Working with Home Care Assistance was not a good experience at all. i would never recommend anyone use their services. This agency has no clue as to who these people are that they hire. The lady that my Mom had just decided to quit without warning. There was no communication. I also feel you have to be equipped to deal with a dementia patient and this was not a good fit. I would never use their services again! My Mom is now happy with her current situation which makes me happy!

A bit disorganized but they try hard and mean well. I would recommend them to anyone seeking to contract home health aides.

We have been using Incredicare since May 2014. My husband loved his caregiver, as did I. The last few months, though, things have changed dramatically. Without even contacting me, the admin staff pulled our caregiver for another `important' client and left us with no one. I called and left numerous messages when the caregiver didn't show up as scheduled. My calls were not returned and, when I finally got someone to answer the phone, I got numerous excuses and then promises to reinstate the care - which then didn't happen, either. I've read the other comments here and yes, the bills are easy to read and the caregivers connect with their clients but, when dealing with care providers, reliability and communication are critical and, unfortunately, Incredicare has failed in those areas. In the past I have recommended Incredicare to other people seeking care. I regret that now and would never do it again.

We can't seem to find people who are available when they say they will be. We can't get a consistent caregiver, it's different people a lot of the time. Sometimes they will call last minute and tell me they will be late. We chose them because they were enthusiastic, and they said they would be flexible, and able to do what we needed. So far they have not been dependable and have not delivered. They all seem to be friendly and well meaning.

She didn't come today and I didn't know. A little upset now.

Overall we have not been real satisfied with the caregivers we have had. We had a good one for 3 weeks one day a week but she quit and we were not given a heads up. The case manager was supposed to meet the new one they were sending the next week and forgot she had told her she would meet her here. Caregivers should have better training or at least hire someone who has some social skills. They certainly are underpaid which accounts for the caliber of people they can hire. We are pretty much dependent on extra outside help. We may reach out to find out about another service! I realize this is a service in high demand and nobody wants to do it!!!

They seem to have trouble with staffing. Training seems lacking. We have had a few workers that were great, but, overall training is lacking related to psychology of the aged. I’m trying to give time to see improvement

So far, they have about a 50/50 chance of keeping their appointment. They canceled last minute on my folks a lot in their 3 weeks of "service". Good luck

Owner and coordinator were great! Not impressed with CNAs though. Too much to write.

We live in Newport, PA. They seemed to have a hard time staffing people for our area. We employed their services for 2 weeks, 3 days a week. We have two days with no shows and never had the same person more than one time. When we canceled services they agreed to refund our deposit. One month later that check has not yet arrived.

While everyone at Senior Helpers of Lancaster was very nice, I feel let down and disappointed. They took my mother on as a client and I don’t feel they were completely staffed enough to do so. I paid 2 week deposit of over $[removed]. First shift a tiny, crying 20 year old shows up to help my obese mother. Family had to be there to help tiny helper with mother. Within first 4 days they were unable to staff two of their shifts. While I am aware this can occasionally happen- I did not expect issues right from the start. I had no option but to find other help for my mother. I am now out $[removed]! Or I can look at it as paying $[removed] for 12 hours of coverage. Beware before you sign that there will be skipped shifts with the promise they will ‘do their best’ to cover..??

The care givers I've had assist me have said they are allowed to sit while they are assigned to me. They sit and do much of nothing for almost their entire time assigned! For a 3 hour shift, they usually only work 1-.5 hours their entire 3 hour shift. I really feel I would benefit from a different agency.

I would not recommend First Light Home Care for a few reasons: 1. The owner refers to herself as "doctor," but is not a medical professional. We found this to be misleading. 2. The owner's daughter was highly unprofessional when introducing new caretakers, speaking ill of her staff and patients. We, therefore, did not feel comfortable to go to her with concerns/questions. 3. The caretakers varied considerably in their capacity to care for my very sick father. All three were kind, but were very timid and unsure of what to do, such as when asked to transfer my dad to the bedside commode or change his sheets. They looked to us as his family members to tell them how to do their job or asked us to direct or provide assistance. They did not seem to be properly trained to care for hospice patients. They seemed more suited to work with people who simply needed some company. One of the caretakers spoke about their own personal issues, including a child's recent jail sentence and family drama.

The woman who coordinated setting up the caregiver was very responsive. Unfortunately, there were problems with the caregiver. I was very clear on what duties/responsbilities were expected when I initially spoke with the coordinator, but the caregiver had definite things she would NOT do, including making my mom do some of her own sponge bathing. She would also only clean a very few things in the house. When my parents decided they no longer needed help, the caregiver came that day after having just found out, and was very angry and mean to my mom. She ended up leaving early that day. Really unacceptable behavior.

Unfortunately we were unable to utilize Senior Helpers except for the first day. On that day my mother in law was admitted into the hospital with an illness and then back to rehabilitation, and from there to an assisted living facility. We had paid in advance for a week of service which we never used. They didn't refund our advanced payment.

No one showed up 2 out of 7 days to help my husband and walk our dog. A couple of days they didn’t stay as long as was expected. I was very disappointed. My husband did not do well. I was refunded the hours no one was here.

Over 45 to 60 days, with caregivers visiting only three times a week, my mother was attended to by more than 12 to 14 different caregivers. Of these, roughly three provided outstanding service and met all responsibilities. Although I lacked access to their official checklists or portal, I developed my own to ensure all tasks were completed. Unfortunately, some caregivers showed a lack of diligence, which hurt the company's reputation since their poor performance reflected on the entire staff. As a result, I would not use this company's services again and cannot recommend it.

Out of the five people sent to take care of my parents, one did an excellent job. Two sat on the couch and looked at their phones all day while I did the work and were not very friendly. The last two did ok but room for improvement. We ended up parting ways after three weeks.

Would never use them again!!! What they could improve on would be Communication, reliability, value for cost!!

The reliability was awful with no communication from the company if a caregiver was not coming or the shift needed to start later . Out of 4 visits we had scheduled with them ,2 visits were a no show . I had to contact the office to find out what was going on . The caregivers were okay but did not follow the care instructions we provided at intake or when I left full instructions for them at the beginning of each shift . We have terminated our services with this company after one week of care.
