This is absolutely wonderful. They seem to have a knack for knwoing how to get her to take her medication, she's incontinent now, they can get her to let them help her change, she sleeps in her bed in her room, where she was before, she was sleeping on the couch in the common area. The director really seems to be on top of thing, I can go to her with, let's say concerns, and she gets right on it. The med techs seem very caring and knowledgeable about how to get her to interact with them. This was my number 2 choice, I did not choose them because they're about 7 minutes away from my house on a street that I go up and down all the time and I didn't think I could mentally handle driving up and down there knowing she was in there. I've noticed she's better dressed, her clothes match, the colors are better coordinated. Here her clothes are locked up in the closet in her room and they go in the morning and pick out an outfit and if she eneds help, they help her get dressed.

We actually met with Ann Layton, not Rachel. Ann was very professional and highly effective at communicating her desire to see the best option be implemented for the person in need. We trualy appreciated her engaging in the problem solving process with us. She made some key points that really stuck out for us in our analysis of our options, now and in the future should we choose Emeritus. We really were excited about the option she suggested of 'Day Stay.' We didn't see as many residents wandering the halls due to the time of day we toured the community but we saw enough interactions between the staff and residents that we feel there is a good level presence of this. The facility was clean and appealing. The offering at Emeritus seemed in line with our future needs and Ann was very effective at communicating her willingness to work with us has we continued the journey of evaluating our needs and timing. We would definitely keep this community on the list of options for future care of our parents.

The location was phenomenal and that was great, my grandma really enjoyed it. She was more or less social and she liked the group areas where they congregated and the fact that you weren't segregated to one area of the house. We didn't eat there much, we usually would go to one of the restaurants that was within earshot of the palce and offered senior discounts. They were very accomodating, not a lot changed while she was there. She fell once of her own accord, nothing to do with the property, but they were very responsive and I really thought it was the best community, we did a lot of drive bys and talked to people and it was the best in the area.

My aunt only wanted a one bedroom and they gave her a two bedroom for now. The only ting is they did not let us know that we are going to be on a waiting list. They said as soon as a single room is available they will let us know but we didn't know there were people ahead of us. They should have told us right away because now we don't know how long it will be before she gets a single room. We chose Pacific Inn because, number one, it's close to our house. Number two, my aunt liked the place although they have very limited parking for guests, even on the street. It's not encouraging for family members to visit. I think they have an activity coming up for family members to join but if everybody comes then there's no parking. All that matters is she likes it there and she does.

This facility was very nice. Large but more spacious and open and friendly. The units were very nice, even the studio. The outside area was pleasant and quiet. The dining area and common areas were spacious and friendly. The staff was clean and pleasant.

Really liked this place. 10 minutes from my home and very friendly people there. We toured the sister community, Wynwood and decided that independent living is a better fit. Exec. Director, John will call us when he has an apt to show us - 2-3 weeks due to flooding issues.

Had we gone to the Murrieta area we probably would have chosen that one. It was really nice. The apartments were nice. It was a really nice environment. Everything was clean. They were very friendly there. The price was probably about 1000 less than the place we ended up going with. It was close to a little strip mall that had a drug store and a hair salon and a couple restaurants - that was nice.

Very nice. Huge units and closets with full kitchen. This would be my first choice. However only serve 2 meals a day and housekeeping every other week instead of weekly.

They're wonderful! Everything is wonderful. The people and the care and the cleanliness - all of it is wonderful. They have all kind of activities for the residents. They have painting, they have bingo, yatzee, they go to Wal-Mart, casinos, and other outings- they do a lot of things The meals are wonderful. I liked that it wasn't very big and everyone was friendly and they still are friendly. I like the set up - the courtyard and where the rooms are. I just felt it was safe for my sister. She's doing well there.

I get feedback from the home instead people and they say they have been very good and how clean it is there. Of course, my sister is happy there and that's the most important things and she's eating 3 meals a day and the food is great! In fact, my sister's said the food is so great she put on a little weight so she's going to have to watch it. My sister didn't like any of the places she looked at until she came to Emeritus, it looks more like a house and not like an institution.

Outstanding facility and staff

I was asked by my sweetie to find a place for his 95 year old mom to live in an assisted living in Vero Beach ...he was helping her to leave her house in New Jersey after 63 years, plus leaving her husband and dog behind as well. A daunting task for anyone to undertake! I heard about A Place for Mom on the radio and was instantly connected to my senior advisor Olga Giner. I was quickly informed about several places and many resources...amazing. I chose Sterling House for it's homelike and smaller scale. Not only is it nearby but the staff are so friendly and it is a very happy place. So many thanks for Olga's help and Virginia is making a beautiful transition...yes...we have peace of mind!

This is the one I would most enjoy living myself. I like the private patio areas, and not too many scooters in the hallways like there were at other places. This location is also most convenient for me. It doesn't have assisted living, and that may be a plus because there seems to be less regulation in an independent only place.

My mother moved into the Heritage at Southfield in June and was very reluctant to make the move from her independent apartment. She has been very happy here with the apartment and her continued independence. The convenience of prepared meals has been a great help to her and the meals are excellent. The employees at the Heritage are all so welcoming and friendly and ready to help. They create such an accommodating atmosphere. The Heritage also provides additional care if it is needed, so that additional moves to assisted living are unnecessary. I would highly recommend the Heritage of Southfield.

Though the people we spoke with at all facilities seemed genuine and caring we felt like the needs of my dad were most understood and would be best met at Clare Bridge of Monroe.

The staff are very supportive and out going! I would recommend Emeritus @ South Windsor to everyone.

This was a very difficult decision to make for us. We looked at a few different facilitys,with the help from A Place For Mom. When we took a tour at Clare Bridge of Niskayuna with Matt Pinto he explained what they provide. When we left we knew this was the right place for my husbands brother.They are always helpful with any questions. My husbands brother is adjusting very quickly with the suport of the staff. We are very pleased with the decision we made for him and would recomend Clare Bridge without any hesitation.

It is never easy to place a loved one in someone else's care. These people spent extra time with us to ensure that they could provide all her needs. The facility is large enough to leave room for a bit of "exploring" (change of pace) with large screened porches plus enclosed garden area. But it is small enough that the various common areas feel comfortable to all. You don't have to walk miles to get to her room. Private bed/sitting rooms mean that personal furniture & pictures came along to help the transition. The staff tries hard to accommodate meal choices and provide snacks to stimulate appetite. Days we can't visit, they ensure she gets outside for some sunshine. She gets her hair done within the facility, and they take care of the laundry! She is clean & properly dressed, and her room is always nicely done up. Activities are somewhat limited due to cognitive limitations, but there is more stimulation that she had at home. Staffing ratio is good. This is a big relief to us, as my husband has health issues himself. We are blessed that she has the funds to enable this solution.

Upon first arriving at Clare Bridge, I was impressed with the facility. Most important is that it did NOT smell. The staff warmly received me, showed me around and explained their concept. Even though Clare Bridge is a alzheimer/dementia memory care facility, they do not have everyone who suffers from that congregated in 1 area. They have them divided into "neighborhoods" with 8-10 in each "neighborhood". The same aids (2) are always there assisting the residents of their "neighborhood", even when a shift changes, it is always those same aids. This provides consistency for the residents in each neighborhood which is important for those with alzheimers/dementia. In each "neighborhood is a common familyroom, kitchen eating area where those 8-10 "hang out", and eat. The residents roam in a very safe, secure environment to several nice area including the ability to go outside and enjoy flowers, birds etc. Clare Bridge is a great place for families to interact with their loved ones because there are so many areas families can go and talk. Alot of activities go on and every time I am there, I am impressed with the participation of the residents. It is like a great big home in alot of ways. Even though it is private pay, we did not find it any higher than other memory care facilities where you can roll onto Medicaid when you run out of money. The whole environment and the staff are all is very welcoming!! I highly recommend a tour to anyone!!
