Brookdale

They're understaffed right now but they are doing a fantastic job with what they've got. I just happen to know that they're understaffed. My mother just thinks they hung the moon! She's doing very well there - much better than she was at home with help.

The general areas have been really clean. My mother had a roommate (she's since moved into her own room) that had some problems with being incontinent and there was soiled clothing laying around the room. It definitely had an odor. My sister did talk to someone about that and they told us they were doing the best they could and they had some other things to take into consideration. They have been wonderful to both us and my mother. They have bent over backwards to make her feel at home. They are really wonderful to work with from the dining staff to the cleaning staff, the administration to the nursing staff. Everyone is wonderful. We're very happy with the care she's getting but her resources are limited and she won't be able to stay indefinitely.

Within 3 weeks my mom is up walking. She only uses the wheelchair very intermittently. The rest of the time she up walking with a walker or with assistance. It's working out real well. I've got a sitter with her and the price of a sitter is half the price that a sitter was at the last place she was at.

The staff is what makes the place. I know the price that we originally looked at seemed really good but I don't pay the bill so I don't really know about the value. The care seems to be very good. This is a locked facility. Most of the folks in there are pretty far gone but I've seen the staff in there trying to do things with the folks. They're doing the best they can with what they've got to work with. We're very very pleased with what we've got. It was a hard situation and the staff there is very good. It's like walking in to a family home - very warm.

I think they're friendly enough. It's expensive but if my parents are being taken care of it's worth it.

Overall my mother was very happy there. It was a very difficult situation so it says something that they were able to turn it into a positive for her.

I found this for my friend, but I was in contact with my friend the whole time she was there. She liked it a lot, she never ssaid anything bad about it. It was very nice, the people were very nice and she had a little apartment there for three or four weeks after she came out of having her ankle replaced. Everything's high price wise but this was the only place she's been to so there was no way to compare, but I felt that it was fair. They had movies, bingo and several other things, church services, that she enjoyed going to. I think she would probably go back if she needed to but she did say the food could be better.

90% of the staff are excellent, some are just quiet. I do think its a little expensive, but I have ntohign to compare it with. We have been to others and some of them are cheaper and some are more expensive. I looked at them and my brother chose which one he wanted, I imagine he picked Emeritus because he was impressed with how clean it was, the grounds were nice, the people were very nice and he didn't really go see any others after this one. Weve felt very comfortable there, everybody weve talked to have been very nice, very helpful, they've always been nice to my mom but the only problem really is that the rooms are really tiny. But that is really it.

After visiting and talking with Wynwood we felt like it was the right fit for my mom. We thought we would have to put her in a memory care community but with them we were able to put her in assisted living. They are currently building a memory care unit and I believe it should be ready sometime in 2014. Once that is built if my loved one needs more care then she could continue to stay on the property just receive more care through them. They are very accommodating and have really taken the time to learn my mom behaviors and how to adjust to it. An example is they put stickers that say "Alarm will sound" on certain doors so when my mother reads them she doesn't open them and has to go out a certain door, that way they can see her and know when she is going outside. The residents are friendly and help each other. Some residents take some new residents under their wings so that they feel more comfortable.

My husband and I lived in a senior residence there. It's not and assisted living or anything. I enjoyed it very much but my husband didn't like it so we moved out. I enjoyed the activities. They had exercise classes everyday and entertainment and a lot of theme meals and little treats. There were lots of things going on. I still go over there for a knitting group.

The care givers and the hands on staff are really good, they are friendly and helpful. The admin staff is very friendly but they are transactional. Clare Bridge is an all inclusive community so that makes it very nice for us because there are not extra charges at the end of the months. Overall they are a pretty good and accommodating community that I would recommend to anyone.

This was located close to my home only about 5 minutes away. They rooms are very spacious and the food is good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It just seemed like it was the best fit for our situation. The atmosphere here was just seemed better then other communities. It is very warm and welcoming and really makes you feel comfortable. They have excellent curb appeal and very nice area where you can sit and relax. Trisha from A Place for Mom was very helpful and very nice.

The assisted living director and the people that we delt with for moving my mom in were all fabulous! A couple of times I've visited in the evening and the staff has been not quite as friendly. I haven't been able to talk to them about that yet. The value is off the chart! The care services are pretty good. It's only been two weeks so they're still getting to know my mom but what I experienced was good. There was one young lady that didn't lock my mom's wheel chair, and it could have been that my mom didn't want it locked, but she tried to stand up and she fell. I walked in and was able to help her. The food is very healthy and on some occasions it's even gourmet. After my mom's first day she said everyone is so nice! She's been participating in things like watching tv with other people and I know she's attended some yoga classes. Brookdale is very cheerful and bright with a lot of life. They have a pet dog that my mom just loves and an aviary and a garden. It's all really positive.

(Activities Not Rated) The Village at Skyline was having a really good sale on the spaces available. They were very accommodating in holding the sale prices for us while we sold the home. The community itself is really beautiful and it just seemed like the right fit for our loved one.

They're very friendly there it's just a nice place. They're well-kept They still consider my mother a resident even though she's in the hospital currently. They're taking good care of my mother. My mother hasn't been there long enough but from what I've seen the activities are good.

It is a very nice community my son, granddaughter and I looked at it and it is just a wonderful community. The staff is just wonderful they are very personable. I would like to move here but it is just too pricey for my budget. The price list they gave us is based on the private rooms but I am looking for a semi private room.

My loved one was here but had to move her due to needing a higher level of care. They were conveniently located and we enjoyed being at this community. We did have to supply 100% of the furnishing and any other goodies. They have 3 meals a day that are offered in the dining area. The head person Roberta gave us false information which at the time gave me peace of mind but turns out due to it being false I ended up having more issues.

The community is only about 5 minutes away from me so it makes it very convenient for our family. When I visit I like to talk to the residents and they seem really happy. The girls that work here are really doing a great job and are working their behinds off to make it the best they can. When you bring up a concern they will address it and make any necessary adjustment. They conduct walk around every two hours to ensure all the residents are being taken care of. They have semi-private rooms that still provide plenty of privacy, there is a wall that separates the room but they still have someone here with them. The lounges in this community are very pretty and very nice to just sit and talk to residents. We are very happy with Emeritus and would recommend them to anyone.

We selected Emeritus over other communities because it seemed to be the best fit for our loved one. There was one other community that was really good as well but Emeritus just had immediate availability to we ended up choosing them. We would recommend them to anyone.

Our loved one is very happy here. They really love the food and everything is just going great. Our loved one is looking better and feeling better we have seen good improvement. We are very pleased with Grand Court Tavares and would recommend them to anyone.
