Brookdale

We're very pleased with the service so far. The staff are very friendly, and I feel like they really care about the residents. They're always available and more than happy to help with any problems or concerns. I'd like to see them have a little more variety in the activities they provide, but they just hired a new activities director and I think that will improve things.

The only thing I would kind of like to be done is to be able to get into the facility without her being able to see me. The plaza area is real cute but it's the only entrance. I understand why they can't do that It's a secure facility, but it would be nice to be able to drop things off without getting her worked up. I'm glad that they are doing everything they can to keep people protected, they are very friendly, very nice, the staff, the caregivers, everyone, and she seems to have lots of activities to do. She seems to be happy. I liked the way it was set up like a little town, with little false fronts of little shops and gives them a sense of going places, and they have a little barber shop and salon, it was different. They have a nice patio. I've been pleased so far. She is just happy as a lark.

We are very pleased, and the food is very good! I think the attention is remarkable; there is plenty of staff to meet her needs. She is interested in BINGO and she's busy and active all the time.

Wonderful views,nice size rooms, & every room has a sliding glass door to an outside balcony. Views of Garden of Gods or Cheyenne Mtn. Prices are a little higher but many things included. Beautiful bird sanctuary inside. Like the pricing structure for 'extras'. Security gate closes at dark, but can access with code.

This place looks amazing! It looks like Tara from Gone With the Wind from the outside! We have one relative here, and were considering it for our more recent search for another loved one. Unfortunately they did not have availability for a private room at the time we were looking. Also, this is a larger community and we were interested in something smaller and more personal for the loved one we were searching for.

We've had a great experience so far at this community. It's a smaller place, and I feel like my loved one is getting a lot of individual attention, and they are really getting to know him. They're very hands on, and actively work with the residents to try and figure out activities that will get them out of their shells. The staff are very friendly and treat the residents with respect. One thing they could work on it being a bit more flexible with transportation for doctors appointments.

So far this is our pick. Don't like the community fee and the most expensive. Loved the courtyard and easy access for residents. Feel staff knowledgable in care for dementia people. Loved the magnets on fire doors .

Among top two choices. Will revisit with M.

Sterling House came recommended to me from both professional and personal sources, and I was very pleased with their service. The care was very good, and the staff were great about letting me know as Mom's needs increased how best to incorporate that into their different tiers of care. Misty Ackerman in particular was great, and always helpful.

We're very happy with this community! It's very clean and well maintained. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and always available. They have a wide variety of activities as well, more than Mom can use! One thing that I think is really exceptional about this facility is their connection to the surrounding community, in a variety of ways. They open their facility to all sorts of community group and clubs, who provide even more activities and events for the residents to attend. They're also centrally located, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

We are very pleased. I've eaten there a couple of times and I would say it was about a 4. My brother is there more than I am but he was very pleased with everything. We have other Emeritus communities around here and I have heard good things from those too, so I think it's a pretty good organization.

It has been such a blessing to us. Everyone is so kind and helpful and treats my mom like family. She loves Brookdale Place at Valencia and loves everyone there. She is doing well. She has had physical and occupational therapy and she's now both walking and eating really well. She is being very well taken care of.

Because my mother has only lived at Brookdale a little over a month, I don't feel qualified to submit a full or final review; this abbreviated review is based on my experience so far. I have been pleased with the services and facility up until now. The staff is cooperative and concerned. My mother feels comfortable and secure despite lamenting not being able to live with her own family members. The food is more than adequate, and the activities are abundant.

We were very pleased with the care here. The building itself was a little old, but they did a good job with the upkeep and making it look nice. They had all sorts of activities, physical therapy, and brain training to keep them active, although Mom did not participate much. They were very attentive here, and knew how to deal with Mom's specific needs. The day she got here they took her off all the medications she had been on in her previous location, and within a few days she was up and active again. They focused more on care than medication.

We are pleased with the facility. Everyone is very kind, helpful and eager to assist whatever needs we present to them.

They are amazing. They do activities during the day, and then they have outings, unfortunately she doesn't participate but they do things like go to the Tigers games. They always have a lot of people with them watching them. They're very, very, very attentive to the residents. Very, very attentive. They are really good. It is wonderful. When she got there she was on so many meds and they took her off of a lot of them because she didn't need to be on so many. Quite wonderful - and the food is amazing.

They were wonderful, I thought. The staff was friendly, they were helpful in getting him set up. I was pretty impressed, it was good clean, quiet. I never saw anything going on when I was there, perhaps there was something going on in other wings but I never saw anyone in the main common room, but since I am not really sure about the activities (we didn't really use them) I will leave the rating as the same as my overall experience. He never complained about the food. It just looked like a really pleasant place to live and was divided into separate living areas so this felt more like a home, in each wing they have 10-12 people and separate dining rooms and even their own kitchen areas.

It's been wonderful! Erica from A Place For Mom was the one who suggested Emeritus, we were on a budget and she let me know that they would work with me. They have been very flexible, and so nice they helped us get mom and dad down here, which was hard enough as it was. The food is good, I have tried it, in my opinion it would be a five. For the most part it's healthy. I don't see anywhere they could improve. I appreciate A Place For Mom, it's moral support, everyone has been so wonderful.

The facility and personell was responsive. Their activity calendar was more full than other assisted living facilities, and we noticed more action from the residents and they were out in the common areas. Breakfast was the best meal of the day, the food is institutional, I think that all of them even schools are using more prepackaged and precooked foods. Overall the experience was really good, the director and the staff were very open with getting her enrolled, they were up front with us. They spent a lot of extra effort and time figuring out a deal with us. The facility was not over-decorated, We went to one that was way over-decorated. The open room where people could go in and play games was something we really liked, and they had a very good library and you can check out books. They were very accommodating in getting my mom in, for example, the bathroom door was too small to allow for her chair and they took out the doorframe and extended the width of the door and put in a new frame. We were told that they had planned on doing that anyway, but having her there seemed to force their hand to get it going.
