I got the impression that money was their top concern because the agent asked for $[fee removed] before starting care. She was also offended by my husband when he accidentally removed his sheet.. He had dementia.

Totally unprofessional, broke several things in home that. They refuse to pay for, even though they required a hefty security deposit up front that we had to wait months to get back , not even the full amount, i was dropped by one of the ladies and had to call the rescue squad, they put you on schedule with anobody.And and none of them are trained or have any training, and that came from the caretakers themselves if that's what you want to call them, then one of the girls told me that they tried to get her to write a false statement in order for us not to get our security deposit back and lie on the statement the girl refused and quit. Then I was told in training that the instructor was on hard drugs and she even told them when hired that its okay if you get high just dont do it in their homes and went as far as to say she likes her a "toot" from time to time. The girls they send are so careless its hazardous and its because they aren't getting paid their full check they told me

My Mom was 94 years old. She never had a thing in common with the very young, uncaring woman they sent. Each one (they were continually different) , did nothing but the bare minimum. They mostly sat on the sofa and listened to their music or watched TV. It was a very disappointing experience. I would never use this organization again or recommend them to anyone.

I had made three different appointments with Arcadia but no one showed up. If you are going to be a a no show why be in business. When I first spoke with them they gave me all these questions to ask the companies on how they were going to treat my mother. The lady was very knowledgeable. I thought if they were this helpful on what to ask as a customer, then why not just hire them. So I told the lady you have the job, let’s set an appointment up for you to come and hang out with my mom. They were a no show! So I rescheduled and they were a no show again. I thought what is the point of scheduling an appointment!

We hired this service to keep my mom company over the 4th of July Holiday. We had several issues, and although the manager attempted to do so, were not rectified to our satisfaction. The first issue was that the medications were not given as directed. Second was that we observed (on camera) the first of 2 providers spending more time on the cell phone than working. Third, I asked for a follow up call that was not returned. I would not recommend this service.

Please be very careful with this agency! In my case, the promises made at time of signing-up were NOT kept! Example: the charging of my credit card vs accepting a check for payment. The company( Visiting Angels) charged my credit card when they initially agreed to accept my check as payment. The use of my credit card resulted in higher cost for me. Interview the caregiver! Give and get a clear understanding of expectations for time caregiver is in your home and with you. In my case, time with the client is the client’s time, not time for the caregiver to be texting or listening to music! Give clear instructions and list your expectations. Ask questions! In my case, age, cultural and religious differences resulted in unpleasant prejudicial attitudes toward me. Bad choices by caregiver included throwing away $[removed] worth of unopened, canned dog food, leaving $[removed]+ worth of refrigerated groceries in her hot car while she performed her personal errands! I do not recommend this agency.

This agency is not very reliable. The caregiver my mother in law had was on her phone a lot, she did not bring her own food and would take food off my mother in laws plate. She took breaks to watch TV shows when she was only scheduled for four hours. We were not happy with this agency at all.

The person who signed us up was very nice. The problem we encountered was that there was no consistency in caregivers sent to us so i had to keep taking time off from work to orient new caregivers on the house and my moms routine. Then the last person we had did not follow our strict instructions regarding our dogs not being allowed out and i knew this because I had paid a RN friend of mine to also be on site and she told me the caregiver completely disregarded what she was told.

I wouldn't recommend this Agency! Caregivers were not appropriately trained, they complained about the support they provided which was very minimal. They slept while on duty, left client laying in urinated clothing/sheets. They were constantly late or no shows. Every week I had to call into the office because care that I was paying for was not done. I had to constantly adjust billing hours because they were incorrect. Dealing with Senior Helpers was one of the worst experiences in my life. They were horrible!!

Office is disorganized and difficult to reach. Frequently, they had no one available. Most of the people who came just sat looking at their phones. We offered to pay more, but they claimed that was not the issue. They had one person who was good, but she could only work on Wednesdays one month because of her classes, later none at all because of her classes. Not impressed. Save yourself time and effort. No need to use.

We only needed temporary but we had to put a 2 week deposit. They sent someone that could not take vituals. I called them immediately and said she cannot do what we asked for I would like to nullify our contract. They said they would talk to the director and call me back. I sent the aide home after the 15-30 minutes of figuring all this out. Nobody bothered to call me back. So for 2 weeks probably like 10 times I called. They completely avoided my phone calls with no communication. Finally someone answered. They told me that I never said anything about vituals. I told them we absolutely did and that they had already told me they won’t nullify the contract, which they never did. The intake nurse said I never said anything about vituals. The Director said she would review the phone calls. She called the next day and apologized. We were treated terribly. It like they were taking advantage of my Father. They said we lied. It caused my Father so much stress. Absolutely terrible!

Told we would have the same 2, maybe 3 caregivers. Each caregiver would train the other. Constantly had different caregiver and they didn’t know my mom’s routine. One caregiver, halfway thru her shift said she completed all task , but left that evening without doing them. This months bill I was over charged $[removed]. Sent several emails and left messages for them to call me for a verbal discussion. No one has done that. They sent an email this morning and I responded I did not agree with their calculations and left a voicemail to call me and no response.

I was in a Desperate situation and needed help until we figured things out We called a couple of places and left messages “Right at home called us back, the lady who came to sign us up was very nice and we felt good about the decision. The first young lady was 2 hrs late, she was sweet but this wasn’t a good first impression (don’t think it was her fault?) 2nd lady was about 1 1/2 hrs late, she came in laid down on the couch to take a nap, I called my sister who lives 2 hrs away to come and stay and sent the lady home. then I called and canceled service but the next day another lady showed up. I’m not sure what happened, but my case was handled terribly. I can see one mistake or mishap but this was ridiculous. They said they do back ground checks but I had safety concerns with the Second Lady. The others ladies were nice. I’m not sure what happened but when someone is in need of help & they put their trust in you, treat them like you would like to be treated.

I was supposed to have a caregiver at my house when I brought my husband home. Because of traffic we were late and the caregiver rang the bell and left. Monday I was supposed to have a caregiver come and help me take my husband to the doctor. She didn’t show up. I called. She finally came but it was too late to go to the doctors. She was waiting for the agency to call her. I had a car accident on my way home from taking my husband back to his facility. My fault.

[name removed] was very rude won't return calls and even hung up on me when I called her out on something. She is allowing a certain "caretaker" to turn in hours and get paid to do absolutely nothing for this client I know for a fact she's been getting paid [fee removed] a month for doing nothing some times she wasn't even at her clients home and when she is she does nothing for her. It's sad and too hard to watch these people take advantage of a program that is meant to be a positive thing for our elderly

Whether they carry through with what they say. We gave the agency a list of duties for the caregiver to perform, and none of them carried them out. Also caregivers arrived late or cancelled. They also sent an 18 year-old girl with no prior experiences who just sat and ate ramen in front of my elderly parents.

When the employee is asked to do something a certain way for them to do it. My mother is fluent in Spanish and told the worker to vacuum instead she wanted to sweep

Golden Years was NOT A FIT for me. Most of the "caregivers": 1. were not "Trained" caregivers (one came and sat in my living room the entire time--playing on his phone. 2. Could not Cook simple dishes. 3. Did not arrive or leave according to their schedule--some never showed up at all. The Company seems to be trying, but having a difficult time finding qualified "caregivers."

One caregiver, seemed genuine the other one wasn't so that dependable. Just always best to have family if possible but I know that's not always an option hard to trust other people

This company should NOT be on this earth! My ex -husband had these people working for him on 11 hour shifts! They would show up at his house and do absolutely NOTHING for him! What if he had a seizure?? They would sit in their car for 11 hours and they started stealing brand new 20 dollar bills they found in a bedroom that they rummage thru and was totally off limits to this awful staff! He should be paid back what THEY STOLE from him! His bank account was closed with no money to eat etc! This so called unprofessional staff should be behind bars!
