Brookdale

They have been very good to my dad. He slipped when getting out of bed at 5am this morning and called me. I called Brookdale and they took care of him immediately and then called me to let me know he was not hurt etc. He likes doing PT there and has made friends with many of the residents

Brookdale Pinehurst is a lovely assisted living facility, and the entire staff has been an absolute pleasure to interact with. As the daughter of two of the residents, I really only know what I hear from my parents, and for the most part, it has been very good. The food continues to be their chief complaint: choices, selections, quantity, temperature, spices, sauces, etc. There needs to be more variety at breakfast and dinner; perhaps spaghetti and meatballs, pizza, hot dogs, etc. would be nice as additional options instead of grilled cheese and chef salad every night. So, other than that, I give Brookdale high marks all the way around!

Our only complaint, as you know, is the food. We continue to be disappointed with the options, the selections, and the serving sizes. We would like to have different options for dinner other than the same chef salad and grilled cheese every night. We would like to have pizza, mashed or baked potatoes, spaghetti, hot dogs, roast beef, meatloaf, etc. For breakfast, I can no longer eat scrambled eggs and bacon every morning; it's just not acceptable. I would like pancakes, French toast, waffles, cereal, pastries, etc. I have voiced my concerns and desires several times, but nothing has really changed.

I think families placing loved ones (particularly if you have never had a need of this kind before) need to be patient, good communicators, and be polite. Everybody concerned including facility management and frontline caregivers are coming to learn what the expectations are - there is a learning period you have to go through and that is true wherever you go. We are all on the same team.

Outstanding community and staff that does a great job taking care of my dad, he isn't always the easiest to work with, but the staff does a wonderful job ensuring his needs are meet. Thank you to everyone.

The staff was super nice.

I think they do a really good job. They are having trouble retaining staff but that is an issue everywhere - they try their best despite those issues. I would recommend Brookdale Liverpool to others.

Unfortunately our loved one did not stay long and even though she was resistant to go in the first place she really ended up liking Brookdale as did our family. The staff were very friendly and communicative. The community was always nice and clean and she really did like all the meals that were provided so they did a great job there

Maybe a little outdated but a great safe place to be.

They're very good with communication-very friendly and approachable. They have addressed anything right away. My loved ones took awhile to adjust but they are very comfortable with staff. They are very accommodating with everything that was needed for my loved. Overall, it is goos as it can be. The environment was not too big or small, it's like a resort. They have an outdoor area, and it feels very homey. You feel good, when you walk in.

Overall I'm happy with Brookdale. The caregivers are good. My loved one is being taken care of and eating well. She's clean, and it never smells in the building. The other residents look like they're well taken care of also. The issues I have are really with administration and upper management. They are just doing a job and look at people as numbers almost. They don't have the knowledge to handle dementia behaviors, despite having doctors and psychiatrists on staff. As a memory care facility, they should be able and willing to work through dementia-related issues. I find their inability to do so very unprofessional.

What we really liked about Brookdale Sleepy Hollow and their staff is that they make really good efforts to make sure the residents living there are comfortable. Based on our experience so far with the community we would recommend them to other families.

We chose Brookdale Monroe Square because I thought it would be the best fit for her condition based on the quality care of care that they provided here. I also had a family member who used to be in management here and it came highly recommended which played a big part in our decision. My wife has been on no medication ever and has had perfect health other than her mind. I did receive a bill from the facility that provides meds and she is now on 5 different kinds of medication so I need to talk to the doctor about what exactly they are for. overall I would recommend this facility.

Tour was nice, great facility but unfortunately was too far away from location we needed to be in.

Everyone we met is friendly and helpful. When my loved one had a minor leak in her kitchen, it was fixed within 1/2 an hour if her calling the front desk. The meals are decent and they will accommodate you( in case you don't want what is being served that night).

It's a good place, but needs help in the kitchen.

Staff very respectful and kind to my dad. He enjoys the food. Facility is quiet and residents have been very friendly and accepting to my dad. Overall, I feel the facility fits our needs very well.

I would recommend Brookdale's memory care to others for their loved ones. I would also recommend you go and visit your loved one that is in the community to ensure your loved one's room and bathroom are being cleaned by the community. In addition to the prior recommendations, please keep any valuables at home that you don't want to come up missing. The staff are easy to work with if the family has questions or concerns about our loved one. The only thing we are not happy with is that there is no welcoming or introduction packet or orientation for the family. I think this could be improved along with the proactive communication from the staff to the family.
