Brookdale

Brookdale Place of Albuquerque has been great for my Mom. With the scheduled activities and help for hygiene I would recommend this for anyone that has a loved one with memory loss. The weekends are a little scattered as this is the time for visitation. It would be nice if the housekeeping on the weekend was more prompt. The weekend was the only time that I did smell pee. (My Mom's roommate is a bed wetter). Overall though the staff is so friendly and willing to answer any and all questions. So far this has been a good fit for my Mom.

I've been satisfied with them. They do everything, they do housekeeping once a week, and they do my laundry. The staff is really very friendly, and most of the residents are too. They have bingo and stuff to do, but I mostly just walk my dog. I liked that you can have pets here, it would be nice if there was a dog park we could go to. They have three meals a day and it's pretty good, I am a pretty picky eater, and I have gotten along just fine. I am pretty happy with it.

We moved our precious mother to Clare Bridge August 1st, 2013. The staff warmly greeted mom and our family. During my mother's 8 months of living at Clare Bridge, she experienced tender loving care, respect and honor. She was seen by the same doctor who has been treating residents at Clare Bridge for 13 years. That alone is just remarkable! The executive staff and the caregivers are both patient and kind. They have such a heart for elderly care which is essential for caregiving at this level with this demographic. I know firsthand ... I visited nearly every single day. It was my home away from home. My mom passed away in April of this year. During the last two weeks of my mom's life, Clare Bridge staff worked hand in hand with hospice care. That warm staff that greeted my mother with open arms the day she arrived is the same warm staff that attended her funeral. If you're looking for first-class care with first-class staff in a first-class facility (newly renovated) then tour Clare Bridge first!

We were very fortunate. My father goes over all the time and they make him feel very comfortable. They never make him feel as though he is in the way.

I think they are doing very well. It's very clean and the staff is friendly. They are very attentive and responsive. I haven't had any complaints about the food at all, in fact I ate there myself the other day, and I think I am going to go back more often, it was good. The only thing is, they could be more available at the door to let people in and out since it is secure. I know that they are busy though and that is a small thing for me. I am really happy with them.

From the 1st phone call, dealing with The Devonshire has been a very positive experience. Kim Imler, the senior sales associate, is a complete professional. She listened to our needs and my concerns regarding my mother's placement in personal care and guided us along the path to best fulfill our needs. It has taken over 1 year for my mother to arrive at her decision, and Kim never pushed us along or gave up on us; she just offered assistance when needed and guided us when necessary. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and it's all due to Kim. Now that I am in the process of moving Mom in, I have come it contact with many other staff members, and all of them are so kind and helpful and welcoming. I dare not mention one name lest I forget the others, so suffice it to say that I will certainly sleep well at night knowing that my mother is in their care.

It's very clean, and the staff is very friendly. My father has complained bitterly about the food, he says everything is covered in a spicy sauce and he has to uncover it before he can eat it. He says the description sounds wonderful but when you get it it's not the same. When we first got here, there were some communication issues and it took a while to get some things set up and started. It's wonderful that they were able to bring some of their things from home to make it feel a lot more like home. We chose them because both of my parents could be there, and they have dementia care there for later when it's needed.

Our first impression after a tour of the facility was positive. One of the main attractions of this particular facility was its proximity to mom's home community and other relatives, as we (son and daughter-in-law) live farther away and cannot visit frequently. The facility also sent representatives to mom's home on several occasions, both to evaluate her and to familiarize her with staff; we found this to be extremely helpful in getting her adjusted to the idea of living somewhere else. Nevertheless, it was not easy to get her to move, but the staff was very good at recognizing her reluctance and making the transition easier for everyone. Generally, the surroundings are well-lit, safe, and pleasant; the staff is willing to go out of their way to help. One thing that has bothered us a bit is the easy access to the facility; on our visits there rarely is anyone present at the entrance to control visitors. Mom still talks as if she is going back "home" at some point, but we have been told this is very common. The regular meals, meds, and social contact have improved her general health and cognition considerably. The concerns that we have had regarding her care have been treated as important by the staff and addressed. We like the fact that she can see the doctor on site regularly as well as a podiatrist and a hairdresser. It is difficult for us to evaluate the activities since we cannot be there for most of them, but hopefully the staff encourages mom to participate. The care is extremely costly financially, but the staff has been helpful in finding alternate means of payment (VA benefits, etc.).

My Father has only been at Emeritus at Latrobe for 12 days so far, but the transition from home has been made as smoothly and comfortably for Daddy and his family as possible by the wonderful staff. The physical environment is pleasing and pleasant, and my chances to join Emeritus "community" activities very rewarding.

My siblings and I wanted to thank Sterling House so very much for their recent attention and support in helping our father move into their assisted living community. With heartfelt respect, we were especially gracious that they were able to do so on such short notice and in such an efficient manner. We look forward a long relationship with my father's new home and his care by the staff and workers at Sterling House of Vero Beach. Thanks

Rich and Sandy were very welcoming...building under 5 years old..beautifully appointed, gorgeous courtyard with rocking chairs, outdoor fireplace, hotel style dining room, lots of great activities, resident dog "Molly" four legged greeter, beautiful large rooms, huge bathrooms, all oversized/handicapped accessible. Great value for the price.

I am very impressed with the care and coordination of services that my mother is receiving. The staff is friendly and always answers any of my questions. I am impressed with the medical staff and their attention to my mom's medical and health needs. I would as a health care provider highly recommend Clare Bridge of Portage to any of my friends and colleagues.

I have been very satisfied with the services given to my brother, who is 84 years old and blind. He is the only blind person in the facility and we are charged for someone to come and get him to take him to the dining room. He has been unable to learn to get there without help. His room is cleaned once a week and items that have fallen to the floor (kleenex, papers, etc) are in the floor when we arrive unless it is the day the room is cleaned. He has been very pleased with the meals, but sometimes he said they have only "cottage cheese and salad" for a meal. I believe he just does not see his choices and hears only a little of what may be said to him, as his hearing is also bad. The Sunday church service is recorded. He is unhappy about that and so he does not go. He likes that a minister comes on Tuesdays, and they sing and play the piano. My brother has always been in choir and had started singing with them. This is giving him some times to look forward to. They have holiday celebrations with decorations and mini-parties. Prices increase each year. You may start out being able to afford the rate, but it keeps climbing. You can talk with the office personnel and may get a discount if you truly need it. It is no higher than others around, and in fact, is a little lower than some. You are charged for any additional services "you" require. An extra charge is levied because he has to be led to the dining room, living room, etc. He is charged because he needs help taking his medicines. I am proud to tell people that he's at Brookdale New Hope. Residents are treated like the valuable people they are. The outside of the building is nice and the inside decor is quite nice. A large living room like home, dining room with table that seat only 4, not long dorm tables. This helps for people who are hard of hearing. I recommend Brookdale New Hope as a nice alternative to "home>"

Brookdale Place is nestled in the trees directly below a fantastic view of Pike's Peak!! Not only is the view outstanding, but also the staff can't be beat!! You will not find a more caring staff than the staff at Brookdale Place! The moment you walk in the doors, you feel right at home. Their menu options make you feel like you're dining in a fine restaurant, while living areas throughout bring home to you. Staff is around for questions and everyone is knowledgeable about the residents needs. There are always activities available as well as bus trips around town. Your loved one will find no finer place to live than Brookdale Place. We've already told our kids this is the place for us should we need an assisted living facility! Ask for Shari Hall to give a top notch tour!!!

There aren’t many activities provided. The meals are good. The staff are very nice to you. It is very nice. I’d give it a five over all if they had more activities. They have a nurse here. I guess they’re pretty good. The hair dresser might be absent a bit.

I’m very happy. We’ve been very pleased. Not are the staff friendly, but they are very will to help, very accommodating, not strict that they forget we’re human. The food is very good. The parking has been perfect.

It’s an option that has a wide range of services to meet the needs of residents. It’s a very clean community and the staff is very friendly. They seem to offer a lot of activities, but we haven’t been there very long yet.

I couldn't have asked for a more supportive team to help facilitate my mother's move into their facility. The administrator was available to me any time night or day and helped to clarify for me the different options and helped me formulate ways to help my mother view this move as a life - enhancing oppotunity.

Farm Pond is a nice facility with beautiful grounds in the middle of an active walking park. Our aunt loved sitting in her window and watching people and their critters go by! The activities woman is wonderful, and all of the staff were warm, helpful and took great care of our aunt. The only challenge we had with them was communication - finding someone to talk with and making sure all staff were on board. Overall, we would highly recommend them!

My husband has been in ClareBridge of AA for 3 months, chosen by our children. This is the 1st time I've been able to visit him there. I was very impressed with the staff and the level of caring that all the patients seemed to receive. The ratio of staff to patient seemed very well proportioned. Areas are opened and the building is in a circle with plenty of windows and sunshine. There are plenty of visual stimulation available and the staff always seems to be greeting the patients. My only distress was that Bob's room had a lot of "stuff" (small pieces of paper, etc.) on the floor and I would have liked to have seen his bedroom floor cleaner so if he walked barefoot at night, he would not pick up all the crud there. I have been in rehab twice and have seen the differences in treatment in those and in ClareBridge and am very pleased and positive about what I see there. Money wise, he is receiving more for his money than I am at rehab and my rehab is $2000 more per month than ClareBridge.
