Brookdale

It is a smaller community and I think they are very concerned about the residents well being here. The administrative staff is very good with communication and they are always responsive if we ever call with questions or concerns. They do have a lot of activities provided and they do a great job with that. We have had some issues with the cooking in the past with her unique diet, but they are coming around. Overall, I would recommend to others looking.

From our understanding the food was okay but not great. Our loved one did like participating in the exercise classes but eventually those were shut down due to covid. It was nice for us that it was a month to month setting and our loved one did not need to be there for a set period of time. It was only temporary and they were more then willing to work with us.

I toured this community before my sister moved there. I have been unable to visit for over a year because of COVI-19 and my own health issues but I do like Brookdale.

My loved one never actually moved in here. But we chose Brookdale at the time because it was recommended to us and I talked to a guy here who was very helpful and we thought it was going to be the right place for her to go at the time. Everything looked really good and they were going to make things easy for us.

I have been impressed with how they have broken down the community into groups of 8 and everything is based on that group. They have the same caretakers each day. Communication is good between the staff and our family, they have kept up well informed. I would recommend this community to others.

They are trying their best with the activities, we do know they have bingo nights. We do think the value is fair and would recommend this community to others. However this is some disconnect which could be caused be the short staff, and we are not able to visit in the evenings because of the short staff.

The staff members at the community has been so great. Our mother absolutely loves the food, however our father cannot stand it he says its horrible. Our mother is really enjoying the activities they are offering and all the socialization she is able to do.

The community was nice and we did a virtual tour. I would have liked the tour to be more comprehensive and the community just didn't fit our needs.

This is a great place for independent living who may need some in home care. [name removed] was great on the tour and answering questions.

We chose Brookdale Geary Street because they had availability and my grandmother had been there as well previously. They have been good with communication, they send us newsletters and if there are any issues they are sure to call us. Overall I would recommend to others looking.

I would tell others the room is nice. The staff are good about returning calls to families. It is very hard judgement of the community due to the pandemic. We have been able to have window visits, and they have started outside visits for families. The biggest expense and headache is medication management and I feel stuck in the middle.

I would recommend the community to others. The staff was very friendly. The administrative team was great at communicating with the family, and upbeat. All of our experiences were during the pandemic. The food could be improved.

We liked this one after our virtual tour - it looked pretty good. The only downside was that for the money, our loved one would have had to share a bedroom here, and we ended up finding a place where she could have a shared apartment with her own bedroom.

One of the reasons we choose the Brookdale Eddy Pond West community was because their memory care unit has been ranked very high, and the location works out well for our family.

Overall our loved one is happy but there, we get a calendar list of activities that are available for the residents and there is a wide variety for them to choose from. Our loved one is on the memory care side and they actually did not confine them to their rooms. There was in person activities as well as some virtual activities for their families to participate in. For Valentines Day the activities director gave us the tools we needed to paint along with our loved one virtually. They she would come pick them up and bring them to our loved ones, and we always received a gift basket with a bottle of wine. The activities director there has just gone out of her way to help our family with the transition during covid.

Most meals are in served in the rooms due to the pandemic. Under the circumstances the activities team is doing the best they can. The value and location are standouts to us. I wish their internal communication was better. One department says one thing and another says another. I wish they would all communicate to have the same answers.

It's been a good experience. It's a great place, clean, with great grounds to be outside, and the people are nice. It's just a nice place overall. It's been difficult during the Covid lockdowns. Everyone is vaccinated except a few who declined, so they're still having to wear masks. Brookdale has done their best to handle the Covid challenges, it's jus difficult for everyone.

I would tell others to check it out the community. I can't always get someone to answer the calls at the front desk but know they are busy. They were able to work with the family and loved one to make a quick transition.

Given the circumstances this community has done a really good job, and the cleanliness of the place is immaculate. The care done by Brookdale themselves is very good, but the care team that is contracted with Brookdale at first kind of went at things at their own pace and their own way. Once that issues was addressed it has been much better. Our loved one says the food is really good, and is serviced on time which she really appreciates. They have managed to keep some activities going, and they also do in apartment visits to interact with the residents so they aren't just watching TV. The value is very reasonable, compared to other places. It was less expensive, with a nicer facility and better rooms.

I do think the community is very clean, and the staff members are very friendly. They are starting to bring back their activities, and I do enjoy the activities they offer but to others they may seem a little boring.
