Brookdale

Always can get better. It's a nice place to live. Everyone seems real friendly and welcoming

The staff is wonderful. They're caring and easy to talk to. My parents feel very comfortable with them. This includes the facility director who is hands-on and spends time with the residents on a daily basis. We highly recommend Brookdale

Staff has been kind and caring. Overall clean and food looks good. At times the memory care area is a little dark. There are large windows that look at outdoor space but hallways are dim. It's still the best place for my husband and for me to have him there!

There are lots of activities in the memory care unit to choose from if the resident chooses to participate. There meals look good and for the most part seem to have a variety. The care of the long time full time staff is impeccable. However, there is seems to be a lot of turnover, especially night shift in the memory care unit. Also, the communication specifically from the nursing staff is somewhat lacking. The room is spacious enough for one occupant and well maintained by staff.

It's nice. Assisted living is understaffed, but overall it is better than most. I would recommend.

When you walk into the facility it's bright and welcoming. It's always decorated for the different seasons. I'm impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. When I brought my mom in for assessment, the gentleman performing the test was extremely difficult to understand. English is not his native language and his accent is challenging to understand.

Yes definitely, the staff there all are very nice. They will help with any thing you might need. You feel like they honestly care for your will being. It's very nice that each occupant has their own room

Varied/good selection of activities, friendly/caring staff, clean/well kept inside and out, nice common areas and outdoor spaces. Good value for the cost.

I did a virtual tour, so it's a little hard to really "see" everything. We'll do an in person tour on our next trip to Huntsville.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Very welcoming. Everyone was so nice. Definitely at the top of our list. Had lunch there, integrated with the residents. Very pleasant.

It is a nice, clean facility. Like a lot of senior living facilities, I feel it needs a greater staff to resident ratio and also more engaging and nurturing events on a daily basis to engage residents.

My mom is very hesitant to come out of her room for meals and activities. They do a great job of encouraging her and trying to get her to go to things. All staff are extremely nice.

She was treated very fair, the administrator was kind and helpful. It turned out to not be a good fit for my mother, so we moved her to a duplex, she is very able-bodied. She really just wanted to be around people her age to combat loneliness. She complained about the food a lot, but met some very nice people. Most of the activities were local coffee shops, or ice cream. She did not go to most of those. She did go on the 1 trip to the coast and loved it.

Food-Vegetables are hard to eat, not cooked till tender. I brought my dad his plate to his room one day and was unable to cut the meat with a fork and butter knife. Small portions also. Staff-Have had a couple staff members that will not transport my dad back to his room after dining. It is in his care plan this is to be done. Also, did not change his bedsheets for over a month. I finally did it last visit. Was told 3 times by staff recently they would make sure he was on the "schedule." Overall it's been an ok experience if your expectations are not high.

My mom is happy at Brookdale overall. However, not too happy about the quality of the food. it could use improvement. I would recommend Brookdale.

Enjoyable and friendly.

The staff are very helpful, the food is good 95% of the time, the resources are top notch. Some issues with weekly cleaning but I believe we have that resolved.

[name removed], a sales rep, went above and beyond getting my mom to Brookdale from the hospital. My mom has dementia and can be extremely combative! [name removed] picked her up from the hospital, kept talking to her, and continued to work with her once they finally got her to mom's room. [name removed] spent time looking through family pictures and consoling her and trying to acclimate mom to her new environment. I couldn't have gotten mom there without [name removed]!

[names removed] are all amazing and they go out of their way to care for people and to handle situations. They do have some other employees that could use some work and they still need to work on their laundry situation working out better.
