When I started looking for a retirement home for my mother, I was very pleased to find "A Place for Mom." They provided the names of several places that would met Mom's current, as well as future needs. I kept in contact with two places, and when the time came, we decided on the Villas of Summerfield. It was not only in a perfect location, but the facility is very well maintained and "top shelf." The management really worked with us to get my Mom into the perfect size suite for her, and continues to provide personal attention as she transitions into her new home. From her first visit, my Mom was addressed by name and treated as a valued member of the Summerfield community. A former caterer, she was immediately impressed by the set-up of the dining area and quality of cuisine. Although not typically a "joiner," my Mom has become very involved in a wide range of the activities offered. Mom has the benefits of "her own home" within a safer, supported environment. We could not be more pleased with Summerfield.

This was a beautiful place, really nice, first class. It was very expensive though and I thought that the apartment itself was small for the price it was.

Warm friendly place from employees (low turnover) to residents. It appears that much effort is made to assist residents in staying in independent living as long as possible. The food is delicious, and I discovered in touring other homes just how important that can be. The dining staff goes out of their way to try to please, maintenance staff is reasonably prompt and responsive, and marketing takes the attitude that if something desired can be done, then why not. Activities are various - something for everyone - and my mother is delighted to be making new friends after a period of isolation resulting from increased discomfort physically when going out and decreased comfort driving. She has now been living there less than two weeks, so I don't know if problems will arise, but I take comfort in knowing she likes where she is, others are around her, she can get to her doctor appointments, employees are looking out for her, and she can eat well with little effort on my part or hers. Now the time I spend with her is enjoyable rather than a frustrating series of situations requiring solutions to problems. The population of residents is diverse,and Mom and I both like that!

The staff is excellent. They seem very fair in price in comparison to others. You pay for what you get but the care you get is very good. The food is very good. The housekeeping comes once a week and they are very good. They might be a little understaffed from time to time. The building itself is very old, so the plumbing is a little worn and outdated, but it's not something that can be fixed for each individual apartment. It would have to be completely renovated. It's well kept and clean so they do everything they can. Most of the staff is very accommodating.

I haven't had the chance to visit here yet, but based on my family's feedback, this is a beautiful and clean place! I've talked to the staff a lot, and they were great with helping me with my concerns. They really take care of stuff. They pay a lot of attention to the residents, and there's lots of activities and field trips for them. They are all expensive, but there's a lot of overhead and staff, so you know what you're paying for. I definitely plan on having my loved one come back! It's a really good fit, and for being picky, if she likes it, then we like it!

What is most important is that my loved one is happy here! The people are nice, and the place is just beautiful! We are very pleased! It is in a convenient location for us, but we were also very impressed when we toured. The sales people greeted every person we saw by their name, whether they were residents or staff members. They introduced us to everyone, which reassured us that this was a friendly and relational environment. My loved one is happy with the caretakers, which is great!

Our experience with Horizon Bay was awesome. We were all treated with respect and as if we were part of their family. Everyone made us feel as if they had known us all our lives. So caring and sympathetic to our special needs. I would highly recommend Horizon Bay.

They really have an individualized type of care. Coming from such a large and elaborate place, this small and personalized community is perfect! The staff are all so sweet and loving! This place is very clean and there's no chemical smells - they're not covering anything up. It's a very simple and country style type of living, and it's very home-like. We are so pleased!

We toured this location when we were looking into care options for our loved one. We were impressed by what we saw here, and were considering this as our 2nd choice if the community we selected did not work out. The only problem we saw here was that the community felt much emptier and less social than some others that we saw.

We actually preferred the look and feel of this location to the other Emeritus we selected, however they did not have availability for the types of rooms we wanted at the time of our search, and time was an issue. This is a very nice place, however, and I would give them top marks across the board!

I love it! They just raised the prices though. It is very clean. The staff is very friendly. They are very quick with their response. The one time we had a miscommunication they were able to resolve it right away. The food is excellent and he likes that they give him lots of fruit and vegetables. I would give them a five on the food.

The staff at Clare Bridge has helped make this transition better than I could have imagined. I leaned on them for advise and input throughout the entire process of getting my mother moved in. I used them as my sounding board for every question imaginable. The biggest of those questions to me was "How will I ever get Mother to move in?" And from there - things like "How do we handle move-in day?" "What do we say when she says she wants to go home?" These were all huge mental barriers for me that the staff at Clare Bridge helped us to think through.

They were very mercenary. Everytime I turned around, I was getting another bill for something. They wanted us to use their pharmacy, and then bill us for everything. They made us feel like we had to buy their hospice service. The people were very kind and the place was nice and clean. Their caregivers seemed to be okay, but it was their overall mercenary attitude that left a very sour taste in our mouth.

My brother is receiving excellent care at Clare Bridge of Salem. The staff is responsive to his needs. When questions arise I have been given timely and accurate responses in a pleasant and caring manner. The activities are varied and just what my brother needs to be involved in a daily routine. I have made some special requests for my brother's care and Clare Bridge has been accommodating and helpful.

I have had both my mother in law and now my own mother residing at the Cumberland and have been very pleased with the professionalism, friendliness and the services both times. My mother in law was a resident in 2012 and my mother moved in just this year, it seems like things are improving every year. This is RESIDENT centered care, not STAFF centered care, and it makes all the difference for the dignity of elderly residents. The apartments are customizable, the common areas are clean and cheerful, the food is great in the dining room and we love the accommodations made by staff, particularly with residents who have pets. This is a delightful community to be a part of!

Immaculate, but undergoing renovation 4/15! Small (52 rooms) & smoking allowed outside. Had lunch; food excellent. Say they accommodate food preferences. Staff very friendly. Much more open to encouraging independence of residents. Flexible with entrance fee; might have some furniture. All private rooms. No openings at the moment, but no waiting list. Concerns: no Medicaid and doors locked at all times.

We love that she is able to have her own space and her own apartment. The layout is good, the dining room is very open with many tables for groups of four. Some of the personnel have been there for 13 years. Some of them aren't very knowledgeable with the medication distribution, they charge a lot to dispense medication, the caregivers should know a little about what they are giving. They have a good mix of residents with people that have all different levels of needs.

They've done a very good job here so far, I'd give them 5s across the board. I don't have a lot of other experiences with senior communities to compare this place with, but I'm impressed by what I've seen here so far.

They are really excellent. We are totally satisfied. The staff has all been very cooperative. As far as price, they seem to be right in line with the others in the area. One of the main reasons we chose them was because of location. They are near to family, so if our loved one needs anything, we can be there to help.

Everything is just great! Total 5! I really can't think of a single thing that needs to be improved. They are doing really good, and it's working out well. The price is comprable to others in the area. We really just loved the staff! They are so warm and welcoming and that was a really good thing for us.
