Brookdale

The only thing that I really object to is the ground beef. I think they're using imitation beef or something, and it upsets my stomach to the point that I can't eat anything that has ground beef in it. Everybody says hello, but that's about it. The staff is wonderful. They've always been polite. I've never had any questions that haven't been answered. They've been very good. It's been clean overall. Every once in a while I've had bugs in my bathroom, that's the only drawback. But they've taken care of it though when I let them know. They offer a good variety of activities, although I haven't participated in many. I think I'm getting my money's worth here.

I would send another loved one here. They seem to be real helpful. The communication with the staff is good.

We are satisfied and really have no complaints to say. They are just now allowing visitation but so far everything we have seen is very clean. The staff members there are very friendly and really are doing their best when it comes to the care. So far we do think the value is reasonable and fair.

There are still some restrictions so we aren't able to get passed the lobby, but the lobby is very well maintained. The staff members there are very friendly, and they have good quality care services. From speaking with our loved one says the meals are good, and they do have some limited group activities. We also think the value for cost is very good.

Brookdale Highlands looked really, really nice. It was just way outside of our price point. The campus was very nice, and it looked like they had a lot of amenities and activities. In addition to the price, it was located a bit too far south for us as well.

I chose Brookdale because the overall aesthetics of the facility as well as the convenience of where it is located to other facilities that I would be interested in and the value for the dollar is good. The apartment sizes vary but mine is adequate for what I need. If someone if contemplating a move, I would tell them to do some research and find a place that fits your needs. I would recommend them to others looking.

Management is upfront and open to conversation. communication is good between the staff and our loved ones, they keep us informed and up to date. The community is neat and clean and the staff is really friendly. I would recommend this community based on my experence.

The staff is very sincere and does a very good job. They do offer special at the community also. Communication started off rocky but it is improving and is much better. I would highly recommend this community to others based on my experience.

We chose Brookdale Cedar Springs because she was able to get a bedroom and a half with a full kitchen, walk out patio, and good size living room for a great price, so value for the money is off of the chart. They were more friendly and accommodating and let us come in to visit before deciding. I would absolutely recommend to others who are looking.

It is a great community. I would recommend you try it out. There is a caring staff and they know what they are doing. They attend to all the resident's needs. I don't see a lot of activities currently for my loved one.

The community is very clean and there are a lot of activities. The people are wonderful here and the staff is really great. There is so much to do, I am well situated and close to everything in the Brighton area.

At the end of the day, you're not going to find a group of people who are more caring. I really do feel they did everything they could to give my loved one dignity and comfort and give her what she needed. Because of Covid, there were so many restrictions and policy changes, and I felt they were trying to do as much as they could for the residents and their families within those parameters being forced on them. Was it perfect? No. But I really felt they tried to do their best. And if something wasn't perfect, they knew it, and they tried to change it. The food was fine, not gourmet dining by any sense, but based on the target audience it seems okay. On paper, the activity offerings look good, and I think they really do try to have a good calendar of opportunities for people to get involved and do things. My loved one had vision issues - I would have liked to have seen more accommodation for her involvement. She would have needed a one-on-one person to walk her through, and I think she missed a lot of the opportunities. Their costs are in line with similar facilities in the area. I was far less concerned about the money and most concerned that she was getting the care she needed.

I did like all the staff members here, everyone was nice and they returned phone calls and kept us informed always. They were very accommodating and always timely in answering emails. My dad was happy here and was more receptive and was not over medicated. I feel that he would probably still be alive if he would have stayed here at Brookdale Silver Lake. It is a pleasant facility and I would recommend them to others looking.

I really feel like the staff, especially the administrator and head nurse, have been very attentive to questions and phone calls. They've been really good with communication back and forth. I think they've done a good job during this hard year with Covid, from what I can tell. I feel like they do care about the patients, even beyond maybe what they're really required to.

I have been very happy with Brookdale. I think that the executive director is just excellent. I'm just very happy with her. I think they do care about the people who live there, and my loved one is happy. When I visit him, he looks like he's well cared for. My only gripe so to speak is I don't think they brush his teeth enough. They're supposed to brush them twice a day, and I don't know if that's happening. And of course you can't ask him. He's very happy with the food. He lost quite a bit of weight when he first moved there, and Brookdale asked the doctor to prescribe a protein drink. He looks a lot better, he looks good now. They keep me informed, of falls and how he's doing after, things like that. So I'm satisfied.

We have not really been able to get inside the community until recently, but we do think our loved ones are enjoying the meals. Even when they were in quarantine they still had activities going on, they could do small things in their rooms. We do think the apartments are pretty good. Our mother is on the memory care side and her room is small but perfect for her.

We chose Brookdale because they seemed to be more friendly and it was also much closer to my house so I could visit often. They have had a tremendous record of very few covid cases and everyone is now vaccinated. This week I am finally able to go in and see her in her room, you are able to schedule 3 days a week 2 hour sessions at a time. I am excited to go inside, they are going through some renovations and refreshing the facility. She also likes the food, she gets a couple of choices on each meal provided and the food is good quality. My wife is happy here and I would definitely recommend them.

My mother is content and I feel she is well taken care of. The communication between the staff and the family is good. I can call and they are quick to respond. I would recommend this community to others

With their covid protocols they still let the hospice come in, and the music therapy and physical therapy. They had a good amount of long term staff members who really cared about the residents, and they were very good about communicating with the families.
