The agency has been okay so far. We've had a couple of bumps in the road but we've been able to overcome them so far. It hasn't been a year yet and I've already had three different caregivers through this agency. All of which were nice although one of the caregivers wasn't even certified. For that reason they get 3 starts from me.

If I had to rate this agency I don't know where I would start. Do I base the rating on the coordinators or the care? My experience with this particular agency was a bit of a mind blowing experience. The coordinator (Shelley) was awesome although the follow through did not reflect her diligence. One caregiver that was assigned had a car accident the day before providing services and never made it. The second caregiver they assigned was a no show. After that they were never able to find a replacement and never got back in touch with me. Communication is definitely key! Thank goodness A Place For Mom worked with me to help me find the best options for my Mom. On the other hand my husband's Grandmother receives services from Griswold and she loves her caregiver!

Overall, it was a pretty good experience. The only issue is that their continuity in care of individuals is not very good. They don't have consistency. It's a little disruptive.

Too expensive. The cost here would in one week be almost half if not more for full time care for 30 days.

Cost of care for 1 day per week outweighed benefits especially when not all services were preformed. The caregiver was very attentive.

Won't schedule interview with caregiver prior to first shift without charging us, even though personality issues are occasionally a problem. Say parents must try whomever they send over. Will have difficulty finding anyone for smokers or those with a pet. Short hours during traffic time not good for scheduling. Licensed, insured, bonded. Owner says there will no language barrier issues. Rates $19.50 for mom care; plus 25% for days care for Dad as well. Won't bill for couples' care if Dad does well with injection and doesn't need help. Deposit required if parents don't do auto-payment. Spoke with owner, Edwin Young.

The company itself is great. I love the owner, Howard, he has come out to the house himself to try fix the issues we are having. They are fairly reliable, but the caregivers have been late multiple times. There have been language barrier issues, and there have been respect issues. We have been trying to work it out. They have definitely worked with us to try to correct the issue. And the company is one I would work for myself.

My mom did not leave a lot of care, but the two people that they sent were there during lunch and did not bring their own lunch and it was a somewhat odd experience. I have no problem with them, as I know it is a hit or miss getting care givers to gel well with the ones they are caring for, but mom still gets along ok by herself most of the time so we are not presently using their services.

I used this service temporarily while my regular caregiver was unavailable, and honestly I just was not too impressed with them. The caregivers they sent were friendly enough, but seemed a little inexperienced. I also had a mix-up with the office staff regarding the billing. All that being said I appreciated that they were able to fill in for my regular caregiver, and I would use them again in the future if the need arises.

They were very reliable and consistent. They were very friendly. For the short time we used them we had a consistent caregiver. I was looking for something not so much for the care, but more someone to work with my loved one to challenge them in the memory world, some card games or things that would keep the parts of the brain that are still working, working for as long as possible. They had a program on their website called Senior Gems, and focuses on what is precious and unique, and focuses on what they are still able to do, provide meaningful activities. It states they will, foster supportive communication, and promote a positive environment, and provide meaningful activities. The last part, provide meaningful activities, is what I was looking for, and it seemed to me like they would work in a more therapeutic way. I feel like they did not promote meaningful activities. If I was looking for someone to go to the store, or help with general care, then they would be very good. When the gentleman came out and we discussed care needs, and the Senior Gem program, I don't think we were on the same page and he didn't know what the Senior Gem program was.

They were late a couple of days, there was one day that the caregiver didn't show up. I had to leave work, to go and take care of my loved one. We had mostly the same person, but they did send a replacement from time to time. They were all pretty friendly.

Was not very happy with. People who trained were then not available for the real needed hours. Were late, did not call, did not seem to want to do their job. One women was very good, replacement not very good at all.

I havn't been all that thrilled. There hasn't been a lot of consistency of caregivers. I have one main caregiver who is good, but the backups are not good, they are dumb, and there is a language barrier and my loved one has hearing aides making it even harder. I don't always get a call right away when they aren't able to show up. When I get a new person who I may have to call to have a back up I take the day off to train them. The office staff at Griswold has been wonderful but they don't seem to have great help.

Although we had a bit of trouble working with the office staff for Home Helpers, the caregivers we worked with were always very friendly and professional, and always on time. Initially the office staff told us they'd have someone available for the times we needed, but later said they'd actually have to recruit someone for those specific times, which was inconvenient.

We've had some issues initially, with some confusion about who they were sending. We had to go through a few people and are still working on finding the right one. She is very nice and a hard worker, but she needs a lot of instruction. She is very limited with how far she can drive. Most of the people they have sent have been a little unprofessional in the way they speak, their grammer. They will have the same person coming out, so there aren't different caregivers everytime. Are they going to be a companion or a caregiver. We need both roles to be filled. If the caregiver doesn't come they don't let us know until the day of, there is no advance notice. They offer to make it up the next week, they can't replace them the same day. It's not the caregivers themselves that call, it's the company. They are supposed to be trained to notice if anything is going on and things went unnoticed that could have been taken care of earlier. They are supposed to have a nurse come out once a month, and when I called about it, they said they would look into it, I never heard anything else about it. The nurse has only been out one time.

Currently using for in-home care.

One of the things that annoyed my mom was that she felt like she was being pressured to buy more and get more service. It's one of the reasons that she cancelled. They were pushy. I think that the gal that helped my mom was very nice and very upbeat but she was kind of naïve about basic stuff. We had to train her. We thought they were charging a lot for something where we had to train the caregiver. In the future, if we need a caregiver, I will probably try someone else. I did like the fact that Presidio responded immediately because I needed help right away. They did a walk through of the house to see how safe it was and I liked that. We've made some changes to the house to make it a safer place for my mom to live.

We have had issues with care givers showing up. It seems like communication is a big issue when it comes to Comfort Keepers. Sometimes the care giver is late and sometime they just don't show up. When we call and about where the care giver is they tell us they are trying to figure it out because sometime it's suppose to be one care giver and other times another. the care givers sometimes don't know its them that are suppose to be working on a certain day, so they get told late and then it takes them about two hours to get to us. For us to pay $24 and hour you would think they could have better communication. When they are there on time the care givers are actually great and really helpful.

Have been using them for 4+ weeks...there doesn't seem to be continuity with the caregivers.
