The Director was very professional but seemed to want to push more services than I need right now. Decided not to use their services.

Spoke with the owner who was very willing to give information about their services - and the fact that they do an intensive background check on their employees and continue checking on the employees.

We have hired them for 3 -4 weeks - it is working out well.

Respite caregivers are on 12 hr shifts so overtime is added to basic rate. Holidays can be a problem even when scheduled several weeks in advance. Communication with office is weak and rather one-sided. There was no follow-up on their side. Must pre-pay entire amount as a "deposit", which is cashed after service rendered. Caregivers were not as client-friendly as some we have had; chose to ignore comments/complaints by client and do what they deemed best (e.g. Forcing client to stand straight despite being told she had a balance problem). Ability to pass information from day caregiver to night caregiver was questionable, and there seemed to be little effort made to read instructions we left. We asked for caregivers who spoke English, as client is very elderly and hard-of-hearing; request was noted but ignored for most part. Training and common sense was lacking in at least half the caregivers, which resulted in multiple problems. Not an agency we will use again for more than 24 hours at a time.

The caregiver that came out to the house was sweet, however she did not help with what we expected. She was supposed to help with minor household jobs and all she did was sit around and talk about herself. She did not seem to show respect to my mom. When we set up the service we did let them know what we were looking for but it seems they were not able to follow through on this.

Over a year ago I spoke to someone @ Aris and explained the situation and they never got back to me. Nothing. They sent an e-mail about contacting them after I again recently inquired about help through A Place For Mom. I cannot rate this company.

When I was using the services from this agency the caregivers were on time and ready to help me. However, they would send people who was not able to drive me to places. I felt I didn't have the right person and my accommodations were not met.

I understand its difficult to get good nursing labor, Training must include how to do the job with individual one on one and training at a customer site or hospital. I don't think they do that. A new person should not have been dispatched to my wife's care due to the difficulty and the young girl had to be replaced. I fear that they may have fired her for this small issue, I don't know for sure but I wish the attendant well, and comfort keepers a happy new year.

Working with Brightstar was full of ups and downs. They sent several different caregivers and overall I just wasn't happy with their services which is why we are no longer using them. Out of all the caregivers that we had there were three that we actually liked and they all ended up either leaving the agency or unable to work as a live in. I would not recommend them to anyone.

At first, Senior Helper caregivers were attentive to our mother. Some people were good and others were not. As time went on, many became lazy and did not perform the required very light housekeeping duties. The night shift aids from midnight to 9 a.m. were caught sleeping on the job on several occasions. Reprimands accomplished nothing. Day time help was usually better than night time help. Even though we were told that back up replacements were available if one of the aids became sick or had to leave for a family emergency, that was not the case. The aid showed up sick and cared for our mom, and we had to risk that whatever respiratory illness the aid had did not spread to our elderly parents.
