Brookdale

Beautiful, spacious building and grounds. They were terribly understaffed. The temps working on weekends didn't connect with the residents and usually stated they were not employees. Not unusual for caretaker and administrative staff to serve/clean in the dining room. Frequently ran out of some items listed on menu. The food is nothing like shown in their ads. Overall the caretaker staff is pleasant and helpful. During initial visit, I was told my mother could transfer to their Gainesville community when needed. They don't have a community in Gainesville.

I would recommend. It's a good facility for the price. They do have a bit of a turnover issue

Actually, location and shopping center right there. It's only 5 minutes between me and my daughter.. so it's a pleasure. Staff are nice enough and his apartment is lovely. Probably could improve menu and more activities. But it's decent.

I like the availability of the nurses. I really like that they do not add costs for each little thing my mother needs. They can definitely improve on the food. I understand these are memory care people, but some of them could still enjoy better food. I do not find the new director to be very personable or helpful in questions and concerns that I have. The nurses are, however, personable and very helpful. I'm mostly deal with them. I would recommend this place because it is clean acceptable and especially because of the value for your dollar

The building is beautiful and convenient and conducive to relaxation but the people in charge often smile without feeling and compassion. They often don't deal with issues honestly. It feels like stories are told to avoid conflict and most decisions are made to benefit corporate and profits. Great improvement could be made by coming out of the office and eating meals with the residents. Currently employees are given free shift meals but they take it boxed up to their break room or home after their shift.

Brookdale is really well manage. The facility offer a safe, clean, and comfortable living spaces with friendly staff who provides great care for the patient well being.

Brookdale has been great! Nice staff that gets the job done. Yes, we would recommend the community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

Food was not the healthiest, low salt, chicken and fish....too much pork and sausage. Cleaning was not good at all! But everyone was friendly and nice.

My husband and I have been at Brookdale for a year. We are surrounded with competent, respectful, and above all, kind and loving caregivers and staff. This is a small facility that feels like home to us and the other residents and staff are practically family. We are comfortable and well cared for here.

What I like the most about Brookdale Mandarin is the Location, my apartment, close to my daughter. They need to clean hallway carpet or replace with flooring. The food could be much better. I know you can't please everyone one. But jello and pudding would be nice

They are not the most buttoned-up, sometimes requiring repeated calls to get through. Assuming it's a high-turnover position. Not unfriendly, but not always helpful. Some members over-worked and it shows in their attitude. Others are super-friendly and on it. Did seem to notice a slight decline over the year my mother was there. Not sure if that was due to belt-tightening or a change in the local talent pool.

The food service is great. Very individualized to the point needs of each resident. Staffing level is always good.

The common facility areas are pretty clean, but could improve on cleaning of the room. We like that it is small and homey. Yes, I would recommend Brookdale to others h/e i think no matter where a loved one goes, these facilities are under staffed and at times lackadaisical and you need to stay on top of them.

The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The facility itself was kept quite clean.

The aids are very responsive and caring, which is sooo appreciated. My parents rarely complain but we keep hearing about how bad the food is. They loved the food at [community removed], and the activities director there frequently visited residents and encouraged participation. Also, better communication regarding caregiver shifts, and rules of engagement. Like, how do we ensure changes in care get communicated to all aids? My parents like to know who is providing care each day, when their shift ends and who replaces them, etc... But overall Brookdale Chatfield does a good job.

Our facility/ staff are very friendly. And always there to help us when we need it.

The facility is very nice, always very clean. The staff is caring, friendly, professional, helpful. There is always something to do, activities for all, in house and day trips every month for those that are able. It is the cleanest and busiest senior home I have ever seen. My brother is the youngest there and he had many friends !

We just happen to be located in one of the furthest rooms away from the entrance. Which also means for one of the furthest rooms away from the nurses. They use a call button and sometimes it can take up to an hour before you will receive a response. When I'm available, I will seek down an employee and they are likely to speed up things for me.

The friendliness of the staff at all levels was very nice and kind. There was a lot of interaction and he always felt that they cared about him, which relieved me a lot! They need more physical exercise that is required!
