Brookdale

My loved one, was there a short time period of time. The collaboration with hospice was wonderful. They took wonderful care of my loved one.

I thought Brookdale Carriage Club was great - I was very pleased with them. They’ve been around a long time and really have their act together. I liked that they have different phases as a person gets older and needs more medical assistance. So if my loved one needed to move from independent living to assisted living or memory care, she could stay in the same community. Brookdale was our second choice, only because we preferred another location that was more convenient for our family to visit more often.

I do not have anything bad to say about Brookdale Staunton, they were great! My aunt got in touch with them and the staff was very responsive to her needs. They scheduled an interview right away and did not drag their feet. My loved one had a single room and it fit his needs perfectly. He loved all of the activities that they had provided here. Our family would definitely recommend Brookdale to others.

I recently had the opportunity of visiting the Brookdale Mt Vernon Drive community and I can not say enough good about what I observed while I was there! The environment is very warm, friendly, safe, and inviting. The facility smells and looks clean as well. And I have to mention how sensational the dinner that was cooking made the building smell! The staff members were informative and answered all of my questions with confidence and pride in their community. A quality that shows me how much the residents are valued and cared for. I even witnessed a Caregiver telling a resident that she loves her. What a beautiful way to assist the residents during this chapter of their lives. I highly recommend Brookdale Mt Vernon Drive for any Alzheimer's and Dementia care resident and family.

We had a great tour experience with Brookdale Rock Springs. The facility was absolutely beautiful. The staff were all wonderful and they really took their time with us and answered any questions we had. We just felt that the layout and the facility was not secure enough for our personal loved ones situation. It was a bit pricey as well but it seemed like a great facility to have a loved one at.

We decided on Brookdale Kingsport because of the friendliness of the staff and they were very supportive - they had a more proactive approach when they visited my family member in the skilled nursing facility. They have been extremely responsive and great with communication as well. They are also very accommodating and are able to adjust how they do things based on your loved ones needs. I would absolutely recommend them to others looking.

One concern, is the cleanliness in my loved ones room. The floors could be mopped and swept more often. It's a great group of people. The activities staff is phenomenal. Compared to other places, across the market, it's very reasonable, and we get more for our money. They have been wonderful, working with my loved one. They are warm and helpful, and go out of their way, to treat the residents well. I feel comfortable with, the care that my loved one is receiving. They are in good hands.

Our loved one really enjoys the meals and dining and likes going out for the day trips. We would recommend.

Professional and caring staff

The staff are great. My mother loved it there. They took wonderful care of her. The activities were awesome. The food was smelled so tasty. The building was very clean and smelled pleasant.

We had a wonderful tour experience with Brookdale Corona. The facility was great and the staff were so helpful and we really appreciated them. They were thorough and were able to answer any questions we had. I just felt that the activities at another facility we were looking at were better suited for my loved one. It was not the right fit for us, but seemed to be a great place.

We love the smallness of the community and we could not of asked for a better place for our loved one. The friendliness of the staff gets higher then 5 stars they are absolutely wonderful we cannot speak highly enough about them. Our loved one seems to really enjoy the meals and dining service and since they do not participate in activities we aren't really sure what all they have. We would definitely recommend the Brookdale WIlton community to other families.

We picked Brookdale Spruce Wood because of the feel of the facility when you walk in. It is bright, has wide hallways, and no institutional. It does not feel like you are in a hospital, it much closer to being like an apartment building. The only downside is because of the cost we had to get a studio instead of a one bedroom apartment. Another positive is the way they serve their food. They have all day food options so you can go down there at anytime and that is a big plus. I would highly recommend this facility.

Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch provide an ease while moving him in. It's a hard thing to do with a parent and quite often parents don't want to be "put away". Never once was my dad led to feel that way. It's a small facility and it feels like a home. His words to me after a week or two were, "I love it here. This is where I'm supposed to be". My mom passed few years ago and my dad lived alone in a retirement community. He was okay there, but he was kind of just existing. For the first time since she's been gone, my dad has made new friends. There's a group of gentleman that he's friends with. I went to visit and it was time for dinner, they came to check on him and he had to leave. I thought to myself, how fantastic! That is more than I could have hoped for. At the retirement community he had a few falls, so he had to go to the hospital and moved to Brookdale directly from there. It was a hard thing for him as he left everything, but he said he has not met one person who isn't wonderful here. Brookdale is a great little gem I wouldn't have found if it wasn't for A Place for Mom. It's also right around the corner from where he used to live. I'm obviously a fan. He's been there a while and we have been able to go through different things. They've had a lot of changes in their staff, but the new staff are just as great. They really do a great job.

Prior to coming to Brookdale Reno, my husband was at a different facility, which we were very unhappy with. Though Brookdale was expensive, as they all are, I feel like with the more expensive places, you get more for your money. When we got to Brookdale, they suggested hospice, which was very helpful. For other families with a loved one with dementia-related behavioral problems, I highly suggest trying hospice before trying behavioral health hospitalization - which the previous facility recommended to us, much to my husband's detriment. We had such a different experience with Brookdale. It was a much homier environment. Everybody there was very friendly and much better trained than at the previous facility. They were concerned about his wellbeing and tried their hardest with him. I wish we had tried them in the first place.

My sister and I both agree we couldn't have picked a better place for dad. I like that they have dining choices, dad is happy with that. He does say that sometimes he's not happy with the substitutions, for example biscuits vs toast. But he likes the food! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You definitely get the sense that they genuinely care. The facility is older, but they keep it clean. The dining room is always clean. They do have several activities, but we can't get dad to participate in them. However, he is very happy here! I would definitely recommend them!

They made things very easy during the whole move in process. The staff are all very friendly and the facility is clean. They have a lot of great activities provided for the residents, but my mom does not participate much - I am trying to get them to come and get her for them. For my mom the portion sizes on the meals are good and the variety on the menu is great. I would recommend Brookdale Sunwest to others, I have a lot of friends who have family members here as well.

The person I reached out to about the community, they went above and beyond with information and was able to answer all of the questions we had. One part that was confusing was the concierge service, and orientation wording. This was the same thing that they provide the residents; however, it is called two different things by the community and the company that provides the orientation to the residents. Overall it has been an okay experience for us. There has been a learning curve with the terminology used by the community for my loved ones and family.
