Brookdale

Brookdale Assisted Living is a small community. It is in a nice residential neighborhood which makes it feel more comfortable. It has been open for a while and is starting to show some signs of wear, but it looks like updates are in work as possible. I would feel comfortable having my mother live there. The residents and staff are happy and comfortable with each other.

A very pleasant experience. The property was clean and well maintained. Staff seemed to be pleasant and caring. Residents seemed happy and interacted with each other and with staff. This facility will definitely be on our to be considered list.

Most of the staff there are loving and caring, a couple are just doing their jobs. I think that in your area where you have the television that you should have some snacks that the patients could indulge in and also some cold drinks without having to ask somebody every time they would like to have something and maybe yes or no, they could get it.

The staff is excellent and give wonderful care. I know my mother has had some difficulties with the food. Sometimes it's too salty or too much. I think she also really misses not having fresh fruit available daily. I usually have to bring her fresh fruit if she wants any. I think in particular [name removed] and the desk service team are wonderful and quick to help and answer questions. My mom also loves all the Med Tech's and they are so patient with her. I really appreciate them.

The facility was always clean, the staff was very nice to my Mom and our family. The room and bathroom were a decent size. The facility had a wide range of activities for the residence. The facility was very quiet. The one negative comment I have is that the emergency pull chord wasn't reattached when her room was prepared. My Mom fell out of bed and no one came when she pulled the chord. She had to scream until someone came in.

Brookdale is lovely. My Mom has been there a year now and has made friends and everyone takes good care of her. [name removed] is really good with the residents. He spends time with them and really gets to know them. It is small enough so that Mom doesn't feel overwhelmed. [name removed] the activities director works hard to decorate for all occasions and she often has family dinners. I am still very happy with our choice

There were times when I was not happy...one being when the sliding door at the bathroom was left unhinged for quite some time. I had to call attention to it before it was fixed. Nurses attending to him should have noticed this when bathing him and having it fixed immediately. I know you can't be all things to all people but safety should be high on the list. I will have to give a 4.

[name removed] was amazing answered all our questions and was very helpful and helped with directing us to other services.

Overall I had a positive impression of Brookdale Ann Arbor. The facility had no major items that were negative. Minor items were the location, possible limited parking. Further research would be needed for both positive and negative items. While laundry service is available, I do not know if a laundry area is available for residents to use or what condition the various amenities are in. Brookdale is on my list of places to consider.

Looks very nice, everyone seems pretty happy and the staff is courteous, considerate, and professional. I think this would be a good fit for my 95 year old veteran Dad.

Very nice place. A bit too expensive for our family. We could have afforded independent living but assisted living would be too high priced for us. The facilty seemed to have everything a senior would need.

They were not told of our visit ahead of time so we waited over 1/2 hour while she helped another interested person. Not their fault!

[Name Removed] who runs facility was so helpful in trying to problem solve (my dad had a lot of issues) He was determined to find a work around or solution for all issues Staff was always so welcoming and appreciative of visitors and accommodating

Friendly staff, my dad got good medical care, he loved his room and housekeeping keep it spotless.

I received a vital tour video of the home and all the options available. Brookdale’s all seem to be active in their clients care and interest.

Friendly atmosphere and residents. Everyone was very welcoming and cheerful. Staff especially seemed to love their job. Doing remodeling to upgrade apartments. Only concern is the washer dryer not in rooms. But we’re just starting our search

The activities director is PHENOMENAL!!! Offers many great activities, themed parties and trips. I would recommend

We liked the friendliness of the staff and the appearance of the facility. We had another family member live here many years ago.

The facility is extremely clean. More than once, they missed giving my father his shower. We complained and they said they would handle it and they did not. Meds and lotions would disappear, not in his locker-locked away, just disappeared. They do not work with you or give you any suggestions on how or where to go for help. The director was upbeat and they will love facility. Just ANY over the counter meds....watch out!!!

Staff are approachable. The building is older, but clean and well kept. She pays for additional services, but routinely has to ask for the assistance. She doesn't like the food, but she is picky. I would recommend
