra baggage" and otherwise get rid of unwanted and unneeded stuff. My son accompanied me on the visit. We both came to the conclusion that the facility was in need of update but also was the best location of all the like facilities in the area.

I love the fact that the environment is inviting and does not "look like" a community. I like the fact that the residents are encouraged to not sit in their rooms. I like the activity plan. [name removed], the Executive Director, listens to the concerns of the resident's family and addresses the concerns quickly. The staff meets regularly to address concerns that have been noted. Yes I would recommend

When we moved my loved one in there was blood on the floor that hadn't been cleaned up in the hallway. Don't know if someone fell or what happened. Generally, it smells like an assisted living center. That is just the nature of those places since people begin to struggle with hygiene due to limited mobility. I have been too many however and they are about the middle of the road in terms of cleanliness relative to ones in Baltimore. Nursing homes are hospital like and much dirtier. The sales/management staff I felt to be a bit pushy. My loved one secured a place in there before she had actually sold her home. It took a while to sell/move but I think she would have been better off selling her home before locking up a spot there. After we had signed the contract, management was replaced and the new management seems much more in tune with the residents. That said, here in Baltimore its uber competitive so its difficult to get in the popular ones that have long wait lists. Conversely, the nursing staff and wait staff are excellent, kind and caring! They go out of your way to make it comfortable for her and bring food to her room if she doesn't feel well.

residents gave me a warm welcome. Rooms, both public & private, were clean & nicely decorated. The staff was friendly &professional. Liked the inner courtyard, smaller appliances in the units, and layout of bathrooms.

Staff checking on my dad a lot. He is always look clean and dressed. Only one thing we were nit happy with that his medication didn't get refilled and he was almost a week without medication and no one contacted me once. And im his medical POA

So far I would say the rooms of my apartment (one bedroom) are awesome. Both have 18 foot ceilings. High Windows. High ceiling fan. I'm on sixth floor so I have a great view of Seattle skyline. It's across the street from a golf course so there is a lot of greenery. The staff has been extremely friendly and helpful. All the way from the director to kitchen staff, servers, maintenance and housekeeping.

The staff have been very helpful and supportive. They are very kind and caring with all the residents. I'm very grateful that my dad is there.

Great friendly staff, park is awesome, can walk to the pond, bus is helpful for seniors, everyone is nice. Ability to go to assisted living is a plus as well as memory care. Residents are pleasant and help each other.

If you are fairly independent there is no problem, but for residents who need personal care (meds, hygiene help) they are not responsive.

They are very friendly and treat residents with respect and gentle care.

Close and convenient. Lovely facility. We found that the administrative staff really didn't seem to know [name removed]'s progress or what OT/PT was doing, which needed to be communicated to the care team.

Well, the executive manager wants to know if you have any problems but doesn't follow up to make sure the issue gets resolved. The dining manager wants to hear your opinions or questions but blames corporate for tying his hands on what he can do to improve the experience. Maintenance manager is slow to solve Maintenance issues. The only manager who does a fantastic job and truly seems to care is the health & wellness director and she's leaving tomorrow.

MIL is happy with the staff, loves the food and church service time available. Has made some friends. Have noticed she has pictures on the floor that she said will be hung by maintenance team, has been there for 2 months now. Not sure she has actually requested the pics to be hung. Overall, pleased.

They are helpful and really want to make your love one happy. They need to ask the family member if they like or don't like the food option I feel they get the same three choices for lunch and dinner should be different in my opinion.

A Place for Mom is great and the staff at Brookdale are fantastic, but the company are sharks. My ex husband passed away 2 weeks in and they say that I owe them over $[removed].

The friendless and caring of the staff is excellent which I feel is one of the most important things. I would recommend Chatfield. I have had other family members at other facilities which were definitely not as good.

My brother, husband, and myself recently toured Brookdale. My 90 year old mother was needing a assisted living home. We were greeted at the door by a welcoming young man. Our appointment was with [name removed] and she arrived promptly for our meeting. She explained things about the facility and then offered to show us the rooms she had available. Stacy listened to us about my mother’s needs and was able to show us the floor plan of the room we wanted. She has been very helpful in getting the room ready for Mom.

I met with [name removed] who was friendly and informative. I like the small atmosphere, the availability of meals and a 24-hour administrative presence. The apartments were quite different. The studio was tiny, very different from my mother's current apartment. The 2nd was a good-sized room but so filled with stuff that it was overwhelming and hard to visualize nicely furnished. The 2-room apartment was nice but is expensive. My biggest concern is if she moved there and then needed more care, she would have to move again but would not be great.

So far so good, but it's only been a month. I would recommend, it's priced fairly for the area.
