Brookdale

Our experience with Sterling House at the Orchards was only a brief one, but I think they did an excellent job overall looking after my loved one. There were always there, both for him and for us, and they bent over backwards to make his final days comfortable. They are certainly worth a look if you're looking into senior care in the area.

It's been a very nice experience. It's a nice property and it works for them. They are getting acclimated and enjoying their time with family and friends. The location is great and the property is nice and clean, with friendly staff and lots of activities.

Everyone was very caring for both me, looking for a facility for my dad, and for my dad as a patient. I liked their philosophy on memory care to join their journey and not to try to correct the patience. The memory care wing is fairly new and very clean. The staff is very kind and patient My dad seems to be flourishing at the Facility.

I moved my husband from another facility that was less than adequate for the type of care I wanted for him. The difference was like day and night! He actually improved in his speech and mobility when moved to Brookdale- Nacogdoches in San Antonio. The caregivers are attentive and friendly to both the residents and the families. The facility's general areas and residents rooms don't smell. Their laundry is never allowed to pile up, and done each day. The meals are healthy and plentiful. The staff go the extra mile to ensure the residents' safety and well being. My husband is very content here. I feel very blessed to have found this wonderful facility.

We moved my parents into the Assisted Care wing of Lodge at Paulin Creek. They had been living in an Independent Care Facility in southern California and were worried about the move. However, the sales staff, hospitality, maintenance, and aids were all very kind and ready to help my parents with whatever needs they had. If there were any issues during my parents' transition, the staff responded to my calls immediately. My parents are almost settled in and are already enjoying history lectures, Bingo, and who knows what else. They are very content right now, which makes us all happy. The place is clean and well located. There were only a couple things that needed repairing and they've been attended to. The only complaint from my mom is that she gets a different aid every day and she is used to having one caregiver. That will just take some getting used to.

My husband and I visited my 83- and 84-year-old parents in Florida right before Christmas and immediately realized my mom's dementia and dad's physical health required assisted living. We toured 6 different assisted living communities on Dec. 23 but couldn't convince my mom until Christmas morning. Once she agreed, the staff bent over backwards to accommodate the last-minute move and my parents were sleeping in their new Colonial Park apartment by Dec. 26. It's been a huge adjustment for them, but the staff has given them a lot of individual attention to make the transition smoother. What we like about Colonial Park: *It's all on one floor--no elevators or worries about my mom forgetting which floor she needed to get to. *They have fixed meal times but the food is amazingly good, the dining room is lovely, and the wait staff attentive and polite. *They have a gorgeous grand piano in the large living area so if one of your parents plays piano, it's a great instrument to have available. *They have a large family-room-like activity room with Wii games, a beverage bar, and plenty of room for both small and large groups. The Activities Director's office is right there in the room. *About half of the apartments, including my parents', open onto a very large, enclosed outdoor green space with a gazebo, tables and chairs, and even a grill. *They have regular, reliable van transportation for residents, which my parents use 4 or 5 times a week. *My dad receives physical therapy daily in their on-site gym room and is already getting stronger. *There were other bridge players in the community, which was very important to my parents. *It's a lovely community, full of the type of colonial furnishings my parents have loved for years. *It smelled good! *It has a secure memory care facility if it's needed in the future. *it's on a major thoroughfare, so it's close to shopping and easy to find, but set far enough back from the road to be quiet and peaceful. A few downsides: *Most of the residents seem quite a bit older than my parents. *There's no transportation to church on Sunday morning and my parents are missing that tremendously. *We would have appreciated a guidebook of some kind listing rules for the laundry, signing up for transportation, listing the important staff members' names and contact information, who to call when for what problems, the general community calendar, etc. They probably have something like this for the residents, but because of my parents' memory issues, they don't remember getting one. I could have helped more with the transition, even from out-of-state, if I'd had a copy of this information as well. Overall, we are very happy with the facility, the administrative staff, the dining room, activities and the patient care staff. My parents have only been there about 6 weeks, so I will update this review as they settle in more fully.

Well i have toured the facility for my mother however she has not moved in yet because she had fallen and is in recovery currently. However from all my pre - move in experiences, I found the place to be a very wonderful experience. The place was very nice and helpful and I think it will be an excellent choice once we get her established there.

We have been quite pleased. We have heard nothing but positive comments. The food is phenomenal, and he loves the cocktail hour. We really did ourselves a disservice not using the Comforcare service, for the first few weeks. Kelly and Nancy, really advised us of it, and we skimped out, don't do that. Don't get me wrong, he can pick up the phone and they will come turn his T.V. on for him if he needs it, it just would have made it easier on everyone, him, and the family.

Mom was a prior resident of the facility in the past. They were absolutely wonderful and quite a joy

I doubt you will find more caring, amazing people to trust your love one with.

This community has a friendly staff and everyone greeted us when we came to visit. I moved my mother there because the. Apartments are spacious, the food is good and the residents are happy ( I actually asked several residents ). Great Place!

They do a good job. It's expensive but they take care of my father well. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I can't rate them on activities, as my father doesn't participate in them, but I think they have some things going on.

I love that the staff is so friendly and they know everyone and call you by name. They know who your family member is when you walk through the door. They listen to you when you talk. As far as the facility as a whole we're happy, but there are some issues we are dealing with at the memory care side versus the assisted living side. It's almost necessary to give separate reviews.

Everything seems to be pretty good. Everyone seems in tune with everyone and everything. They have a lot of activities and things going on. I would highly recommend this place if you can afford it! They look after everyone well and call me when they have questions or concerns. I am please with it.

It seems like a nice, safe place for a senior parent. The staff has been helpful and it's pretty economical compared to other places. It was recommended to me by several people. Nice, decent place.

Overall I think they do a great job at Emeritus at Staunton. The staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. It's just a very friendly, people-oriented place in general, they take great care of the people who live here! Emeritus is in the process of merging with another senior living company, which has caused a little confusion as they get all that worked out, but overall we are very pleased.

The staff at Brookdale Parkplace is very friendly. They have very good food, and a very inviting atmosphere. It was very easy for my mom to get comfortable there. She is very happy, so we are very happy.

I called and met with Evette and Jennifer at The Plaza in LV. Both were very friendly, Jennifer gave me the tour and explained how things flow at the residence. I think this will be a great place for my dad.

i do wish they had more activities geared towards men, They have a lot of painting and stuff that is geared more towards women, but my dad will not do those. The staff there is very good, always keeping me informed on everything I need to know. They really watch out for things very well, and they watch after their residents very good. Since they don't have a lot of residents they are able to give dad really good one on one care and attention. I think Brookdale Monument Valley Park is the perfect place for my dad.
