Brookdale

My Mom hasn't fully moved into her Independent Living Apartment at Brookdale. However she really likes her 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment and is looking forward to completing the move from the home where she has lived for over 50 years. My brother and I looked at many different properties in SE Huntsville and this was the best for her. Unlike other facilities offering similar apartments and amenities, it requires no outrageously expensive up front buy in for lifelong continuous care. There was a modest non-refundable deposit to cover new paint and carpet plus assistance with move in from the maintenance staff. My brother is working closely with the staff to facilitate the move. He reports that they are very amenable to suggestions for minor changes that will make the apartment safer for our Mom. We were impressed by the dining facility and services of the dietician. It is time for Mom to move to a more sheltered environment. At age 85 she can no longer drive or manage the upkeep of a house and lawn. We believe that Brookdale offers the best value for the money in Southeast Huntsville. She will live in her own apartment home and still feel independent in a safe and protective environment. However, as she needs additional assistance, Assisted Living services can be performed in her apartment and fees for these additional services can be covered by Long Term Care Insurance.

Very good first impression. This home deals with dementia and Alzheimer patients. They are very patient, caring and do good work. Our experience (about 1 week) has been positive. The facility is clean, the food is good, and everyone is helpful.

We've been really pleased. The food I have tried and I would give it a 4 and a half. The staff is very friendly they always seems to know where she is and what she is doing. Their response time is pretty good, but I think she would like to see that be a little quicker when she rings a call bell.

This place has done a great job so far. It's very clean, and the staff are very friendly and genuine. I also like that the staffing has been very consistent, not a lot of turnover. Dad has also had good things to say about the food!

Brookdale has a very friendly atmosphere all the way from sales staff to care givers. They really wanted to know as much as possible about my husband to make him feel at home which to me was very important!

I was favorably impressed with this facility from the first phone call I made to them. They are professional, accommodating and willing to work with the family to provide the care needed. The facility itself is beautiful, clean and welcoming from the street to the apartments. I really liked that it is a smaller facility so they can give more individual attention and help the residents that might need some extra help.

They're all very friendly. They all have monitors and have been very prompt with every thing. They had a Christmas Dinner and sometimes have someone playing the piano. The food would be about a four. It's well run, it's clean and friendly and my folks feel secure. This was priced better than others and they have a nurse that's on duty 12 hours a day. They also have different levels of care. And they have different levels of assistance so they can won't have to move again if they need a little more help.

I visited 4 assisted living facilities in Wichita Falls. I was most impressed with the personnel and the layout of this facility. Since my mother moved in 3 weeks ago, there has been a transition. Now she has made some friends and really likes it!

It's very clean. I'm very happy with the services she is getting. They have get togethers they have a room full of puzzles, an activity room. We tried the food before she went there, and she says it's good, she is happy with it. She has made some friends the people seem to interact among themselves. They have many things to keep their residents occupied. The staff was very helpful to us. They include the first three levels of care with the basic fee.

The staff went out of their way to be accommodating and are so sweet and caring. They help my mom when she doesn't know how to help herself. I would be lost without them.

They have four units from independent through memory care. It's nice that all the buildings are connected and even though they are in different units for different levels of care they can visit one another with out leaving the building. My mother in law complains about the food, but I think it's probably ok.

It's been great. There is a lot to do. The one thing that my mother tells me is that the food is could be a little better.

We were very impressed w/how friendly & caring the staff were. The facility itself was very clean & inviting. I have no doubt that this is the perfect fit for us.

Their food was unbelievably good! Their menu was top notch. It's huge, it's really large and I kind of didn't like that. I felt like they could get lost. It's really beautiful. If you're social and like to be around people then you are fine over there. If you want a more intimate situation then maybe not so much.

There have been some delays due to my Mom's entering the facility so quickly having being released from the hospital right before the Thanksgiving holiday. The doctors did not send all of their orders to Emeritus and it taken a week to really get the ball rolling. Some miscommunication as to what I needed to do and what they do. But all of this would have happened anywhere I believe at a holiday time. The facility and staff have treated Mom so well, it has been a wonderful setting for her. She is making friends and adjusting as she is also having to heal from a fractured pelvis. Once she heals, I think she will be able to enjoy being there more -- and less restrained.

The rooms are very spacious and clean. It has everything there that you could possibly need and the people are very helpful and friendly. The food is excellent and all homemade, soup every day, and they help you to your table. Transport vans to everything. Lots of shows to watch, and many activities. The library is excellent. The only down side is the high price.

Just moved mom today. All went well, better than expected. Staff was very helpful. Clean,friendly,value - inline with others, we have friends who's parent are there.

The staff have been very compassionate and helpful caring for my mother, they even help care for her dog who is her constant companion.

After viewing several the assisted living established in Mesa...There was NO other place to consider, that this was the place for our loved one....Betty, Liz and all the staff was wonderful..Don Gatts is very happy that he chose to be his home..We came back to Ohio with no worry that we had chosen THE place for him.

My wife was a resident for almost two years. The care is very good. The office people were exceptional to work with. No complaints from me.
