Need to keep an eye on them had things broken and not mentioned talked on their cell phone and not checked on my wife during their time. I would not recommend their services to others looking.

They never really performed the tasks I requested such as organizing mail or prepping meals. I never got the sense that they warmed up to my mom. Tasks involving doctor visits were not productive as I hoped. Didn’t get reports describing how visits went.

The initial conversation was very positive and we felt that they understood our needs and was able to help us. Even the step where the nurse who came to do a house call to set up scheduling. The frustrating part was that the said they would be able to help with the hours that we need but then turned around and said we need a minimum amount of time which was more than Initially discussed. The paperwork they gave said one thing about the hours and then the phone call from the office of who schedules said that this is their policy and they cannot provide services with the hours we need. We spent time and phone calls getting this set up and waiting to then having to start over.

Very disorganized. Scheduling was a mess. They say their workers are trained to deal with Alzheimer’s patients but they were not. We decided to cancel our service with them and went with another company.

One of the staff my wife had refused to do some easy chores

The managers were friendly and helpful. Only one of the multiple people that were at my dad's house was acceptable. Miss [name removed]. The others were woefully inadequate. Including one that slept more at of the time she was there. I'll never recommend home instead or use them again. I would not recommend Home Instead. The caretakers changed with almost every shift after the first week or so. Also we needed about 10 hours a week of help and 15 was the minimum hours. At least half of the cost to us did not go to the caretakers.

Initial call was nice, met a new lady 1st week seemed ok, got my 1st bill following week it was, $[removed] more than expected. An extra hr. was put on 2 different days, evidently the lady who cared for mom added extra hrs for which she was not here for. Even though they credited the 2 hrs. I felt they were calling me a liar, cause the lady was so nice, I call her a wolf in lamb's clothes. I would NOT USE THEM AGAIN EVER. I am not a liar. She tried to cheat me out of 2 hrs.

Different person each time and sometimes that person was tired. No interaction or very little with loved one Switched to cornerstone care giving They were on time and showed up That is all I have to say.

There is no consistency with providers. They seem to be sending very new Aids with little experience. I got charged because my husband was taken by ambulance to the hospital. But Monday they informed me the caretaker was not coming due to a communication issue. One provider spoke no English at all so was unable to communicate with my husband. They need more experienced staff.

I like most of the caregivers. I had a couple incidents where they blocked my sewer up by flushing wipes down the toilet and another broke my garbage disposal. Neither of these were compensated. They can’t seem to have enough people working to cover when you need them.

Could never get ahold of them that is all.

[name removed]in Shawnee was a Fantastic caregiver. She was so kind and so helpful and really helped my mom accept her need for assistance while living alone. She has almost 20 years of experience and was just a God-send to our family. Unfortunately, we knew we were moving and even after giving a 3 week notice that we were needing a new caregiver in Edmond, the loss of their scheduler during our transition, really challenged them in finding a staff member for my mom. We had to go with a different agency. They were very kind and tried to be accommodating but the timing was just bad. Pros were that they made signing up, billing, and long term care insurance filing a breeze. So different than when I had to do everything when my dad utilized his long term care policy 10 years ago. That took such a burden off of me and my sister this time around. I would recommend them once they get their transitional staffing up and running again.

I don't believe our bad experience was totally their fault but mainly their workers. One couldn't come back because of child care issues & one just ghosted us and the agency after coming once. They sent another person to interview & she brought her sister with her. Unprofessional. I think they just need to work on their quality of staff they hire.

After the first interview it took over a month to have services start. We have a young daughter at home so we needed someone with child clearances. We were told that several different people would be out so to find the best fit The first girl was great as was the second. On day three, yes day three, the second girl called off. Another lady was sent out Needless to say our dog did not like her. She came a second time and we had an issue with the dog. On day 5 another call off stating that she would not be back and no one else was being sent. We weren't told that she was going to be the permanent person. This was due to her living so close to us. We didn't even get a chance to state our opinion. Then we were told that due to the dog and staffing we could suspend service or end the contract. We chose to end the contract. Now we are back to square one needing help. This whole experience has left us not wanting to deal with an agency ever again.

They said before I got them they had several male caregivers but ended up that they don’t have one for me. When I asked several times about it they said they were working on it. They they messed up my times and took several weeks to finally get it fixed after each call about it they said they were fixing it but did not. So now I don’t believe anything they say until I see it

Upon my intake the driver to me from Hueytown to UAB Highlands, she took the wrong route and I was charged $[fee removed] for that trip and a few hours with me at the emergency room! Although I was hospitalized I don't think I would have continued with the service.

Different caregivers were sent every shift with no continuity. Caregivers for the most part did not have experience with patients with dementia. I would not recommend the agency for part time care. Thank you.

Home Instead sent several caregivers who told us they had no experience with memory care. Some had experience with Intellectual Disability homes but memory care is very different.

The care giver always on time, however, you can only speak to the caregiver through staff/supervisor and they were horrible about communication. They were flexible for a meeting spot when first starting care. But she had to switch several times. That was hard to do long distance and get mom mentally prepared. They called 3 days AFTER mom turned down care to let us know they didn't show up. They were super friendly and kind. Long story short. Caregivers are great, but the administration is a nightmare, and they were incredibly understaffed. They also gave us somebody who couldn't drive. We had a nice car for them to drive, so we had no way for shopping, doctors appointments etc. We canceled the service before our time was up, that was already paid for because of the communication problem.

Starting care was easy, staff were kind, sometimes I felt they were not motivated to engage with my Dad. They could improve patient engagement and spend less time on cell phones.
