Brookdale

We like Brookdale and after a bit of time adjusting I think my mom likes it as well. The only complaint I can think of: it's taken an extraordinary amount of time to hook up her TV and even now, a couple months into it, I'm not absolutely sure it's been done. I suspect it hasn't, as my mom hasn't mentioned being able to watch TV. Since she's paying for it you'd think it would be a priority, but... Other than that, overwhelmingly positive. The staff is very attentive to my mom's needs and I hear the meals are very good although I haven't tried lunch or dinner myself. My mom seems relatively happy and this is from a woman who is generally unhappy. I would highly recommend Brookdale.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Facility is clean and engaging.

My father says that everyone is nice to him. They always say hello and know him by name. Location is the top reason, why they stuck out over other places. Near stores. How clean it was compared to other places. The people.

We chose Brookdale Scotts Valley because of the location, price and the overall feel of the facility. The staff is caring and responsive to a variety of needs.

What we like the most about Brookdale Carriage Club is that they are very friendly residents and staff. Absolutely unique, beautiful campus. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

My father was a resident at Brookdale Dover for 6 years. During his stay he was well cared for. His medications were dispensed. All meals provided. Housekeeping kept his apt. clean and tidy. The staff was always friendly and respectful. There were ample activities for him to participate in. There is a physical Therapist on staff. There is a physician and a nurse practitioner on staff. Occasionally difficult to contact staff; otherwise accommodating. Memory Care unit was disappointing. Not enough staff. Residents mostly sit around unoccupied or in room. My father slept a lot. They did do his laundry, dispensed medications. The staff did the best they could.

Apartment sizes are very generous and love the property and views. Clubhouse is also very nice. Yes, we would recommend Brookdale Carriage Club Providence to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Signed a contract only to find out days later that the medical director, the head administrator and head of sales all moved on to other jobs and the interim personnel was scrambling to straighten out the issues at the facility. Communication was lacking with specifics on the cost of care at each level and with general, good-to-know information such as housekeeping days, laundry days and med times. No formal first day orientation was done with the resident or the family laying out all this information, plus emergency procedures and under what circumstances the family would be contacted.

All the staff, maintenance, cleaning staff, and ambassadors, are very helpful. The home is a Friendly atmosphere, which made the move successful. The food is great, tastes like my home cooking. [name removed] who we worked with, was caring. I now have friends at Brookdale, as I moved my folks in. After a month, this is a good decision, for my father and mother.

Overall I guess Brookdale is a decent facility. The staff is kind and friendly. The food is good and they eat faithfully 3 meals a day. What I don't like is how they charge extra for a lot of things they help the patients with like bathing and help walking to the dinning area or help putting their clothes on. I also had an incident with my mother's medicine but it was resolved quickly.

My experience of living at Club Hill has been amazing and wonderful. I love it here. The staff is professional, caring and alert to your every need. The residencees are alert and busy at all times. There is soooo much to do on every given day of the month that you can join or sign up for. It is a totally wonderful place to spend your golden years. The building, though old is beautiful with green grass, trees and water all around. The apartment units are large with one wall in every room having a window from floor to ceiling. It is a bright, clean, busy, happy place. However, if food is important to you - this is not for you. The dining room is inviting, clean and beautiful with clean table linen and napkins. The staff in the dining room is attentive and kind - but the food, although varied, is poor.

I searched for a new place for a relative with dementia due to elopement and very poor care at the previous dementia care center. Not only are the patients safely housed, Brookdale is clean and has friendly staff members that truly care about the residents. Activities keep the residents engaged and it warms my heart to see residents actively participating in activities such as Wheel of Fortune, word searches, jewelry making, etc. I highly recommend Brookdale!

The staff is very caring and patient with the residents. They are in somewhat of a transition with their activity director. The assistant activity director took over the position and is very kind and good with the residents. There does not seem to be a lot of activities that include all the residents, but I think he is working on doing more. They also have a new executive director who seems to be transitioning well. Their wellness and health director is very caring and efficient. I would say overall, in spite of the fact that it is an expensive facility, the staff is amazing. I have much more respect for those who work in that field.

Brookdale has been a great experience for us. My best advice would be to ask tons of questions. They're very knowledgeable. They're very willing to share and they want you to feel comfortable with your decision.

It was very nice. Unfortunately, my mother wasn't very interested in much of anything. If you move there while you're still mobile, it's much better, because I think there was more to do. But when you have to wait to have someone get you up and dressed, and then you can't eat the food, I guess it's depressing. I thought the food was delicious, and, for the most part, everything was as clean and nice as humanly possible. I would recommend it.

Brookdale was a nice place but I think they charged to much for advanced care.

Overall, I'd rate Brookdale as a positive. There were times I would have to search for staff to be let out. Also there were times I had to tidy [name removed] room like pick up discarded gloves or tissues. I initially had issues setting up direct payments from my savings but after a couple of months it was squared away, but it was very frustrating for a time. I can't give you a long term assessment as [name removed] passed from a hemorrhagic stroke on [fate removed].

The staff is very accommodating. The food is okay, too many sauces. Apartments are spacious. Patios should all be floor level, not dependent on users to put in a false floor to use. Right now there are steps. Not convenient.

The facility is very welcoming and homey. You get a community feel when you walk in. I've found the staff to be very friendly and patient.

Mom has really thrived since arriving at Brookdale. I'm confident she is safe there.
