Brookdale

The rooms are somewhat 'dated'. There were (are) globs of paint, sealer and grout all over - especially in the bathroom. We have tried to clean up a lot of it because it bothers our mom so much. Activities are good. Our mom did not want to move here. Now that she has some friends and is participating in the activities (took a few months) she is quite happy. We are so glad. Gives us peace of mind to know she is happy, has friends and someone is around if she needs them.

Where to begin. The moment I walked through the front door I knew immediately that I wanted my Mom to reside here. [Name removed] greeted me with such a genuine welcome. From there the friendliness continued. Next I met with [Name removed] in sales and marketing, who listened to what I wanted and needed for my Mom. I had limited time to find an acceptable facility. [Name removed] worked miracles to get everything accomplished. [Name removed] the chef who prepares healthy, tasty meals. Also, Brookdale facilities have developed their own seasoning to cut down on the sodium intake. [Name removed] in maintenance had to work overtime to make my mom's apartment ready for move in. He got new carpet, floor covering, paint and new blinds in record time. I was able to move in and ready everything for my mom's arrival. [Name removed] the Care Coordinator has the most contagious warmth and caring nature. [Name removed] started as a caregiver and worked her way up. She is amazing. Then the icing on the cake is [Name removed] the manager. Mom ended up in the hospital for a week before her arrival. [Name removed] made everything perfect. I would highly recommend Brookdale facilities for all who want quality care for their loved ones.

My Mom has been there for 9 months and she now calls it home. She has Alzheimer's and gets upset and confused but the staff is always kind and supportive. She loves the Monday Bingo and the food is excellent. There are outings when weather permits and activities according to the season. It was a it daunting finding a place for her but this has proven to be the best choice we could have made.

Mom adjusted quite quickly to her new and affordable home. Staff have been helpful. Any problems are attended to promptly. Very pleased and relieved that she's in a safe place. Especially appreciate transport to medical appointments, shopping, and social outings.

The Best! My mom has been there 5 weeks and I am so pleased. The staff is confident and caring an take time to speak with me and the questions I have as we learn our way around. Her memory is fleeting at times and the staff is so patient and kind with her and I am very thankful. There are plenty of activities to do and she is always included and involved with them. They have a hairdresser, a podiatrist comes in once a month and I just found out someone to do her fingernails for her. She seems very happy and content and that makes me feel I picked the right place for her to live. To the Brookdale East staff, thank you for your kindness, caring and nurturing of my and others precious family members as we all struggle with these life changes.

My 90 year-old mother, who vowed that we would never get her out of her home, truly loves East Side. Because of her short-term memory issues, we hear this story every day: "well, I just moved in and I LOVE my rooms. The ladies at dinner are so nice and everyone is so friendly." (She has lived there almost a year now.) They keep Mother engaged in exercises, yoga, fun brain-teaser group games, music programs, lectures, outings and the list goes on. The building layout is very inviting to residents and visitors alike. Mother can have birdfeeders in the beautiful courtyard outside her window (all rooms are on ground level). The lobby is always filled with people chatting or enjoying activities. The grounds are wooded and secluded from traffic even though East Side is right off Route 5 and very easy to get to. Staff is very attentive to Mother's care, though we have had a couple small miscommunications about managing her hearing aids (thus, I didn't give ES a full 5-star rating here.) But I was able to meet immediately with supervising staff who straightened things out right away with the involved aides. (Wanted to be totally honest.) My sisters and, most importantly, our Mother really love East Side!

My mother broke her hip nearly 2 years ago. Because of the changing level of care she has needed, she has moved multiple times. The experience at Brookdale Kenwood has been one of the best . The executive director, activities director are amazing and more than helpful and accommodating. the care and nursing staff are kind and gentle and take good care of my mother. I would highly recommend Brookdale Kenwood.

My mother has been there for 8 months now and we are all very happy. Loads of activities, good food and convenient. My mother had surgery and I was able to set up a very inexpensive service at Brookdale for someone to bring her food, check on her, get her to the bathroom, and what ever else she needed. Their services are very convenient including transportation to stores, doctors appointments, sight-seeing and more. Their rates are very affordable compared to other independent living facilities in the area.

I can honestly say so far so good. My dad is happy, healthier, and loves the staff there. We as his family are so glad we made the move to Brookdale Assisted Care. We love our dad and wanted him to stay with one of his children, but he stated that we had our own lives and he would not live with any of his children. He is very independent and with the help of Brookdale he is continuing to stay this way. He has lived at Brookdale for six months and now calling it his home. Thank you for all your help.

Friendly, warm and inviting. The smaller size of the facility is perfect for our mom. She got to know the staff quickly and made several friends quickly and easily. She enjoys the activities too.

The staff and living arrangements are amazing at Brookdale Montclair. I am so comforted knowing that my Mom is watched over so carefully. The staff is very friendly and interactive. I love the activities that they have and the grounds are very conducive for walking and exercise. The sticker shock is always there but I feel the value of the services and the community they are offering. My ONLY complaint is the technology at the building in Poulsbo. The cable service is very antiquated and my Mom cannot watch a lot of the shows she likes without going through her computer, which is confusing to her. Other than that, I have nothing but praise for Brookdale Montclair, the staff and the community they have created! Thank you!

My aunt originally had an apartment in the Independent Living area but then had a fall and after surgery/rehab was relocated to the Assisted Living area. Apartment is the same and we were able to move all of her belongings and set up her apt before she was released from rehab...so she returned to the same style apt but on a different floor. We have found the staff to be very friendly. I like that there is a MD, physical/occupation staff that comes to Brookdale to meet with the residents which mean they don't have to leave for these services.. Also that there is a hair/nail salon on site. The activities are wonderful - group exercises daily, usually have music in the evening, bingo, ice cream socials, and much more. While my aunt does not use the swimming pool, many residents do. I am glad we found Brookdale PBG for my aunt.

The staff members at Brookdale were so kind to my mom. She had lived in a senior community for 18 years and was doing well until a medical emergency in May, 2018. Suddenly she couldn't function without help. She became a 2 person assist, and required more help than was available by the care givers at her residence. My family and I visited Brookdale, and immediately knew this was the place for the best care for my mom. We weren't wrong, she received the wonderful care from the entire staff. They were so patient and understanding. They all knew her by name, and made her feel safe and cared for. I would recommend Brookdale to anyone looking for a caring, giving residence for their loved one. Brookdale Memory Care was truly an amazing family to my mom, sisters, and myself. Mom is doing real well at Brookdale. I was worried that she might decline since she came from an Independendent Living Facility and moved across the country. She has done very well and flourished. The staff has been wonderful and keeps her involved. She has made friends and we are very happy with our choice of Brookdale!

Finding a home for my mom was really hard due to the lack of AL facilities in our geographical area that welcome Alzheimer’s residents. I needed her to be within a one hour drive from both my home and her old home without being near Nashville traffic. I believe I made the right decision on my mother’s behalf. Brookdale Columbia met all of my check marks and “felt” good during all my visits. I love the staff and all the activities they offer to keep my mother moving and her mind engaged. The facility has a great circular footprint the wraps around a pretty green space that residents can safely enjoy. During the summer, some of the residents grew flowers and had their own container gardens. I like that mom can get fresh air anytime and look at the birds and flowers without the worry of her wandering away. The rooms are spacious and feel like little apartments instead of hospital rooms. It’s very clean, the food is good, the atmosphere is a good, the staff interacts with her frequently and often makes her laugh. My mother likes to show off her decorated “apartment” to visitors and then give them a Little Debbie snack from the stash in her mini kitchen. She has settled in well and now calls it home. This was no small task and I credit the wonderful staff for helping her make the disorienting transition. Mom had to transition from living on a farm in a rural area to living in an apartment in the city. Overall I am at peace with my decision knowing my mom is finally safe, eats good food regularly, takes her meds when she’s supposed to, and is offered daily exercises and important social interactions. Some residents have small dogs/cats so mom gets to pet them and that also lifts her spirits. She is happy which is the ultimate reward after an exhausting search. I love Brookdale Columbia and all the caring staff!! I’m already thinking about living here myself! ??

Brookdale is facility that has very friendly staff and welcome me at every visit. I think it is very clean and accomplishes all the service needed for my dad. We have had a few glitches that were addressed immediately and in a very accommodating way. My father has made friends that have made the transition much easier, and after a hesitant move he has adjusted wonderfully. He is unable to participate in activities because of his vision but they seem to offer plenty of options. He likes the food although his diet is sugar free he says the food is fine and choices are available and controlled portions. He has options to snack in his room but doesn’t usually want too much. He had a hospital stay and the staff even checked on his progress at the hospital, which the nurses said was very unusual for a facility. We believe that Brookdale was the perfect choice for him and thus me also. I have no complaints.

I am extremely happy with Brookdale, Madison West. The staff is warm, caring and friendly. Mom loves her apartment - and so do I. I can honestly say that I am sleeping better because my mom is doing better. She is happier - and much healthier at Brookdale. I know that she can age in place there. I have to say - also that although my mom has Alzheimer's she is really quite connected to the world. I'm telling you this because mom would not have transitioned well into a 'single large room' - CBRF. Mom has a one bedroom apartment - which suits her wonderfully. The staff at Brookdale West in Madison helped mom and I make the choice of an apartment - but also helped me understand the finances and the level of care mom would do best with. Adjustments have been made as needed. Really - if you love your mom or dad - you cannot do better than Brookdale Madison West.

Brookdale Brighton was exceptional in services and commitment by the staff. The best part of Brookdale Brighton was the in facility Balanced Home Care caregivers. Exemplary in exceeding my mother-in-laws needs and were always available to communicate and interact with family.

My mother in-law is a resident and my husband and I could not be any happier with the level of care she is given. The staff is exceptional. My mother in-law was a shy lonely lady and she has become more outgoing and friendly. The director and his staff have made our family very safe and secure with our mothers care. We enjoy aactivities for the residents and church services. My mother in-law is enjoying a muchly enriched life style.
