Brookdale

My dad did not care for Brookdale Hillsborough. The reason being was that he was coming from a 2 bedroom house and wanted at least a 1 bedroom apartment, here they only had very small studios available so he was not interested in that.

I am finding that if you have a concern, they respond right away and address the concern. That has bene a really good thing. They are short-staffed, which is a concern, but they are addressing it. Overall I feel that they do take really good care of your family member. They have been doing really good with activities. And it's a good value for what they're charging.

This was a newer, shiner, and beautiful community. They didn't have as many activities for the residents going on during our tour.

This was a care community that was recommended by A Place for Mom. The staff is pretty good to work with once you are able to get a hold of them. The trouble was having the staff be responsive to phone calls and emails by the family. The community was able to provide medication management, bathing, dressing and hygiene care as some of the care provided.

When you're shopping for one of these places for your parents, you need to look into the nursing care and the qualifications of the staff. Find out how many nurses are on staff at what time of the day and what are their certifications. Brookdale's care services could be improved by checking on the residents every couple of hours and having more certified nursing assistants. If you're in good health and don't need to be checked on frequently, then I would recommend Brookdale Hixson for you. It's a lovely place, the food is lovely, and the staff is lovely as well.

Brookdale Painted Post is a really good place for your mom, dad, or both parents. I think the staff shortages right now can lead to minor communication problems. But overall my loved one is very happy there. Everyone I've met there have been super nice, friendly, and seem to be very caring about the residents. Communication has been good between the community and our family. Anytime I have questions, they answer them. I had a lot of questions, which was really more ironing things out when my loved one moved in. We had some small problems in the beginning, but were able to get those issues straightened out. My loved one has made new friends while being there and I would recommend Brookdale to others.

The light housekeeping that is provided once a week, that person to me doesn't always do a very good job. The bus trips where they take residents shopping, you are only allowed one hour in the stores before you have to be back to the bus, I do wish that they would give them a little bit more time because that does not seem sufficient. The food is not bad, but the way it is served could be better. The facility itself is very nice and I really like the staff that work here as well.

The director is excellent, if you have a problem you can talk to him and he will try to solve it. Our only issue is them checking on my mom and making sure her oxygen is on. Mostly I would recommend Brookdale Ebenezer Road to others. It's clean and the staff is friendly. They are usually very responsive to whatever needs we have.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a really nice tour experience

Brookdale Conway is a very nice facility. The reason we did not choose it was because of the size, it was very small and only had about 30 residents. We were looking for a larger facility with more residents so she could interact with people.

My first disappointment was the quality of the food that the residents receive, it was not what we were expecting from what they had told us. I have had some issues with them getting my loved one to their appointments as well. I have had some safety issues I have had to report and deal with administration early on. Overall there are definitely some improvements they could make to better the facility itself.

I liked Brookdale Colonial Heights. Our tour was good, and they were my second choice. But the facility was too large for my loved one with mobility issues, and I was concerned he would get lost. Ultimately, the place we chose really blew us away and was head and shoulders above every other place else we toured in terms of transparency, vigilance, and professionalism regarding care of patients with dementia.

Brookdale Chapel Hill looked good. It looked clean and everything. But their décor was outdated and not to my liking. It was nice, but not what I would pick. And I preferred a different location.

The staff members are very friendly and have been very kind to our loved one. They are very accommodating to request and if there are any issues or concerns they look into resolving the problem. Our loved one seems to enjoy the meals and dining. They do have quite a few activities going on throughout the days like bingo, arts and crafts, church services where you can receive communion and they even bring in outside entertainments and guests. They also have a beauty shop which our loved one enjoys. Overall we are satisfied with Brookdale.

One of the main perks is my mom has a colostomy bag and they stepped up and prepared for it and are doing fine now. They handled the unexpected very well. They have great staff that work here but I don't think there are enough of them. I know that they are working on it though. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Garden Grove to other families looking.

Our loved one has only been here for [dates removed] but it has been a much better experience then our loved ones previous community. Brookdale Madison might not be the most beautiful looking on the outside but what they do have is a great staff team. They are more knowledgeable and trained to handle different levels of senior care and they do have adequate staffing

Care for my mother is so good. The love they show her and my family is amazing.

Good staff to resident ratio well kept & positive environment, good meals.

I thought it was a nice assisted living facility, but probably not appropriate for my mother who was [age removed] years old. She needed more individual care and probably more consistency in terms of the people she interacted with. It was too many people for her to deal with, so we never really left her there - one of us was always there full time. And due to that, we just realized she wasn't really engaged in community living so it wasn't a good fit for her. The facility was lovely. The people were very accommodating, and they went out of their way to help us and accommodate our requests. The cost was in line with what we expected. Overall they were a wonderful facility, just not the right fit for us.
