Brookdale

We've had a great experience here so far! The staff are wonderful, they are very nice, helpful, and all seem extremely qualified to do what they do. The facility itself is very clean and well kept, and is bright and cheerful feeling. The only issue we have are the costs, which are very high.

They are doing a good job. The food is good. They are taking care of his medicine. The place is kept very clean, the dining room is beautiful with white table cloths and very clean. I wish they would have gotten on getting him in a little sooner. The pricing is pretty fair, to my expectations. Overall they are doing a very good job.

My mother began living in the Villas 5 months ago and since then there have been many changes. The Executive Director has changed and several front desk staff has changed. Although this can be unsettling for the residents, the remaining staff at the Villas made the transition as comforting as possible. I was incredibly impressed with how well they managed dealing with the flood from the fall of 2013. Their own facilities had damage and they were also able to take in residents from another facility whose apartments were damaged. They handled all of this with ease and efficiency. The only thing that my mom was disappointed about was the elimination of the wine at the happy hour events. This is one area that could be revisited. There aren't too many activities she can participate in that still makes her feel like an adult. Many residents feel the same way. I also think they could do more evening activities as well. Mornings are difficult for many residents and they need time to be able to move around better. If they were to have more organized board games and social activities, I'm sure my mother would participate. All in all, my mom feels more independent here than she has in many, many years - just because she has her own space and has made many new friends. The staff is so sweet to her and all their residents. The staff(including the kitchen staff) make all the difference!

I was very pleased with the care my father received in the Dementia Care Facility at Carolina House. The caregivers were excellent. They all seemed to enjoy their jobs and were always cheerful and happy to help the residents. It was a very pleasant place to visit. Jamie was especially great to deal with. She was great with the residents and willing to help family members any way she could. Myra Gammon was especially good to work with. She gets involved with the residents as well as being in the administration. I was very pleased with Carolina House and would recommend it to any one else. I would use it again if I needed care for a parent in Smithfield.

Hawthorn Lakes is beautiful. It was a wonderful, informative tour. Nancy provided so much information and was very pleasant and professional.

The cleanliness is fine here. I'm not sure how often they clean, but it's good. The staff are always very friendly. They have activities going on, too. There's been a group of little girls that came in to dance, and other things like that. My loved on enjoys it here, and doesn't mind paying the price, so it's been good!

I only stayed here for a few days, but I very much enjoyed my stay! The staff were all very cooperative and friendly! The room I stayed in was nice and clean. They even had an exercise group that I joined in while I was there! They had a couple of stationary bikes and a treadmill and a staff member that led the exercise classes. Also, the food was excellent! I had 3 meals a day, and they had a snack bar outside the dining room where I could help myself to ice cream and coffee, and they had donuts and cookies out in the morning.

We have nothing but good things to say! It's a little older, but it's very homey and has a lot of charm. The rooms are great too! The 1 bed apartment has a living room and a kitchenette. They also have a plan that has a great room, with a dining area, living area, and a kitchenette. They also have little patios off the back! Our loved one has been happy there, and we've been very pleased as well! We were in a rush, and they had the availability for us! They were so willing to work with us and help us in! A lot of other places had waiting lists that we couldn't wait for. Also, you don't have to have all the money up front here. They offered us a lesser price and they really work with you. They want to meet your family and make sure they are a great fit, too! They gave us all of their personal phone numbers and we could call them if we need to. We also like that there is Assisted Living here too, so if she ever needs it, it's right there! They offer a la carte care options for those who are in Independent Living, but maybe want assistance with a couple things. She loves having the two meals a day! There are lots of social opportunities here! They take trips to the doctor, to Wal-Mart, to the bank, and even to church services. It gives them their independence back, but it also takes the worry off of you. My loved one told me, "I feel like I live like a queen here!"

They seem to be doing a great job here so far, everything is high quality and I'd give them top marks across the board. The staff are all very friendly and doing a great job helping her adjust to the new living situation. We're very comfortable with Mom being here, and we feel like they're going to take great care of her.

Overall, they do a really good job here. There have been some issues with the billing, and this could be more of a corporate issue, since there has been a recent change of hands and a new director. Hopefully, it will be taken care of soon. What we really liked was that this was an easy transition from moving out of a house and into a community. They have their own apartment here with a kitchen, so it's a much easier transition.

They do an excellent job here, I've used them for more than one of my relatives. I'd give them 5s across the board! They're a very resident centered community, and the staff really go out of their way to cater to the individual needs of each resident.

We have been very pleased with Brookdale Place Valencia.They have bent over backwards to help us get my family settled in and happy. Steve Tracy stops by to say hi to them and see how they are doing regularly. He has a wonderful personality and always has a smile on his face. My in laws say the food is really good. My mother in law says the clothes dryer in the laundry room takes a long time but what else does she have to do.

We are very happy. They are clean and friendly, in our experience. There aren't as many activities as you might find in other communities, but since this is memory care, I feel like they are appropriate relative to the residents needs and abilities. There have been no complaints about food, and I can't really think of any complaints at all so far. We chose them because we found the administrative staff to be particularly helpful.

We are very happy with Sterling House, not only are they clean and friendly. They really helped me out in the first six months, working with me on pricing. I also like the size and that it's a smaller community. They are good with getting him to engage in some of the activities and entertainment. They will go and get him for exercise classes and happy hour and things. I don't really have a complaint, they have pulled through with everything I have asked for. The food is good too, and the big meal is lunch and dinner is smaller meal, I like that it works out well. I kind of wish they showered them more, they do showers twice a week.

That's the best place out of all three that we have tried. It looks really good, they are taking good care of our loved one. There are no issues whatsoever. They have done a tremendous job. They keep him on his medication. Nobody ever calls to say they can't handle him. Best of all he seems to be happy.

Dad really seems to be happy here. I don't get to see the community much myself since I am located in a different state, but when we hear from Dad things seem to be going well. He also seem to really enjoy the food.

I found Clare Bridge through Find a Home for Mom. I was excited the moment I walked in to see how beautiful this facility was and hoped it would be perfect for my brother. I especially liked the friendliness of the staff and their genuine expression of concern for our particular situation. They helped me over a few bumps as my brother adjusted to his new environment. Clare Bridge is lovely in every respect. It is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Lots of activity areas as well as an outside patio for quiet meditation or meeting with family and friends. The individual bedrooms are spacious and can easily accommodate personal furniture one might want to bring from home.

The facility is excellent - the rooms are neat, well-appointed, well prepared to accomodate senior needs, and clean. All of the staff are very helpful and friendly. They take good care of my mom and try to help her have a meaningful experience every day.

Our family suddenly were told by our MOM's physician that should not be living alone. She is diabetic and had gotten her med/insulin confused and become very ill. After a hospital visit, I started looking for care. Upon calling Emeritus, I asked the director if she had any names of temporary caregivers. I called and hired an Emeritus prn worker to help until arrangements could be made to move MOM. Mrs. Carmie, was an angel in disguise. In interim, arrangements were made for a quick and smooth move to Emeritus. Mrs. Bowden, (director) helped with names of movers, that were excellent. I live in Charlotte, NC .Drove to Tennessee Monday, business Tuesday and the big move on Wednesday. My brother and I worked diligently to ready her room. Emeritus was wonderful to help with the necessary meetings and paperwork quickly and efficiently. I ate meals that week for lunch and dinner with MOM in a special area for the two of us so we could converse and discuss her new home. The food was excellent. We even met the chef, who was so very nice and personable. Each and every person we dealt with treated us with such caring and attentiveness. Now after stress has decreased, our Mom is doing very well , adjusting to her new surroundings and making new friends. I strongly feel without the move and the wonderful staff at Emeritus our MOM would not be alive today. It is very difficult to take care of the business end living so far away, but they make each phone call a personal experience and help me every step of the way. Her medications and injections are dispensed appropriately. Laundry and cleaning such a plus. MOM loves getting up and dressing for the day, looking forward to their activities, and making her phone calls in the am. We are relieved and blessed to have found such wonderful people working in such a wonderful establishment. We are very proud to call Emeritus our MOM's home. Thanks with all my heart to those who really like their jobs and care for those who still have much life to live.

Overall, this is a great place! The price is pretty high, though, so I rated that a little bit lower. This location was perfect for our family, and he's close by. Also, he says that he likes the food, which is good!
