Brookdale

We chose Brookdale Altamonte Springs because of the cleanliness of the facility as well as the friendliness of the staff, they always acknowledge us. We looked at other places and this seemed like it was going to be the best fit. The room sizes here seem pretty nice. The only complaint I have about them is sometimes they do not get back to you right away when it comes to phone calls, but I do know that they are busy. Overall, I would recommend them to others looking.

I chose Brookdale because of the size of the rooms, the closet space, the view and the location is close to my daughter. The meals here are good quality. We are still under quarantine even though we have gotten our shots. I have the biggest, most beautiful room I have ever seen. I have a mountain and downtown Denver view. I would recommend to others looking.

Brookdale is better than other communities I've had experiences with. When our loved one needs assistance, generally they're there within a few minutes. If I have a concern, they're usually on top of it within a few hours. Other places might take days. Our loved one seems to like it here. We've had some miscommunications, I wish that had been better.

Our mother absolutely loved it there, and the staff members really did love her back. She was the happiest she had ever been, and had more friends then she ever did. We did sometimes have to constantly follow up with the care takers to keep giving her her over the counter medicine, but our goal was to make sure she felt like she was living her lift on a cruise ship and that is exactly how she felt.

The location is very good and the staff was very helpful, attentive, and helpful. The activities director is just wonderful. Communication is good between the staff and the families. They have monthly newsletters, zoom meetings, and covid updates. I would recommend this community to others

Everything is super, except the apartments are smaller since it is an older community. The rooms had balconies or patios available. The bedrooms are small. The decor needed to be updated overall. The food was very good on the tour.

The personnel was very well informed and I liked the rooms. The only drawback was the age of the facility.

We chose Brookdale Conway because the proximity from where we live, the al acart nature of some of the daily living add ons so it was not a one size fits all facility. The room sizes here are decent for what she needs. The only negative feedback would be the communication, with covid issues they have been proactive as far as communication to family. The only issue we have had is the lack of walking people through getting fully integrated into the community, we could not figure out who to contact for certain things. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

We chose Brookdale Beavercreek because of the convenient location and my wife really liked the virtual tour they did, the staff were very friendly and worked really well with us. I thought they did a pretty good job with communication, they do emails, newsletters, etc. She was here for a short period of time and we were not allowed in so it is hard to gauge, but I would recommend them. They were warm and caring staff members and my mom did not have any complaints.

My loved one is very happy there, and enjoys the staff and the facility. It's difficult to review because they're limited now due to Covid. But so far they've been very responsive, are following the guidelines for Covid restriction, and they keep us up to date on things.

The community overall is very clean but I would like to see the rooms cleaned more. Overall this community is the best around here. The staff is very sweet and does a wonderful job. I would recommend this community to others

Its a good, well maintained facility. My biggest concern with Brookdale is I don't think they handled Covid very well there. I think they're doing the best they can, but they made some decisions that were disruptive to new residents especially. Under normal circumstances, I think they're a 5/5. But some of their decision making from the top level could have been made differently. The whole point of having our loved one here was for security and stability, and our loved one was uprooted into another room without much communication, feeling scared and traumatized. Now that our loved is back in the original room, things are going more smoothly. The direct care staff are going out of their way and doing a great job.

The community is neat and clean. I have a balcony to enjoy, and there is plenty of storage. The communication is good and they stay on top of that. The activities have reopened with masks and social distancing. I would recommend this community to others

It is a good place. I don't like the way they handled the pandemic. Brookdale allowed some visitors and others were not able to see loved ones.

Everyone is very friendly and happy and smiling. Once they get activities going and Covid is over, I think it’s going to be very good. It's definitely been a struggle, but they've been really responsive to me. They clean the independent cottages once a week. They're good people, our only problem was with a resident ambassador who is kind of doom and gloom. But the facility did address the issue for us. The food looks pretty good, but my loved one says it’s too salty, and pretty heavy (not enough fresh options). We’re concerned that the ice cream contains aspartame. But they do have low-sodium, low-fat menu options (not sure my loved one remembers that, with memory issues. . .) Before Covid they used to take weekly trips to the store, drop people off at church, etc. Now she's just renting a place, having it cleaned and getting food. They did give us a considerable discount for the first year. Basically we’re just trying to wait it out until things get better after Covid.

My mom and I toured this facility today in our search for her new home. We met with [name removed] who was great! The facility is a bit dated but they have also had some damage from the recent storms so it is hard to tell much is due to the ongoing construction. My mom wants a place where there is a lot more social activity and I was pleased to see a lot of residents out walking the halls and meeting in the common areas (more than I've seen at other facilities). [name removed] mentioned that there are lots of residents that have been there for many years and we spoke to a resident who confirmed she didn't want to live anywhere else. The restaurant style dining room is scheduled to reopen next week which should be a huge step forward in the social engagement at the facility. We also liked the outdoor spaces. Seems like a great place and we are considering it.

From what we can see of the community it looks to be pretty clean, but we would recommend this community to others.

I would recommend this community to others. The community was open to feedback and was able to adjust to the care needed for my loved one.

I would tell others that you need to keep a close eye on your loved ones. They lost her hearing aids, they sent her to the hospital with only her lower dentures. They also were charging me for going up and down for meals when they were being delivered to the rooms, and I did not get any money back for that. That was also not in the original contract. At this point I would not recommend to others looking.
