The CNA appeared then disappeared and never came back while I was leaving rehab center to home. The administration staff lack good leadership skills. Staff sent to home talked very bad about company and staff. The shocking conversation regarding wages, benefits, client referrals, not paying for gas and confusing work schedule. The staff has attitude. Didn't want to work very lazy. Sat and watched TV during working hours. Client cost way too expensive yet give no benefits, raises increased hourly rate to staff. Paying staff [price removed] hour can't feed family. Slave wages. Taking advantage. Pay more hourly [price remvoed] based on experience will get you quality trained people

They were terrible. They didn't show up on day 3, my loved one was without care for 24 hours.

Overall experience was good at first but then there was a lot of employee turnover. Reliability was good at first and because of employee turnover it was always a guess which caregiver was coming. Ease of starting care - Just had to fill out basic paperwork and give them your banking information. There was a lot of paperwork but that is to be expected. Communication and response was good for when they had a problem with a caregiver showing up but when it came to a billing question or getting copies of what you were being billed for that took a long time to get someone to contact you. Friendliness. The caregivers and the people in the office were very friendly when you talked to them in person. Quality of care should have been a 4. The caregivers that came to the house were very professional and helpful. Because of the turnover the caregivers were different ones a lot of the time. Value. They were more expensive than other companies and they did not supply a superior service If you have a billing problem and they owe you money it could take a while to receive your check.

Terrible policy on canceling or making changes that doesn't work in a health care environment when things are very unpredictable. The owner would not work us with at all and made an already stressful situation much much worse.

Too much communication. Quality of care seems good as far as I know, I am paying for service for someone who is living in another state. I think it is too expensive, too high of a minimum of hours per visit.

I'm making a fair comment bc they did show up when needed but often late, friendly people but some were too nosy and some were actually good. The cost was extremely high for the services. Some days I couldn't rely bc they couldn't fill positions when someone couldn't make their shift. Quality of care was appropriate and average but not over the top for the price.

We tried to use them but they wouldn't do anything without a four hour minimum. To rich for us.

Very few people to care for my husband had experience! I was training the staff. The turnover seems to be very high. Communication was very poor! They were the only agency that did not send a sympathy card after my husband passed away! Very disappointing! They had 2 to 3 really exceptional employees. And from what I understand is that they only stayed with them because of [name removed]

Minimum hour requirements were too high. The girl would spend an hour on a bed bath, then fill the other 3 hours talking about alternate universes and her own tragic past....Two 4-hour shifts per week cost more than our mortgage payment!!!

We had staffing issues, people not showing up, or not working while on shift. We had a couple of good care givers but they ended up leaving Care Advantage

Day 1 we had a lady names [name removed]. She was a 5. The next day was a 2. Lady slept the entire time. Hard to wake up. Last day a 0 or minus 5. I fired her at midnight got a refund for that night. She left the house without telling us. She thought we were asleep and left the front door wide open so we wouldn't hear her come in.

Avoid it! Too many patients to Nurse, etc. ratio. It was a horrible place. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to go there.

Overall experience: Most of the caregivers we had were not really trained well. Basically, spent the day as a sitter. Many didn't do much cooking - mostly the same foods over and over again. They didn't seem to really engage with the client and provide stimulation. Most had accents and communication was difficult for my mother. Much time was spent browsing their cell phones. They did not provide "report" to the new caregiver coming on duty, sometimes they didn't even overlap - we were left with no one for some time. Admin staff was always made aware of this, and they provided many apologies but it happened many times. Luckily, we had family around - not sure what would happen if the client was alone. Friendliness: All caregivers were very friendly. We did experience one bad one who coerced my family in to picking her up Jamaican food because she didn't feel like cooking. Quality of Care: Please see above. Not much care was provided. Bathing/showering was rare (could have been due to the client refusing.). My mother was pretty self sufficient most of the time and preferred to do it herself. Administrative staff: They always listened to my complaints but not much changed to correct issues. They did try to accommodate us when we had issues with returning caregivers. I few weeks we didn't have anyone to cover their vacations, so family stayed home to cover. Value for the money: Not sure how to answer this one. As I said, the caregivers basically provided sitter duties. Monthly cost = approx $[fee removed]k. We used 24/7 care - I believe Civility is one of the few that provided that coverage. We utilized their services for approx. 15 months. In one particularly bad instance, an assigned caregiver was returning for another shift but she was unable to make it so she had her sister come and pretend to be her. Luckily, I recognized she was a stranger at the door. Not even an employee of Civility! Again, Administrative staff was very apologetic. This could have been a very bad situation for them.

I have two wonderful caregivers. The company itself cannot keep its schedule straight and their billing is a nightmare. They do automatic withdrawals on my bank account and got 10 weeks behind with my LTC insurance. They make a lot of excuses, which had me confused for a while. Finally have come to the conclusion that they just don’t know what they’re doing and blame it on others I want to fire them, but I’m waiting for my caregiver to receive certification as independent caregiver. She is wonderful! The questions below primarily address the quality of the Caregiver, not the terrible unorganized office.

My husband said they came in feed him then sat down on the couch and played on there phone. Didn't engage or visit with him at all. No one showed up for dinner on the last day. I didn't get home until late and he was still hungry and you still charged me for a visit. When the bill came it was 1andhalf times what I was quoted. Then the worst is I'm finding things missing. Nothing to serious by still. What I've found missing so far is a full unopened box of dryer sheets and several electric timers. Needless to say I won't be using you for care again and wont be giving any positive recommendations to other about you.

We used this company to provide in home housekeeping and light care. Weren't the best in employees they sent in terms of following our directions and arriving as scheduled.

Only one, ([name removed]) of the three staff members we had, seemed to have any care experience. The other two were nice, but they were lacking in knowledge of medical and physical care.

One of the caregivers was wonderful. Her excellence can't good enough to offset the inadequacy of others, including one that slept most of her time and ate my parents food. The expense is excessive considering what the caregivers are paid. In our case, 3-5 hour day, was more than was needed. Especially since only one of the caregivers actually did anything. I would not reconnect Home Instead to anyone unless they were absolutely desperate and had plenty of money.

They had one great CNA, [name removed] otherwise it was inconsistent.

The owner was very helpful, but the lady they sent lost track of my dad and he left the house without her knowing-and their house isn't very big. It was disconcerting.
