Brookdale

We are happy with our choice. The one thing that we feel needs improvement is the quality of food. The staff are all very nice and kind. They are very attentive and notice when my Dad is having an issue. His room stays clean and they wash his clothes extra when needed.

Brookdale Cape Coral was smaller, and felt more home-like, but was an older, although well kept, building without much outdoor space, and seemed to have less activities. The management was very kind, and it is relatively close to us, but on a very busy street. I also didn't see many residents outside their rooms. It was less expensive, and made our top four though.

They are nice and caring about the residents. I would recommend that others check Brookdale River Road out.

The staff is incredible! The whole place is so upbeat. Of all my visits to this and other facilities, there was a genuine feeling of warmth and welcome at Brookdale Meadowmont. And because they are a smaller facility, they know their residents well. And they truly like people! Billing is my only complaint - and that is handled at their headquarters off site, in another state. Truly uncompassionate and unresponsive people. But the local staff helps with navigating that too though.

I liked Brookdale University Park. The facility was nice and had nice rooms. The food they served us that day was good. Our parents' needs changed after we toured though, and they just ended up needing something different.

My family member has been extremely happy. He's the sociable type and has made great friends. The care is excellent. He gets a lot of attention. The only problem he's encountered is they have a lot of trouble with their boilers and from time to time have been out of hot water. I think they're working on it, but that has been an issue. Overall it has been an excellent place to stay.

We toured with Brookdale Beckett Meadows and it was also a very nice facility. I found that they did not have as many activities as another Brookdale we looked at and it was just overall quieter. The staff here were great but not as proactive with their follow up during the whole process. It was a great place but just not the right fit for my loved one.

We chose Brookdale Gaines Ranch because I thought the quality of the services including the food and the apartment that he is in was very good for the price. The people were very responsive to answering questions and keeping in touch as we were getting set up to move in and even after. They have been great about communication. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Gaines Ranch.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. We have had no issues with the community since my loved one has moved in. The staff have been very welcoming to us and our loved one. The communication between the staff and family has been excellent.

This facility is really good. I love the staff. My loved one is very comfortable here, it's like being at home. It's a smaller facility and feels very homey, with a very friendly atmosphere. Housekeeping seems to be done daily. Her room is always clean and her bed is always made. Communication with the family is good. They call me and I call them, when needed. They have a Newsletter and a Facebook Page, which is nice and also helpful. They have a variety of activities and there's always something going on. I would most definitely recommend this facility to family and friends.

The most favorable thing for my friend has been the meals. He's very impressed wit the kitchen staff, and in particular the soup chef. They have very good food, and I hear a lot of other people make that comment as well. They've done a good job catering to seniors in that respect. The apartment is very nice, and he likes it. He's had very favorable interactions with the other residents. He's met a lot of people. They say hi to one another and call each other by name, which is a real positive. And it's fairly inexpensive compared to a lot of places. I think he's absolutely getting his dollar's worth.

Brookdale is an excellent facility. We've had a few issues as we've made the transition into the home for my father-in-law, but they've all been resolved quickly and professionally. My father-in-law loves the food and the option to choose his menu each week. We've been pleased with how responsive the staff is to our concerns.

So far we have been really pleased with our experience with Brookdale Stanwood. The staff members are very knowledgeable and friendly and if we have any questions or concerns we bring it to their attention and it is answered promptly. Our loved one has been quite pleased with how she has been treated and seems to really be enjoying the meals and the laundry service.

They really need additional personnel to assist especially at night. One nurse on call for this facility is not enough. Properly trained care personnel would help.

I like the security here and I feel safe. I like playing bingo and enjoy all of the musicans that come.

Brookdale staff has been very helpful in helping me find an appropriate place for my Mother to receive the care she needs. Taking care of a family member with dementia is a very difficult thing to do. The staff are there for the family as well as the client and in reassuring, you have made the best decision for your family. Having a primary doctor on staff and a podiatrist are a great plus. Safety, medical, nutritional, emotional and behavioral issues along with others are addressed.

Overall it's been a pretty positive experience. A few things need addressing, but I would still recommend checking it out for placement. love the energy! Everyone seems so happy all the time. The biggest improvement would be response time when a resident pushes their button. Right now it's around 30 minutes. Also residents complain about the food. (Too bland, too cold.)

So far so good. No place is perfect (including our own home) but they seem to genuinely care. The biggest issue is transport to Senior Center (they will only transport for doctor visits). I have had to keep Visiting Angels in 2-3x week and between the 2, the cost is ridiculous. Someone should go into the "Driving Ms Daisy" business...they'd make a mint!

They are going through a staffing transition along with some staffing shortages but it is a really nice place and they seem to be very caring and trying their best. We have not had a long experience yet but so far we would recommend them to other families.

The community itself is not big at all, it really has this comfortable and cozy feeling to it. It does not feel industrial, it has more of a homey feel to it. The staff members there are very very friendly and accommodating. They do have bingo several times a week as well as other things. The meals and dining service is just okay, they do not have much of a variety or other choices to choose from.
