Brookdale

We've had a really good experience at Brookdale Attleboro. I have no complaints. They try to work with you. The care has been very good, and the staff are helpful. They're really good to my loved one. She's happy there and loves the meals. The only problem I have is that their pricing system for personal care is not by the hour. It's based on flat rates for specific care needs, like showering, etc. And I feel like it costs more that way.

On the negative side: We were a little disappointed in housekeeping. I don't think her room was ever vacuumed. There were a few employees who were a little difficult to deal with. We were not impressed with [name removed], the nurse. He was a bit dismissive. I would suggest they have a different system for letting visitors in and out. There were several times I couldn't find an employee to let me leave and when I did, I sometimes received "attitude", like I was bothering them. Most were very sweet, just a couple acted like it was a bother. On the positive side: Mom really enjoyed the meals. She ate better than she ever has. Mom also loved the activities director and the visitors that came in to perform. Most of the staff was very good to her. The maintenance person was particularly very kind to her. Most of the servers were good to her as well. I observed them every night when I sat with her during dinner, and they took care of her. I don't know if I will use Brookdale again if we need to move mom out of her house. We will probably look for a different place. For short-term, it was okay.

As far as what this community could improve on their overall communication between the family, the patient and the staff team.

Our family had an in person tour and it was one of our top two choices, it was a nice tour experience but it just did not feel as welcoming to our loved ones and we were really concerned about the stairs that are right in the front when you first walk in.

Brookdale has been great. The staff is friendly. We do not have as much as support from staff as promised, but there are a few really good caregivers. And the activities directors are great.

We are very happy with the care mom is receiving. The facility is small and has a true sense of community. Staff is excellent! Meals are okay, could be improved.

The staff is friendly overall. Most of them are trying to do the best that they can with the residents. The facility itself is nice and clean. The meals are very well done. They offer plenty of activities (crafts, music, food, etc.). Overall it has been a good experience.

My mother was in a rehab facility. The Brookdale staff came over for an evaluation. From that point on, we were treated with dignity and respect. We toured the facility and were very impressed. The staff was very nice to us. I would recommend this facility to other families looking for a safe place for their family member.

Everyone signal staff member gets to know each and every resident and their individual quirks, likes, dislikes, etc. My dad likes the small atmosphere yet it is not cramped. Plenty of places to sit alone or with others.

They are taking good care of her, they were able to keep her calm with her current medications,. The place is clean. There is not a lot of communication from them on how she is doing.

I've been asked to review my family's experience with Brookdale Alliance, Ohio. Overall, the entrance experience has been positive. Due to the inexperience of the site director, the application process, pricing, and contract review was cumbersome. My family's diligence enabled the director to gain a better understanding of the contract and pricing. The new business manager's insights and experience made the actual contract execution and form completion easier. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It appears they truly care about the residents. They, along with the medical staff, have went out of their way to make my mother's transition to assisted living as smooth as possible. The medical team has been a pleasure to work with. The facility is clean, and my mother enjoys the meals and the activities. My mother is only two weeks into her residency, so this review is limited in its scope.

My loved one was there a short period. They had plenty of activities. They are really good people. The staff was very accommodating and very helpful. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

The carpeting and furniture could use some updating, as it is worn in the common areas. Overall the community is very clean. The staff are very friendly and have a homey feel to them. The staff communication with the family is very good and their response is excellent. There are three meals a day served, and there are choices for the residents to choose from. There is room for improvement for the quality of food served. The community is accommodating for dietary restrictions.

WE thought the facility itself was great, the location was very convenient for us and it was very clean. We had no problems with the workers there, they were all fine and nice. However they could work on improving their billing department - we had some issues there so they could have better organization and explanation.

The staff is over the top friendly. I've had no problems at all with the staff. They will try to do everything they can for you. With their evaluation of my loved one, they helped her get on some medication that she needed. The rooms have great closet space. But their housekeeping is VERY light. And the activities I don't feel are age appropriate. They need more variety of activities and just more activities in general. She really likes going on outings, which they don't do a lot of. Sometimes they say they're going to come do this or that, and they don't. I'm sure that has to do with how busy they are. But I do like that it's a smaller community. And they work well with the families. They will try to accommodate you as much as possible.

The staff helps a lot and always answer my questions when I ask them. There have been times I call the main number and no one answers so that has been frustrating to me. It doesn't happen very often but it still happens. I would overall recommend Brookdale Sherwood to other families.

I have a few things but they are overall good.

The overall community is clean. However, my mom's room is RARELY cleaned - except by me. Also there has been a $600 a month increase which is astronomical. Especially for someone on fixed income.

Care services could be more available for rides to additional places. Would like more variety of food for regular meals. Holiday season was nice for residents as the activities director decorated LR.

Brookdale Wilsonville is a safe place and an overall friendly place. Unfortunately, there's been a lot of staff turnover and a drastic price increase since moving in ($400 increase per month since October.)
