Brookdale

From the moment my family stepped into Emeritus, we knew this was going to be the perfect place for my mother. Every staff member (Robin, Kathleen, Micheal, Helen, etc.) treats you like family and are so attentive to your loved ones personal needs. The food is the down home southern cooking that the south is known to provide. If your resident enjoys activities, Emeritus does an over-the-top job of providing a variety of events and keeping everyone busy throughout the day. My family has no regrets for choosing Emeritus as my mother's new home.

The staff is very loving and caring. I hear the food is good, but I haven’t had the opportunity to try it myself. Parking is limited which is really my only beef with this community. There are a lot of activities which is really good for residents.

Life can be difficult and there’s never enough staff, but with difficult diseases more support would always be good. It’s one of the better, a top tier community. Amongst their peers they are the best. I think the staff is very friendly. I can’t really speak to the food.

Fillmore Pond was lovely and lively. We are looking forward to moving our mother there soon. A Place For Mom found it the first day we were looking. Completely fit our needs. Frankly, we expected a much more tiresome search.

I've been very impressed since visiting my dad here. We had a very short period of time to find my father new housing. The services and amenities are excellent. He's only been here 3 weeks but already feels comfortable and settled in. Thank you!

The food would be a 5, it looked good, but I haven't actually tasted it yet. There haven't been any complaints. They are a good value, and it was a good, clean place, and the location worked best for us.

Based on my initial assessment in determining to move my aunt into Clare Bridge, I've been very pleased with my interactions with the staff and the quality of the facility. It wasn't the least expensive option, but it seemed to be the best value for the services offered. I liked that it was a small facility and in excellent condition. The residents seemed well cared for and content.

I could not have done this without the help of the wonderful people at A Place for Mom. They were kind, genuine and beyond attentive to every need we had as a family. I would recommend them to anyone I know that would be in need of a place for their loved ones. In choosing Brookdale Place, I discovered a sense of peace and true caring. I couldn't be happier.

Very friendly staff, very helpful to me and my father when we had to move my mother into their respite on short notice. She is now no longer respite but a regular resident. I like how social things are there, she seems to be enjoying the food and has improved her nutrition. Place is spotless. I really only have one concern and that is that some of my mom's bric-a-brac seems to have walked off, possibly with another resident. However, I am very satisfied so far with Clare Bridge and would recommend to anyone who needs Memory Care for a parent.

We love Horizon Bay!! It's expensive, but you do get a lot for your money! The type of care and the attention to detail that they offered, and provide, really fit out needs and is exactly what we were looking for. The activies are great! There's always something going on! They go on outings, and they even set up bowling within the complex the other day! Our loved one is excited and happy here!

Our experience at Eddy Pond-Woods has been wonderful and has met or exceeded our expectations. The staff is thoughtful, courteous, skilled, and a pleasure to deal with on a regular basis. The facility itself is bright, open, extremely clean, very welcoming, and well-designed to meet the needs of its residents. We would recommend this facility highly.

We were greeted each time we came to Emeritus with a great deal of care and friendliness. Mom has just gotten into the facility and is adjusting right now. Everything seems wonderful beyond our expectations. Everyone was very helpful at the move in: The head nurse and the community relations staff really seemed to understand our needs and Mom's needs. The maintenance staff helped us get the room ready. They even helped us make our first good-byes as painless as possible.

A place for mom was the best way to go. Everyone i spoke to were quick to respond and knew what they were talking about. it took about two days to find a place for my father.

We've only been here for a short while, but everything is going great so far and we are very happy here! Really have no areas of improvement as of yet. We are happy with our choice so far!

Honestly, none of the other properties we saw compared to Chancellor. Mom has been there 4 nights now. They are addressing all of her needs and personally see to it that she is escorted for the first week so that she becomes familiar with the building and amenities. The food was very good and she is thrilled to no longer have to see to her own meals. The studio was immaculate when we moved in. Within minutes of our request, the facility manager had lowered the hanger bar in the closet so that Mom could reach it. The residents appear to be engaged in activities and are very friendly. On our visit, staff attendants said "hello" to us and residents. As we were moving items into Mom's room, ladies seated for a Rumikub game near her door asked if I was the "Lady of the house". Definitely a friendly group. The Chairman of the Resident group introduced himself to Mom at her first meal. It is very early in the experience, but has been more than we could have expected. Mom seems happy and wonders why she waited so long to move!

Our first impression of Emeritus at Pine Park was that it is beautiful and clean. We noticed the residents seemed happy and the staff was very professional and welcoming. We explained what that we needed to move my father to N.C to be close to us; we explained his needs, and we explained what we were looking for in an assisted living facility. They heard us and helped us navigate the process. Now that he is there and settled in, we remain impressed. His studio is clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and open, and he is very content. He enjoys the food and dining atmosphere. They provide activities and outings. He is not able to participate in many of them, but the staff is good about steering him to scheduled gatherings. They have a family night once every month and many theme events so the residents and families have importunity to socialize. We are pleased.

Great environment, caring staff, good food. We were warned about unexpected "a la cart" charges and this was true. This is Assisted Living as opposed to Skilled Care Nursing and there is a big difference. They will do as much as you pay for. Anything they do, above their very basic service, has an extra charge involved. I.E., meds, feeding, bathroom, dressing, help to and from dining, etc. Expect another $500 to $1000 extra per month above what was quoted. Review your bill closely and ask questions.

They are pet friendly, and the food is pretty good! We were impressed with the cleanliness, and the rooms were decent. They have a great activities director and they take the bus to go out and do activities, like look at Christmas lights, or go to the doctor. They even have a Veteran's trip to Washington, DC coming up! The care is good, and they handle prescriptions pretty well. I've experienced a few issues with the billing department. There seems to be a big disconnect between Wynwood and their parent company, Brookdale. They allowed us to negotiate some finances, but they did not reflect on our bill. However, we did really like that they offered a short term loan. You are able to sell assets in order to cover the costs while you wait for Medicaid to kick in, which is extremely helpful for families who weren't able to plan as much as some others.

I am extremely well pleased with the care and comfort that my Pop has recieved while at Statesville Manor. Every effort is made to make these seniors feel at home and at ease. And Pop raves about the food! He has his own computer with access to high speed internet and his television with cable service. There is often some form of entertainment, And most importantly, he has social interaction with the people around him, Yes, I would definitely recommend this facility if you are looking for a "place for mom or dad"!

We loved Emeritus! They treated my mom with care and dignity she deserved.
