Brookdale

We chose Brookdale Fort Myers because when we toured, the people we met were very helpful and fully open to explaining everything and showing us what they had to offer. We felt that the administrative staffing were very receptive. The staff members are all wonderful and very caring with the residents, the only issue I have noticed is that they have been short staffed the entire time my dad has been here. They are great with contacting us with any changes or needs and have been responsive. We are very happy and I am glad that we made this choice. I would recommend to others looking as long as they meet your loved ones particular needs.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. I feel there is room for improvement in areas such as activities. I feel this is a good community compared to others in area for the amount of money each month.

We are enjoying the Brookdale Georgetown community, we are happy with our choice. We like that it is a smaller community and their aging in place program. Those were the two big things that stood out to us. The activities are starting to come back. It seems like within the last 4 weeks they really have ramp back up and we are now able to see a calendar with those activities.

Overall, it's been a good experience. They've handled most of the details, so there hasn't been much for me to worry about. One area they've been a little lax in is coordinating with outside medical help. For instance, they were supposed to facilitate a video conference with my loved one's doctor and didn't make it to the appointment. There's also been problems communicating with the outside therapist. But other than that, overall it's been good, and I feel it's a fair price.

They are very friendly, attentive, and easy to talk to when you have issues. They seem to resolve any problems that you might have. And I would recommend them. The chef does a really good job with the food. They offer a lot of activities, and they make an effort to encourage our loved one to participate. She gets housekeeping once a week, with sheets and towels included. The only thing I would change is perhaps replacing the carpet in the hallways with hard floors, since carpet tends to soak up odors. But overall I've been very happy and satisfied with them.

The community is a good value for what they offer. Its neat and clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would like to see more activities available for the residents. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience

It's been very good so far. My loved one has not been there too long, but things have been clean. The caregivers are very, very patient, and very friendly and kind. During the last review the main woman had with our family, she said our loved one has adjusted well and is a model patient. She accepts their assistance and participates in the activities. All positive things. Nothing negative - no falls or bruises are happening. So far it's been a very positive experience.

The only reason we did not give Brookdale a 5 out of 5, is because we are having some issues with our loved ones medication being sent to a different pharmacy then what we picked. It is being worked out we do think it was just a communication issue. For Mother's Day they had a get together which was very nice, we are able to sit outside when the weather is nice. When we do come to visit we see a lot of activities going on in the main social areas, but on the memory care side we aren't really able to see to much. Our loved one does get a lot of physical therapy and the staff really do seem to like him. For Father's Day they were only allowing up to two visitors so we had ask if we could do a window visit so myself and our three sons could come, and instead of having visit through a window they made a little section in the courtyard where our loved one sat across from us and we were actually able to have seven people there. They were very accommodating which we appreciated.

I like that it is a smaller community. You get to know the staff pretty well, and get to know who the caregivers are. I don't think they check in on my loved one as much as I would like to. They do a lot of great activities during the week to keep the residents busy. The weekends are pretty boring for the residents.

We did a tour with this community and it was very nice. The tour was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They answered all of our questions and gave us lots of information to consider. The community was very nice and they were very accommodating to us.

Our family has only been able to visit twice, but the community is always really nice, very clean and tidy. Our parents love it there, especially our mother. She loves getting up and doing exercise classes and help bake cookies. We wanted to find a place where we feel safe having our loved ones there, a place where their medication is taken care of and meals are provided and this is that place. They have their handful with our father, but they are doing a great job and we have been very pleased with the staff team.

I was impressed with Brookdale Sleepy Hollow. The community was clean and there was no smell. The staff were friendly with the residents and knew them by name. The community has an enclosed outside area for the residents to use to get fresh air. The downfall was that it was a little bit further than I wanted it to be.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The rooms are nice. The staff are accommodating, kind and caring. The location is nice. Our experience was during the pandemic. My loved one loved the meals.

We've experience a very good relationship what the staff and other residents. My loved one seems to be as happy there as she might be. In my experience, no one is perfectly happy with these communities, because every resident I've talked to, no matter happy they are, still wants to go home. It's very clean, with no smells like you might notice at other communities. I've had the food at special events, and it was very good. They seem to keep the residents pretty active. The cost is high, but that seems to be the case everywhere.

Most anything we need is right here. The food is way better than any restaurant around. I've watched the growth within our community and we continue to progress and go up. It's all about connection with one another, a heart-to-heart connection.

I liked Brookdale South Charlotte secondly. The biggest thing that decided us was the place we chose was smaller, with not as many people Also, the room my loved one would have had at Brookdale would have been on the 2nd floor and not as accessible for him. And it wasn't as visually appealing as where he ended up. He has a porch outside his window with nice views there. Plus concessions on pricing were better at the place we chose than at Brookdale. We liked everybody we met on our Brookdale tour, and I thought it was a really nice environment. We almost chose them, but it was size that was the deciding factor. Brookdale had one centralized dining room, whereas the place we chose has dining rooms for each hallway, which makes it feel more homey.

They're a dementia only community, with no assisted living, so the staff is very trained and focused on dealing with those types of people. The staff have been really nice. Activities are just now starting back up after Covid. It's expensive, but worth it for a loved one with dementia.

I'm pretty happy with the community. My loved one is very happy here. The area and rooms are always clean. The residents are always well put together by the staff. You can tell the residents are being well taken care of. Every time I've visited the residents are doing items in the communal areas. The staff keep me up-to-date on my loved one. The communication is amazing! They have music once or twice a week. There is always some activity available for the residents. I think the value is there. My loved one feels relaxed there. The rooms feel more like an apartment, and this still helps with the independence.
