Brookdale

My husband and sister-in-law fell in love with this place when they toured it. We had a few additional places we were scheduled to go, but they didn't feel the need to look any further. The staff are all very friendly, and it's a nice clean community. They provide a wonderful array of activities, and my mother-in-law has really started to get involved and participate in many of them. And she absolutely loves the food. She said it is so good and they give you so much she worries she may be overweight soon!

We toured Brookdale Place and talked at length with Tanum Ollila. I cannot say enough about Brookdale and Tanum. The facility is clean and welcoming. Tanum is so patient and helpful. I definitely recommend families consider Brookdale Place.

Seems like a good match for my brother for now. Good deal on getting in.

A Place For Mom was a VERY helpful organization. Debbie (the representative) offered several locations for Mom. One of the locations was Emeritus at Mesa, and we chose this one. Debbie kept in contact with me throughout this process. I very much appreciated her assistance. Emeritus at Mesa is a lovely place, and it is close to my home, so visiting Mom will only be a short distance away. The employees at Emeritus at Mesa are very friendly and very helpful. I thank A Place for Mom and Emeritus at Mesa.

My Mother is now living at Sterling house. The staff has been more than nice and attentive to my Mother. She enjoys everyone of them, from the business office to the nurses and aids. I noticed even the cook interacts with the residents. What I was impressed with was that all the staff participates in the serving at meal times, even the nurses. Then when mealtime is over they go back to their duties. The facility is clean and has very home like atmosphere. We are very pleased and feel that our mother has improved physically with the therapy and seems much more relaxed. She enjoys the activities. They will come to her suite and let her know what is going on in case she misses it on the schedule. They go beyond the call of duty.

I was very impressed with this place the first time I saw it! Kim, the sales director, is wonderful, and answered all of my questions I had during the tour, and got back to me quickly with others I had later. I couldn't find anything wrong or that I thought they should improve when I toured, and as a nurse I was looking with a very critical eye. My parents love all the activities, and the food is great as well. I really have nothing bad to say about this place!

I'd probably give it a 5, but they don't compromise, you just have to have money to plop down if you want them to stay there. It's about $4500/month for the cheapest room, and they had others that were more expensive. My brother didn't want to pay that much. It was nice as far as the accommodations, with nice rooms, but the ones that we could afford were a little small for what my mother needed.

When my wife suddenly took a turn for the worse with Alzheimers and we, GrannyNannys and myself, could no longer to care for her at home, I was completely lost as to what to do next. Fortunately I receive a call from Debbie Antolik representing "A Place for Mom" who gave me the information necessary re: different places to visit in our area. From this information, I decided to check into Emeritus of Lake Mary first and met with Joe McBride, a very dedicated and committed employee of Ameritus. Joe showed me around, answered all my quetions, and informed me of the options I had. After my visit with Joe, there was no need to visit the other places suggested by A Place of Mom. This was to be my wife's new home! 24 hours later I called Joe and made the committment to place my wife in Emaritus. Arrangements were made for me to meet with the Director, Tammy, to consumate the transactions. She was more than cordual and made the transition for this new way of life for my wife as easy and simple as she possibly could. Since entering Emeritus, my has wife been extremely happy, especially with the caring staff, So much so that the staff has also "fallen in love" with her. They say she has put a whole new "life" in the Unit. As a result of everything going so well, and after 59 years of my wife and I being together, I decided to place myself in Ameritus of Lake Mary as well and signed a contract for an Assisted Living Suite. This way we will be able to continue our lives together, only with a new lifestyle.

Toured on 12/9/13 Very warm, friendly, and clean and the many common areas were inviting. 98% occupancy.

My Mom was only a brief time due to some unforeseen health issues, but during her short stay there they were absolutely fantastic. We had to move her in on short notice and they bent over backwards to help us with our urgent search. It's a beautiful facility, very clean and nice looking. The staff are great, they're friendly, caring, and very professional. Even on her first day there they were going out of their way to make her feel welcome and get her involved in the activities. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for care.

Very clean, exceptionally friendly, and a very good value. We had experience with another facility that had less services for more money, so we are delighted with the value for the attention and care services. My mom is very elderly and has had different falls and needs a lot of care getting from spot to spot, and she never has to wait very long. They have Bingo a couple times a week as well as crafts and word games. It is a small place, though, and it would be nice to see more activities for the people who are not as mentally challenged. My mom has all her marbles and it seems like she is bored by some of the activities. We moved her there because they have a license for a very high level of care in assisted living. The health care is excellent; whenever there is any change in her status they call me right away.

After my Mother broke her hip and her dementia worsened I was led to believe the only option for her was to place her in a nursing home. Several years ago I had contacted A Place For Mom just to see what my options might be when the time came that Mom might need Assisted Living. When I began seeking out nursing home options I remembered A Place For Mom and contacted them. Carole Starr called me within 24 hours and I will be forever grateful for her help. I learned I had other options. Mom needs 24 hour nursing care and had bypassed going to Assisted Living. Carole presented options for memory care units I didn't know were available. She encouraged me to tour a few facilities she felt might meet Mom's needs and my husband and I were blown away. We ultimately chose Homewood Residence at Brookmont Terrace and placed Mom in their Clare Bridge Memory Care unit where she is being loved on and cared for like she is in a home rather than in a hospital setting. I am beyond excited about having Mom there. I feel very comfortable knowing she is in very competent hands and is being well cared for.

I can only review on appearance since I have not been in state since she was moved. However, the appearance rates a full five stars and my sister has not complained once!

Emeritus seems to be the most logical place for him. Amber was very professional and helpful. The tour was detailed; she showed us around the whole facility. My husband will contact a man that Amber recommends to help us with the VA benefits that he may be eligible for. The facility was very clean and very attractive. All of the employees made a point of speaking to us as we were touring. The Studio apartment was attractive and very roomy; we believe it will meet his needs nicely.

It's been going well. I think that certain residents are always going to take more advantage of the activities than others. I think they are pretty fair for what they offer, price-wise. They make pretty much everything from scratch, so the food is pretty good. If I were to let a family know anything going in, I would say to get all your questions ready ahead of time and make sure they are answered.

Grand Court Tampa fulfills my wishes of a happy, safe and attentive environment as my mother Enjoys her "golden years". Always greeted with a warm welcome at the front desk, you feel that you have entered a family members home. I definitely recommend Grand Court Tampa.

Great facility! The size would be perfect for dad. The residents are friendly and happy.

Relaxed atmosphere and fun, involved activities director.

My grandmother has lived at this community for years now. It's the cleanest and friendliest property in the area. Any question or issue we have is addressed with urgency. There is ALWAYS someone available to help. The director makes sure you have her cell phone number upon move in in the unlikely event that you have a question or problem that you need her to address immediately. The liveliness of the community is evident upon arrival. I agree that they are not the newest, but they are defiantly the BEST.

They've been really accommodating. I was not comfortable with this move I felt like I was dropping my mom off and thy have made everyone very comfortable and she seems to be very happy with it. They are having their Christmas get together now, and everyone seems to be here. The activities are great! When my wife came to visit she couldn't find her because she was playing bingo and I wouldn't think of her as a bingo person. They had an elevator and are very reasonably priced, it's a couple of the reasons we chose it.
