Brookdale

I took a tour of this property and slso had dinner there, which was very good. It is a really nice property and Tiffany was very accommodating as was Maryanne (sp). However, I feel now that I should stay in my home, possibly in a year or two I may have a change of heart. Thanks to every one for your help.

I don't think their housekeeping is that great. Nobody seems to be in charge of the housekeeping but in terms of making my husband happy, doing things that are interesting, and taking good care of him physically it's all good. He loves it there. I think it's expensive but it's certainly not as expensive as some of the other places I checked out. I think they probably have to charge that much. My husband was in a nursing home before and he was becoming so sad and dependent. He's really perked up at Sterling House. I think it was the answer to my prayers. I am really able to relax because I know that he's being taken care of.

They were good, they were sufficiently staffed, nice, very accomodating, they helped my dad, they were friendly, they nurses were all good but he was only there 3 weeks. It was local, good food and it seemed to be a good palce when we looked.

Staff is very knowledgeable and eager to help you through the process of transitioning a loved one from home to their facility straight to memory care. Staff is friendly to residents, guests and each other. They listen to your needs and make sure they are providing the correct level of care. Willing to help you with decisions that don't necessarily impact their care (for example suggesting guardianship, etc.) I'm very happy with our decision to move Mom there,

Mom is living at Emeritus at Creekview. It is very clean. The staff is really really nice. I can't say enough!

My situation was different in that my dad refused to go. I really loved the place, it looked great, the people were really nice, it was the right sized place (it wasn't immense but it wasn't too small), it was clean, it was bright, it was light, the hallways were wide, the people were very good to me but I didn't understand how quickly I would get into a contract with them so I got kind of panicky. They were good to me and they were offering me a room that was in a good spot, then they wanted a deposit so I got a little nervous but I came back to put down the deposit and then we got into a contract which was very lengthy and covered everything under the sun and I got emotional. I wanted to know what would happen if my dad didn't come so she went off and talked to her regional rep and they offered me a deal so I ended up agreeing to it and then my dad wouldn't come. It turned out that I owed them for 2 weeks for him being there when he wasn't and there was the deposit which is like a residents fee, they gave me half of it back and I ended up paying over 2000 for a place my dad never went to. They did say they would credit us back if he did decide to move in but that's the part that makes me unsure. I liked this over the other places I saw but I would be nervous about getting billed for things.

I haven't had any problems with it, some of them are more friendly than others, but they're all great people, they're providing excellent care. They have a variety of activities from what I've seen on the schedule but I haven't acutally been there to see how they are run. Number one, I liked the facility, i liked the people that were there, and number 2 it was closest to my house. The also have a patio area that the residents can go out and get fresh air, its an enclosed patio so they can come and go as they like.

The care and timeliness of Brent's service to me for my dad was amazing. She sent me referrals, followed up with me and discussed options based on my dad's needs all within a day/24hr period. I was able to find and settle on a place for my dad by the second day. Incredible and loving service. Thanks you Brent.

This was the first place that I visited when searching for a place for mom. None of the other homes compared to Emeritus. They had everything I wanted for her. Caring people, clean from the kitchen to the bedrooms. It is a friendly environment, ones who work there are great, very helpful and smile a lot. That's important. They did everything they could to make this transition painless.

I love Sterling House, they're really good. Everybody there, whether it's right from the head person right down to the people working there, they always try to help you, whatever you may need or want they do whatever they can to help you. They have a wonderful activities director, his name's Chris, and he's really, really good. In the mornings, he has my aunt going to "exercises" but sometimes they have these bands they move, they move their feet, they raise their arms up and down and at the same time he's telling them stories to make them laugh. They play bingo, wheel of fortune, he also did a cake walk the other day. He also takes them twice a month to a different restaraunt and I think every Wednesday at 11 the ladies (and the men too if they want to) go into the sunroom and he files their nails for him.

Here's pretty good, the care is very good. I have not found any problems with it, the food is good, it's definitely not slop. The cleanliness is good, the staff is nice, the management is very nice. It's on the bus route which makes it easier to get to and I love the van service. Believe it or not, mom is doing better than I thought she would, she likes it. I'm liking it too because at first I was having a hard time with it and letting go but they're making it easier with transportation and the nurses are on call; so I had a problem with medication and I called them and they cleared it right up.

Our first experience came when touring the facility. This was the first community we toured my husband and I knew this was the place for my mom. No matter what part of the tour we were on residents and employees greeted with a smile & hello. Residents are happy and the employees seem to be proud of where they work. Very homey atmosphere. It is a small community, 56 small apts divided into 4 "neighborhoods", easy for residents to walk around inside and outside. Each neighborhood is designed so the caregivers, RA's, & med techs can see the residents rooms. Each neighborhood has a kitchen/dining area which makes the dining experience more personal and initmate. There are 2 choices for lunch and dinner. Family members can eat with their loved ones at no charge. Activities are all inclusive, residents will be asked to partake to the point of going to their rooms and asking them to be involved. The grounds are like being in a backyard with plenty of room to walk around. Employees seem to know each of the residents, their personalities, their conditions. They know all residents by name and they are treated with respect. When there are issues to be addressed they will work to resolve. The monthly cost is the same every month, no hidden fees, no set up charges for medication/ dispense, etc. My mom has been a resident as of 09/01/13 she is happy and so are we.!!!

I think the value was alright. My sister could afford it so it was alright. I think she got good care there. They had good activities. She didn't join everything but she did take part in a few. My sister spilled some coffee and then fell and broke her knee there. She went to rehab and we would have taken her back there but one of the reasons she's not there now is once she's in a wheelchair that costs more money and the more care you need the more it costs. They charge extra for everything.

We moved my mother-in-law here last week. So far, she is really happy. She is involved and active. The staff is working hard to make her feel welcome and to keep her occupied. Gone are the please to "go home" or trying to leave the facility every five minutes. She seems happy, and that makes us happy. The rooms are shared, but I think that is good for my MIL. She was very lonely at night. I think she is comforted having someone else in the room. The facility is clean and neat. It is bright with a lovely outdoor area in the middle. The only thing that I think they could change is the presentation of the meals. The food smells good, and the residents told me it's good. However, it looks like cafeteria food ("ice cream scoop" mashed potatoes, cubes of meat, etc.) It would be nice to have it look more like home. The staff has been friendly, supportive, and helpful. My MIL has already made friends and enjoys "helping" the staff.

We pay a little bit more but its' a smaller place so I think it's worth it, at least for my mom. They have three different sized one bedrooms and she has the mid-sized one. The care is great. They've actually helped a lot. When we first got her there she needed full assisted living and now she doesn't need any. They really helped to get her independent. She loves bingo, watercolor classes and the exercise classes. She's never in her apartment I've been really happy with them. My mom was on the waiting list and had some falling issues and they took her into the studio unit and then helped us to get her healthy. She raves about the food there. She says it's like being on a cruise ship. Everybody is very nice. It's been an amazing experience for us. My mom has thrived.

Nice facility and size. Great staff familiarity with residents. Have ambassadors for new residents. $90/mo to smoke.

This all happened so suddenly; my Mom died unexpectedly, my Dad had to move out of his apartment and in with me. His dementia was much further along than I had known. We couldn't leave him alone and soon he was becoming depressed and threatening bad actions. Emeritus was willing to work with us very quickly to make room for him so that he would be in a safe place, and even after he had a very rebellious first attempt at living here they stood by us and reached out to him and he is now very, very comfortable and actually loves where he's living. The staff is tremendous; I don't know how they do it. The facility is above average and I have a warm feeling every time I visit. I don't know how to thank them enough.

My 91 year old uncle needed a place to call home. A place where his life would be meaningful. At Horizon Bay he's alive, thriving, and not just passing time. I live out of state, and everyone at Horizon Bay keeps me informed. Everything, everyone does there, for him or for me is with heart and passion. My uncle is the happiest he's been in years. And whether he has 1 year or ten years, he's earned this time to be filled with the best of health, happiness, peace, and people who truly care for him. I'm so thankful. And now I have peace knowing he's not just alive, he's living, and loving it at........91 years young.

We were having a tough time finding a place for our mother who has dementia with some behavioral issues. No one would take her. I then called "A place for mom" and they suggested Clare Bridge. The people at Clare Bridge worked with us and were so nice. they moved my mom in there within 2 weeks and it has been a lifesaver. The staff is so wonderful and friendly and the place takes very good care of mom. they keep us very informed and mom is much happier there. she is past having the behavioral issues now and Clare Bridge is working with us and hospice to provide excellent care for mom. I recommend them highly.
